For me I just changed the coil strength setting within the CGC settings. Good luck with the game. CGC support team helped me with the problem I had.

I received the same advice but this didn't address the problem.

Just got in my MBR LE today but I think my left Phantom Flip isn't working. After spelling "Phantom" only the right side lane will light. When you use flippers to switch it, the light goes out and the left side won't light.

The odd thing is that when the game is in attract mode both Phantom Flip lights are working. Weird huh?

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm out of the club... sold my SE today. It was fun while it lasted. For whatever reason... it lost its steam for me.

Does anybody else silently wish, just a little bit, that they actually had a minor problem with their machine because it would mean you actually had a machine delivered to have a minor problem with? And Yeah, I realize that is a real puckered up, sour grapes way of thinking about it but waits like this are bad for one’s state of mental health.

Day 141... today I ran out of food... water is down to my last canteen... not sure how much longer this MB drought can last... crops have all but dried up and failed..., we lost Grandma last week to a Stern Deadpool... Uncle Vernon was took from us early by a JJP POTC... Aunt Millie broke down and bought a Houdini, but it didn’t help none. She succumbed to the wait just like cousin Kleetus... if it werent for Munsters, I think Grandpa would have hung himself in the laboratory...

Yeah, I don’t wait well...

#4306 5 years ago

I dunno...what with all the snow and the crazy melt/flood ahead of me...kinda greatful mine isn't here yet. January would have been perfect, but February and March have just been brutal.

Better to not have it at all rather than stuck in a quickly melting snow bank a stones throw from my walk out. I've waited years, I can wait a few more weeks.

CGC helped me with a topper light problem. I didn't submit a ticket on scoop. Sorry if I mislead.

Yep mine did this for the first 20 plus games, I opened a ticket and CGC tech told me the Phantom flip takes time to learn and I should play it more. After about 20 games it started working perfectly.

Same here with the Phantom Flip at first. Now it works as designed, and I'm pretty happy with it. It actually makes needed shots a large percentage of the time.

You have to ‘train’ the Phantom flip. Not everyone sets their machine up to the same pitch, so I wouldn’t expect the phantom flip feature to work correctly right out of the box. If you don’t want to play it 20 or so times and want a faster way to teach the feature, try this...

Take the glass off, start a game, and then qualify PHANTOM flip with your finger (any order or any one of the blue phantom standup targets). Then simply drop a ball into the respective lighted inner-lane to ‘train’ the phantom flip. The first time, the flipper will auto-engage using a power for whatever the machine deems the most valuable shot (likely a total miss). Then re-qualify PHANTOM flip again and try again. After doing this 3-4 times, the phantom flip should should engage the flipper w/ the correct power and attempt to make the most valuable shot at that time.

Question for fellow owners. On my LE, if I lower the backbox GI from the default setting "MAX" I get some funky feedback / distortion coming through the speakers. Was wondering, does anyone else's do the same?

The test, in a quiet room, go into CGC menu and adjust the backbox GI lower. MAX and -1 are normal, silent. Soon as I go to -2 or turn on interactive with playfield GI where the backbox brightness goes brighter and dimmer then the feedback is also there. It's definitely a byproduct of the LED output level.

Curious if they all do that, or just mine.
Thanks.

Bublehead’s lament continues...

...Day 142... the animals are avoiding me. Not sure why? Maybe it is their keen sense of the “He thinks I am food” vibe they get when ever they happen to lock eyes with me... because, cute only goes so far when your as ravenous as I am right now for the raw meat of a NIB MBrLE, but I digress... the wife is avoiding me too... keeps mumbling things under her breath- sounded a lot like “@$$hole” to me, but I am ready to start eating my own young at this point, so I have been giving her some space... my e-mail box is nothing but a breeding ground for spider webs, male enhancement products, and Papa Johns pizza offers... last message from my distributor was a post-it note taped to a rock he threw through my window last night while doing a drive by- simply said “no effing clue”...

The front spot type lights didn't work. The back moon and amps lights worked fine.
Inside the right amp is the plug for the front spot lights. It was not all the way in.

This is common and I don't know if there's much you can do about it. My AFMr as well as some others have the same issue - at MAX it's pretty quiet, but as you decrease the backbox brightness it gets louder, with no change in brightness or sound from MAX to -1. See my post in the owners club: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/attack-from-mars-remake-afmr-owners-club/page/124#post-4738242

Long story short, CGC sent me a replacement controller board but it made the problem worse, so I sent it back and kept my original board. They pretty much just said it's a known issue with the design but they won't address it, and left it at that. When I have time I might try some things but for now I'm just keeping the setting at MAX.

