Quoted from gorditas:

I have the Mirrored Backglass on my MMr and MBr. Both are very well done. I found that on MB, choosing the "mirrors playfield GI" for the backglass gives it the most pop: the mirrored sections really come alive when things dim.

Oh cool. Thanks for tip and info.

#9102 3 months ago
Quoted from KidDynamite:

Cool, is the CCr mirrored backglass the same manufacturer as the Monster Bash? Also, I’m curious to know if the MB mirrored glass fits okay in the remake if you do end up getting one.

Yup, cpr, fit fine in the stock remake trim. I thought MMr has some fitment issues in the original trim? But haven’t done mine on MMr yet

Is the start button supposed to be lit? I noticed last night that mine wasn't.

Nevermind... Turned it on this morning and it's flashing now. Must be a loose connection somewhere.

I read elsewhere that the creature is supposed to move, is that true? I’ve never noticed that on my machine or any others I’ve played.

If so, what causes the creature to move?

I know the metal sheet it’s affixed to is flexible, but mine just hangs motionless. How far behind the playfield should it hang? Mine is like this:

He just moves from the natural sway of the machine. He doesn’t move much. Basically impossible to see it during a game. The way the flashers are positioned near him can be
improved - you can try some different angles and this enhances the perceived movement. But don’t spend a lot of time on it

Curious to know what the factory flipper alignment is or where people’s flippers are set. I see the holes in the playfield near the flipper tips, just not sure what that indicates.

On mine the holes are on the side of the flipper facing the backbox and are right at the edge of the bottom of the flipper. I've seen it's different from game to game. Indy has them on the opposite side of the flipper. Godzilla doesn't have holes but dimples that the flipper tips point to. I'm not even sure my Toy Story 4 has these marks.

Across all my games these playfield markings are good for seeing at a glance if the flippers are mostly aligned but I've found I get even better results putting a straight edge on the ball guide leading to the flipper, have the straight edge run across the flipper bat and rubber and then adjust the flipper so there is an even amount of a gap between the flipper rubber and the straight edge all the way across the flipper bat. That seems to help reduce ball hops during the transition from the ball guide to the flipper and keeps the ball momentum consistent as it travels across the flipper.

The mummy sarcophagus did not open, moved a bit, buzzing sound but still closed.
Took out the mech, added WD40 on the moving parts (of course NOT the coil and plunger).
Result: perfect open/close of the sarcophagus

Thanks for the advice, mine are set in a similar location to yours.

Couple questions:
1) Are Frank’s arms supposed to be up or down when he’s lying down? I place pics of the 3 possible positions.

2) Is the Mummy supposed to buzz when active? Sarcophagus appears to function perfect.

Thanks, guys. You’ve been a big help so far.

Down
And mummy may have a buzz when the coil is active. Depends on what is buzzing and how loud

Yep, my mummy (when active) buzzes as well.

I’ll go snap a pic, but the tab should go through the table.

Edit: ha I’m wrong, the arms do go “down” but not down like I thought. They still stay elevated when he lays down.

Speaking of buzzing, when I got my MBr last month I noticed when going through some of the menus that when I adjusted the backbox GI brightness to anything other than max I would get this hum/buzzing sound out of the speakers. The tone and volume of the buzz would change depending on the brightness amount. At the time I tried looking around to see if anyone else had this issue on a MBr but didn't find anything. It hasn't been much of a problem since I just run the backbox GI brightness at 100% and it's fine.

Today though I hooked up an under cabinet lighting kit from Mezel Mods which is powered off the 12v of the solenoid driver board and it causes this hum/buzzing as well. The 2 strips are RGB and if I set them to a color where any of the 3 RGB diodes are set at to anything other than 100% or off the hum/buzzing occurs.

What could be causing this and is there something I can do to address it?

I also noticed when I got this machine the volume range on it is pretty loud. Like volume level 2 is good, anything above that it gets really loud so I wondered if that might have something to do with this as well.

Hello, I’m getting the error ‘check switch 18 shooter lane’ code. I’ve played around with the contact (metal paper clip like thing) and thought i fixed (so it was not in always in contact). But even then the ball save and multiball were still delayed in plunging. The error came back again.

Sorry, I’m pretty new. Wasn’t sure if I’m messing with the right thing or if it’s something else; what other tests to run? I have a friend that rebuilds machines, I’m sure he can help but looking for some direction on what the issue is. Thank you!!

Thanks!

Quoted from dtmail209:

‘check switch 18 shooter lane’ code.

Ball kicks up out of ball trough. Goes to shooter lane. Switch #18 Shooter Lane switch is there.

Go to Tests - Switch Edge - roll a ball from the rear to the front to close the switch. Does it register on the screen ? Does it stay closed ?

May need simple adjusting.

Thanks for the advice. Agree, I’ve messed with it enough and still haven’t fixed it…I am probably making it worse. Thanks!

Mine defiantly wiggles back and forth and it is easy to see. It looks like your creatures hand is touching another part on the machine.
Try bending the metal strip down away from the play field a bit to free him up, He will wiggle!

Music question...is it possible to turn off the music rif that plays in between players? We usually have several games going at once and that repetitive music becomes annoying if your busy on another game. What problems huh?

#9125 3 months ago

Curious where everyone keep their outline posts? All the way up; middle; all the way down? Thanks!

#9126 3 months ago

I keep mine about 1/4 of the way down, so mostly - but not completely - open.

Cool. Yeah I moved them all the way down/closed. Haven’t had a sign drain yet - way too easy.

Mine are currently all the way down. My machine loves to drain on the left outlane.

May be attract? Try turning that but the music between players and a ball waiting may be normal music so you’d need to pop the coin door and turn it down or mute switch

Mine default, game is rough! Idk my game maybe I should move them down to make it enjoyable….. wife would probably like it more and maybe I could actually get far

Yeah agree. I put a few more games on it and go some out-lane drains, which is good. I am going to leave it there for my family as I agree, they should have more ball time and unlock more of the modes

Hello, I have a question. I would buy MB le, but total plays says 24 second owner.

I know that this isn’t real. Can they easy reset the total plays? Is this a risk to buy?

#9132 3 months ago
Quoted from Johan:

Can they easy reset the total plays?

You mean like go into Utilities and reset audits and stuff ? Do a factory reset ?

Yup, easy to do.

Amount of plays doesn't matter. It always comes down to condition.

Has anyone installed the real glass backglass from Marco into their MBr?

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/31-1357-50065-G

I think this is the same as the CPR backglass.

I have had issues with having the correct size trim set to fit with the real backglasses since they tend to be fairly thick.

Not MBr but I put in a cpr glass on ccr. It fit but the trim was tight.

#9136 77 days ago

It would be great if the various backglass trim sets (System 11, WPC, WPC-95, DE/Stern) had thickness of the channel opening actually listed as attributes.

I bought system 11 backglass trim for my cpr t2 mirrored backglass and it fit like a glove. The stock trim was wayyyyy to tight.

Can someone with a Limited Edition please take a picture of the plasma disc with normal lighting? I’m trying to determine how it is painted.

I bought an after market plasma disk and I hate the ring around it so I’m trying to make one similar to what is in the LE…

I’ve seen photos online but they tend to be when the game is running and it’s lit..That makes it hard to see what it really looks like.

Thank you!!

I originally had designed a 3D version of it which I 3D printed, but when I saw an actually real photo of the piece I realized it isn’t 3D and is in fact a sticker…so I’ve worked on that. In the end I had to 3D print a new rim for the plasma disk and applied my decal

I don’t feel right trying to sell this, it was a personal mod and I don’t want to get into any issues with CGC since it’s their art/concept
