Not sure what kind of camera or settings you are using, but here's my CE with just a blue trough light taken with a pixel xl2, no flash, pitch black room. It's not dark at all.

I know Pinball Life is working on one to make available.

Remakes are fantastic - my most reliable games by a mile - so. I have so I sold my MB and patiently await MBR!

Now a proud owner of a MBr Classic! Love it. Plays perfect with no adjustments needed! Set the level to mid way in the bubble bars, leveled side to side. Fun great game. Can’t wait for mirror blades to come out and the chip to make the display full color. I traded my Iron Man for this pin, (loved that fast game) but the smile on my wife’s was what I needed to see to solidify my choice.

Congrats on your new MBR. Nice lineup of games you have there!

So I just filed a ticket, but maybe someone here has an idea to help -

Frank won't go back up. It's almost like the motor is struggling to lift him up. He will rise (at most) up to 0.5 inches or so before stopping. There is a high pitched sound as well as the flashing playfield light as he goes to move down or up, and the sound and flashing continues while he is stopped in the middle of trying to go back up. I don't see or feel anything really binding there, just seems to take a little effort and it almost seems as if the motor is just too weak. If I "help" him up he will continue on his own after a bit once he is closer to the top back-laying position again.

Anyone?

Quoted from elf70:

Frank won't go back up.

Take a look at the table and moving parts. A tiny drop of oil where you have metal to metal contact. Run him up and down in tests a few times and he should be fine.

If not, please report back on your ticket.

I alerted your ticket to me. If you post on your ticket that it still doesn't work, I'll alert it to the engineers.

The best Button Protectors are from titanpinball. Full removable

Just got 3 sets today for my MMr, AFMrLE & MBrLE - super easy to install and adjust. Priced right, love them.

Have you used the ones from Titan Before on any pins?

The shaker is very underwhelming in the game. It’s barely active and not worth it for this game. I notice it on Frankenstein mb and the match sequence. Much better on AFMr and mmr.

That’s very disappointing considering how long it took them to remake monster bash

I have to agree with you on this.

#1768 5 years ago

Underwhelming or not, I’m still glad it’s there

#1769 5 years ago

Here is a really inexpensive idea for button protectors. I cut out some cling vinyl. It sticks to the cabinet without glue and comes off without damage. Purchased at Walmart for a few bucks.

Agreed. It should go off every time you hit Dracula, but it doesn’t. Should go off every time a mode is started, but it doesn’t. Should go off in mosh pit, it doesn’t.

#1771 5 years ago

What setting are you guys using for the shaker? I turned the shaker setting to Max. It seems to be the best setting for my game.

#1772 5 years ago
Quoted from Lermods:

When I went to Chicago Gaming for the "NDA" review, the engineer told me they had not programmed the shaker yet and were concerned it would be over applied. I told him I thought the shaker on MMR was well executed and thought a shaker on MBR would be great. Doesn't the max setting apply it to more shots?

#1773 5 years ago

Max setting as far as I can tell increases the intesity of the shaking. Maybe it does both?

#1774 5 years ago

My shaker is from AP and works great. I have it on the lower setting. Love it!

#1775 5 years ago

I have turned the shaker off in both MM and AFM - for some reason I just don’t enjoy it on the remakes. Since my MB isn’t an LE, I won’t be adding a shaker.

Otherwise the game is just awesome.

#1776 5 years ago

Maybe they will implement the shaker more in a future software update. Fingers crossed.

#1777 5 years ago

I actually think the shaker integrates well with AFM and it really adds to the experience when blowing up the saucers. With MB, I wouldn't miss it at all. The color changing GI is were the remake really shines on MB.

Quoted from bigdaddy07:

I agree. I love the shaker on both MMr and AFMr. On MMr I wish it went off on locking balls to match the DMD animation though.

Recently I was able to unbox an Monster Bash LE created by Chicago Gaming. Monster Bash is an old game created by Williams and was remade by Chicago Gaming. The game looks great. All new LEDS, plasma display in the back by the bride toy, new LED Color DMD, topper, and speaker lights just to name a few updated mods to the game.

I didn’t get that stuff with my SE... just some extra flipper rubber, fuses and flipper guage.

You would think they would throw in at least a key fob. Oh well...

Thanks Lloyd, that seemed to do the trick. I'm just always hesitant to use oil on any game but with your encouragement I proceeded to use a drop of superlube synthetic with ptfe on the 4 different places I saw. The pivot axis on both sides of Frank's table, and both the top and bottom (under PF) joint of the arm coming up from the motor. Still seems like its asking a lot of the motor output (is that normal on these?), but its smooth and functioning now, yay!

My bag too seemed kinda minimal but functional. It contained: fuses, flipper gap plastic, and a small (quarter-sized?) plastic key fob (LE Bonus?). No rubber parts or anything.

What song is that in the intro of your video? Shazam does not pick it up. Thanks for the video.

Additional times the shaker goes off is when mummy mode is started, when drac is hit during his mode, making a jackpot, and at the end of the game when the match for replay happens.

So to those of you who have MBr now...would you take that game over a JJP POTC? Is it worth it?

#1790 5 years ago
Quoted from NightTrain:

I don't own JJP's version of POTC, but I like the original hand-drawn animation of the '90s over visuals from a movie in most cases. POTC has much deeper codes and almost guarantees that you will never get bored with it. I like the pirate theme as I have a Stern POTC. I considered getting a JJP POTC but that is a lot of money even though it's worth it as it's been said, it's like 5 different games of POTC (one for each movie). I'll stick with MB for now (whenever they get around to delivering mine) but down the road, I would like a JJP, POTC very much.

Quoted from NightTrain:

Yup. I set out to buy JJP POTC. Then I played it. Now ... it’s a beautiful game ... seriously... it’s an amazingly beautiful product. It’s a very complex game ... and probably an awesome game for a really good pinball player. I’m not that good... admittedly. So I found JJP POTC difficult to enjoy. I was also not impressed by the soundtrack of POTC... it just wasn’t great to me.. I felt like it should have been more impactful for a Pirates themed pin. This could entirely be because I wasn’t able to progress very far in the game... but it wasn’t doing it for me. It’s also a very expensive machine. When the cost begins to exceed 8K... it starts to become a bit more of a difficult purchase.

Enter Monster Bash... a game that is just fun... no matter how good (or not) you are. So bang for the buck... the value is there for me. Pirates really frustrated me and I didn’t want to buy a new pin, spend all that cash and have it frustrate me right out of the box. So MB fit me better all around. Maybe one day when I get better ... I can appreciate POTC... but for now, MB is just perfect.

This is bang on the money for the stuff you want to consider. MB is really fun, immediately out of the box - but it is indeed also very shallow. You need a game like that in a collection though. Probably not if it’s your only game, but you can’t have every pin be an hour-long slog. IMO your best bet right now is to go for MBr, keep it a year or so, then sell it and buy a POTC when the code has been brought up to the level of Hobbit (which is now out of this world good, and better balanced for new players)

I'm getting tired of the empty spot in my gameroom.. Anybody in the unmatched category get any word? I talked with Sara briefly and they said they would have a better idea later in the week. Anyone in the matching category still waiting on their game??

Hmmm, I got extra flipper rubbers but no key fob. Would rather have the fob. Possibly a LE benefit.

I'd be frustrated as well....in theory they are building these in order, but I was told last week that they are jumping numbers in order to make shipping to distributors more efficient, which actually makes sense....