Thank you for the confirmation! I just went and read your posts in the AFMr thread.

I can live with it on MAX or -1, but it would be nice to have a fix so the other settings don't cause the static/feedback. If you ever come up with a resolve (sounds like CGC won't be) let us know.

Back of the cabinet where the cord plugs in. This goes over the cord to help hold it in place.

...day 143... I just noticed the buzzards... been circling for some time now I guess. Not sure exactly what they think will be left when I expire... sun is getting hotter every day now... used the last of my carnuba wax yesterday to put a shine on Family Guy... I figure there is no need to let it suffer any longer than it has already... with all the dirt and rubber bits from the constant grudge nudging... I found a empty bottle yesterday, I have fashioned a crude note to my distributor out of some dead leaves, a few twigs, and a rudimentary glue made up of crushed hopes and dreams. With luck, the outgoing tide and current might get me a response by April. Or May?

...Day 144... I came to this morning in an unfamiliar place. It took me a minute or two to realize I was still sitting in my recliner, Ipad on the end table, phone on the floor, animals sitting on my chest staring into my soul... seems I fell asleep last night while visions of MBrLE’s danced in my head... then I noticed my phone blinking a purple “you got mail” eye at me and I fell out of my recliner in my haste to retrieve it and see if it was good news... Well bruised elbow aside, it was just more spam... heavy sigh... my Macrophobia is acting up again.

I've got one if you are interested in owning one sooner.

#4344 5 years ago

Hey Bubblehead - fear not, you are not alone. I'm sure there are plenty of folks awaiting their MBr.

#4345 5 years ago
Quoted from dts:

I've got one if you are interested in owning one sooner.

Well, I am waiting this one out for another reason right now, and that being if CGC takes aim at another dog butt when the next remake is announced and has another “matching number” loyalty program. Because one could argue that the delays on MBr’s have been a big mis-step for CGC, and their “non number matching” LE customers have taken it in the shorts big time as far as waiting on their machines. I don’t know if CE, SE, or matched LE customers are lamenting the wait as much... but that may be because they already have their machines? I don’t know.

My only hope is, once I have a number to match, maybe I get my next CGC remake machine a little quicker than 5 months? Because right now, it will be exactly a 5 month wait come March 19th. And they are seriously on the hook now, from my point of view at least, to offer this loyalty program again in the future. Because if they don’t, they might as well have called it the customer disloyalty program, because even if they offered a TAF/BBB two for one, they would get a solid HARD PASS from me.

Ok, that was way too harsh... I would go for a TAF/BBB 2 for 1

Quoted from rad:

Hey Bubblehead - fear not, you are not alone. I'm sure there are plenty of folks awaiting their MBr.

I hear ya, rad, but this is how I handle my Macrophobia... besides, I am a former sailor... and a bitching sailor is a happy sailor, apparently?

Had my MBR LE A few days and I'm noticing that the ball goes STTM on right orbit 50% of the time. Any ideas of what I should do to fix this? Thinking of loosening the screws and pushing out the wall a bit if I can. I think it's hitting Drac's feet as it comes down. This can't be normal. Should the ball be hitting the left or right flipper when it comes from right orbit?

It’s Drac’s feet, and it is pretty normal. You can adjust the bracket slightly under the PF (bend it) or bend the ball guide inward a tiny bit. The ball usually doesn’t come off the ball guide with enough velocity to maintain a Straight Line, so it curves out and hits his feet.

The other thing you can do is slightly raise the right front leg a turn or two (doesn’t have to be much)

The game was designed with an additional tiny ball guide in the middle of the wolfman’s head on that right side, but they removed it in production.

#4349 5 years ago

I agree about the raising the leg. Before I leveled my game we really weren't having an issue now just about every time the ball comes around it hits Drac's feet and goes SDTM (at least 90%) its to the point where the family doesn't want to play. I have bent the bracket and tried other things with only temporary relief. Guess I will change the levelness of the game so we can get back to playing. Its that or I am cutting his damn feet off!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t really help either...

It doesn’t take much to change the behavior, only turn the leveler a couple times at first. And you have to try off an initial plunge a -lot- since it get randomed by the bumpers. Then make sure it comes around at a faster velocity (ie like in full moon), which it still should no problem.

FYI my game is at about 7.1/7.2
