Quoted from Outlanes:

I've seen streams and tons of people have played the game, if the clear was that bad we would have heard by now.
Far more likely a camera issue or isolated thing. I'd be blown away to find a playfield actually shipped that way.

That's my thought as well. I'm not scheduled to get mine until Feb/March so if there is an issue, it should be well known by then

Quoted from seenev:

I heard they have the trainees working on the CEs, recent hires working on the SEs, and experienced employees working on the LEs. Don't quote me on that though because I just made it up.

LOL!

I just put on a coat of wax and am ready to play. Powered up and it is absolutely a home run. Lighting is unbelievable. I will post pictures, but video and pics do not even come close to what you see in person. I purchased MMR and AFMRse and this machine blows them away on fit and finish. I will report back on playability soon. Enjoy the pics for now. Oh yeah it is an SE.

Waxed with Novus3. Just a joke. I used Blitz 1 Grand. The playfield looked that good before the wax. Couldn’t tell any difference in appearance when I was finished. I wouldn’t worry about new CGC employees building machines. There isn’t much difference between the SE and LE except the shaker and a topper and topper board. Doesn’t take a genius to plug in a topper and Shaker. Anyone with one of these on order no matter what trim line are in for a real treat. The colors on the playfield are really rich and the way they blend / tranisition from one color to another is stunning.

#709 1 year ago

Oh yeah! So excited to get mine...

#710 1 year ago

Dammit quit getting me excited. First NiB. Chomping at the bit.

#711 1 year ago

Damn!!! I was already excited but now im getting a little bit of anxiety over here..

#712 1 year ago

WOW absolutely gorgeous playfield ...thx for the pics.

#713 1 year ago

Me too, zablon, first “in the box” new. My FGy had only 250 plays on it, but it was not NIB. This thing looks so shiny... and new... and that first dimple is going to make me cry a single, sweet tear... of joy! It’s that first moon crater that’s going to make me openly weep, however.

plunger069, congrats... she is a beauty.

Quoted from Zablon:

I know more than 1 person has their MB...surely if it was an issue we'd have heard about it by now.
I'm not seeing whatever it is - just that main pic by the Alice cooper pic?
This? That's just the artwork...
[quoted image]

To me it just looks like the reflection from the florescent light cover causing the wave look. Bad angle/lighting choice?

#715 1 year ago

Just noticed 2 things.

1 - drain hole has a piece of mylar next to the Cliffy....great if they put that there CGC

2- Blue bumper on left side where the Creature is ....it's a big piece, not like the one's that Stern is using now.

Hat's off to CGC....and it's gorgeous

#716 1 year ago

Hmmm, it appears Elvira and Wonder Woman are missing in the translite - was this noticed already on repro translites?

There’s actually no Mylar next to the blue bumper. That was a reflection or something. It sure looks like it in the pic though. We have played 25 games so far. No adjustments of any kind needed. With the pitch set to 7 degrees it is playing flawless.

#719 1 year ago

I have a question. What are these 4 metal pieces in the playfield?

They hold one of the large mechanisms under the playfield. Same as the original - they are pop-bumper type screws.

It is right now that a whole bunch of pinheads are wishing they could alter time, speed up the harvest, or teleport themselves to Maine NY... that or they are wishing they bought a CE to play until their LE arrives, and then sell the CE for $5800 cash and carry once the LE gets there in January... now why didn’t I think of that in October?!?

Everyone else’s pics will put mine to shame but they are! It really is gorgeous in person, they did a great job!

Interestingly it looks like my play field was originally intended for a LE? It’s got a sticker saying it’s 28/1000.

Also, thoughts on serial numbers? I think the first digit must mean it’s an SE no? Meaning I got SE #2 off the line, I think. (Considering they’ve only made 150 SEs so far, there’s no way 2001 machines came before it).

I don't think 28/1000 equates to being an LE (pretty sure their are 1250 LE's) . The playfields are probably produced in batch's of 1000. Playfields I'm sure are identical between all models..

I was assuming he owned a shoe store, but yah I guess that could be a collection.

I'm sure they aren't payless shoes, so that means your lady has no room to ever complain about your pinball hobby. Lets say they are on the conservative side and ~$50 per pair, that's at least 10k in shoes with little tangible value. Especially since the resale on used shoes is probably near zero?

#733 1 year ago

Here is an observation that I have made after playing 20+ games last night.
CGC has the flipper feel perfect in comparison to MMr & AFMr. I owned both and just couldn’t seem to love the feel of either. The flipper feel is super smooth and you are able to catch and control the ball. No air balls or clunky feeling.
I have made zero adjustments to the way it came out of the box. Hopefully there are others that will have such a positive experience.

I agree. That's been my experience with ours too.

This will be my first remake and my only concern is the boardset, especially having that one mounted under the playfield. Have there been any issues on MMr or AFMr with these? I hope they will have the longevity and repair-ability a typical old boardset has.

#738 1 year ago
Quoted from BOBCADE:

Have there been any issues on MMr or AFMr with these?

Darn few if any. Only one I run into on rare occasions is on MMR. The three driver boards under the playfield that plug into the huge board have a row of ten pins along one edge. When you get a new MMR, if coils aren't working, be sure those pins are seated in tight. Usually unscrew board, remove a little, and shove back in does it.

AFMR had an issue early on which was cured with the PIC 2.0 update. On some games with the earlier PIC, if you changed coils settings from default it may blow a fuse or hurt the board. Board is an easy change and CGC promptly provided you a new one.

LTG : )

#739 1 year ago

I owned both for over a year, no problems at all with those boards.

270lbs is what was listed as the shipping weight

My AFMLE is noticeably heavier than my IMDN premium. IMDN was a breeze to move into my gameroom.

Bit too much concern over something that may never happen. When you buy a car or any house appliance do you say "I hope they will have the longevity and repair-ability a typical old boardset has" about the electronics? The tec and manufacturing of the PCBs is similar. I do not think there is anything to worry about here. We will have a definite answer in the next 20 years!

I figure at least I am not trying to keep a 20 year old MB working for another 20 years...
