After talking with their rep at Expo, the plan is 150 SE first and they can produce them in two weeks, them matching number LE’s... then non matching LE’s then CE and more SE’s. I told him I locked in a non matching LE and he said I would probably see it by Christmas. That’s all I know right now. Same rep said they have been building modules for months, and they have been very busy building even more things we don’t know about. This may be hype, who knows. While eating dinner at the hotel restaurant, a discussion on the next remake broke out between the rep and an operator, who agreed with me when I said TAF would never be recreated. The CGC rep looked down at his plate and said, and I quote “That’s not what the going price says, it’s still commanding $10k for a mint machine.” So throw that on the proverbial speculation bonfire.

#258 5 years ago

so they can build 75 games a week?

I recall a post that they can build 15 a day. So yes that should be 75 a week.

Yes, but would that mean there are another bunch of people that they think will buy a TAF.

With that BOM, it would either be an expensive machine or they would have to sell a lot of them to get benefits of scale.

I guess anything can happen, but they made 20K of them already...must be a lot still in existence.

Anyway, back to MBr...

I find it interesting that most of the Pinsider's posting in this thread have many years already in the hobby.
So maybe the primary market for this, is the nostalgic seasoned hobbyist. And maybe it has less appeal to the newer players that lack the soft nostalgia for the pin? I'm still in <1 yr. But own 4 pins now.
I've been in on the LE. Just having second thoughts, comparing it to other pins. And rumors of pins/companies coming next year. Is this the one_ I want. Or maybe a jjPOTC. Or a magic girl.
Kinda grinding over this for 2 days now.

Play them all and see which one you like best before making your decision. Pinball is meant to be fun and picking any machine is part of that fun. MB is an all time classic 90s BW game that still is highly desirable. I think most of the 1250 LEs will go into peoples houses and their private collections. The reason seasoned pinheads are buying the remake is the game and game play is still good compared to all the newer titles.

Remember that there are no wrong decisions in pinball. Rumours are just that, rumours.

15 machines per day is CGC s target production. That doers not mean that they can make that many. I would think they can make 10 - 12 per day = 50 or 60 machines per week. Hopefully CGC have been manufacturing while waiting for the final approvals and they can make 15 machines per day or more. We will find out in the next few weeks.

It's all about supply and demand. 20K means nothing if you have 25K people that want one. High end restored ones go for 10k to 13k. Average condition with some wear and tear is about 6k to 6.5k. I personally own one in the average condition price point. Would I sell it and buy a remake. Wouldn't even have to think twice about. Remake all the way! Same with my Scared Stiff.

#265 5 years ago

MrSanRamon , not sure how many would be in for an TAFr, but it sure felt like CGC thinks it is a viable product. I think their multi tiered offerings would work here. They are looking for me, specifically, as a customer. Home collector with a large disposable income stream. That puts me in for the MBrLE and probably a TAFrLE if they made one. Operators can get in on a classic if their clientele are looking for older popular titles and the not so well to do player can get a decent trim level machine without all the bling. I didn’t think a TAFr would ever be produced, due to the 20k machines out there either, and it was me who said so during the conversation. It was the CGC rep who thinks differently.

put this in perspective. many of us will be unboxing a brand spanking new monster bash in several weeks! thats just incredible.

Yea, I got that.

It just seems that it would be expensive to make, so the price would approach maybe $9k...but I see guys spending that on JJP games so maybe $9k is the new $6k.

I'm paying around $8.3k for a MBrLE...so maybe $9 or 9.5k is still viable.

I have a couple LE's left if anyone is still looking.
Out of the gate MBr LE is selling strong.

PM me if interested.

#270 5 years ago

Just went in for an LE... Really not that much more than a Special and I would have bought a shaker anyway... So when you take that into account the LE is not that much more.
I think the whole pricing point the Monster Bash is very reasonable. I really hope this is where pin prices remain.
Expensive yes... But, when you think of all the work and design going into it, its not that much really.
And as I said before. I went to the expo, and this was the game that enjoyed the most from it. But, I am a weirdo when it comes to pinball.
I found the hobbit fun, but have no desires to own it. Really enjoyed JJ Pirates. But, come one... There is just too much crap that will break in that machine. I will never, ever own one, I think it would fall through my 100 year old floors as it has to be like 500 pounds, and lastly the theme is just meh for me. But, still a great game. I feel the same way about dialed in. Great game, meh theme. No desire to own one.
I will say however, I was shocked about Monster Bash. Its just a great pin. Great to look at, the topper is amazing(and I hate toppers) the giant display and new animations are incredible, and the game shoots great.
I only put up a few decent scores of like 30 and 40 million... But, I had a blast playing it even when I sucked.
I do think I figured out the strategy at the end though. Rip the spinner. Stack Frankenstein multiball. And also never shoot Frank from the right flipper. Shoot him from the left. Less chance to drain down the middle with a left flip... Less chance... But, still possible.
Really just kudos to CGC for such a great game. And friendly staff at the expo.
Otherwise I never would have bought this wonderful game.

FWIW I was told by my distributor that LE's would start shipping in November, when I asked today. This seems to match what others are reporting on this thread.

Craig,

Would it be appropriate for you give me an approximate number of each configuration you have sold so far?

Thanks.

I just locked in my L E today. Said they don't start production until November 19th. Expect delivery around the end of the year or the first of next year. Seems like a life time to wait.

I'm in for the LE also. Cactus Canyon was mentioned in passing for a possible remake. I would like to get one of those also. I really like the western theme. Does anyone here like CC?

Also, are any of you paying taxes along with shipping? I went with a distributor out of state so no taxes and shipping for $100 as the game will be shipped from Illinois. I was glad of that as taxes in Illinois are depressing, to say the least.

#276 5 years ago

Anyone finding a distro that will give you free shipping or some discount if you use paypal friends and family (or a check so they aren't paying credit card fees?) If so please PM me who. Thanks!!

I ordered the SE and was told the games would be at the distributor in 2 weeks, plus shipping time to me I am guessing a week. So hopefully mid November

#279 5 years ago

I can’t believe there is a 6K version of this game. Everyone up to this point that I’ve seen listed has been 10K asking price. Just wow.

In for a matching # L.E. to my AFMrLE. Can't wait!

Well I'm officially in! MBr LE. Just couldn't say no.

Cointaker btw - super smooth as always. Highly recommended if you're looking for a NIB.

Super smooth my ass. My buddy called 3 times to put an order in for a MBRLE this week so far and not even a return phone call. And he is local.

really? sorry to hear - I know they were very busy earlier in the week due to expo.

#287 5 years ago

I heard that my dealer is out of LE's too.

I had a verbal order in to him 4 months ago though, so I had no issues.

I think that the first allocation of LE's may be close to selling out, but not the entire 1250#.

My guess is that the dealers are calling CGC and asking for another allocation. That allocation is probably after the SE run, then the first LE run, the next SE and CE run...then the LE run #2.

So if you don't get in on the first LE run, you probably won't get an LE until January.

I just checked in Pinside Market, and there are 2 vendors that say they have LE's to sell.

I was one of the folks who signed a NDA to play the game in August and following this I immediately contacted Cointaker to get my name on the list.
Spoke to Melissa on Monday of this week and she said their LE allocation was spoken for and that things were pretty hectic.

#290 5 years ago

I was also one of the NDA's, I like the pin a lot however I have 2 problems, the first being a big one making room and what I would sell. I can't at this point.

The 2nd is I bought the AFMr SE ( I thought is was a good value over the ce) and was looking to do the same here but I don't see the value of the extra $1,300 for the SE . I think the AFMr was only like $700 more than the ce. LE is out, my basement ceiling is to short and toppers are not my thing anyway.

I’ve had good luck with wire transfers and a few distributors. Pm me.

#292 5 years ago

I had to email the warranty card for my AFMR to get the priority on MBR. I generally don’t bother registering unless there is an issue. We host thanksgiving for several friends and their families along with our extended family, and pinball is the main event. I’m hoping it shows up in time, but it doesn’t sound likely. The kids would love MB.

I sent them 2 e-mails inquiring about MBR and no answer either. I went with another distributor and am glad that I did as I stated above that shipping will be only $100 so I'm glad they didn't reply.

#294 5 years ago

I have 3 remaining if anyone else is still searching for a MBr LE.
PM me.

#295 5 years ago

Im #10 on the list at my distributor for non matching MBrLE... whoohoo! Maybe by xmas is not a dream after all?

#296 5 years ago

Stoked to be in for an LE. I'm usually more of a purist, but my thought is you are receiving quite a bit of value for not a lot of extra money compared to the SE. If I end up not liking the art engraved lock down bar, I can always replace it. Similarly, if I don't like the topper, I can remove it. I could likely sell the topper to someone that bought an SE and make up the difference in what I paid for the LE. I'm still pretty sure I'll like it all. I'm not looking for a debate here, this is merely to offer an idea for those that may be torn between ordering an LE or an SE.

Great choice....not sure if MBRLE is the same as AFMRLE, but if it is theres an additional board that controls the topper.

#298 5 years ago

For those who also have a AFMr, is it the same/recommended to hook up an external sub (alligator clips to speaker) or not even needed. LE on order.

I didn’t on my AFM SE because I didn’t think it needed it, but there are multiple schools of thought on sound and sound quality. It just was not something that was of interest to me.

So, what leg protectors (if any) are you planning to install on your new machine?
