Yup, major difference! Looking for an MMr to buy but I will get a AFMr if I can't find one.
Stupid money asked for a MB keytag on Ebay, bought this pair for 17 bucks.[quoted image][quoted image]

I shared this in an earlier post:

Monster Bash is based off all the classic monsters from universal studios. There were several series released of those monsters in action figures, toys, etc. I think they are the best matches to the pin. If you google or look up on eBay "universal studios monsters" or individual names (Dracula, Frankenstein, wolfman, the mummy, bride of Frankenstein, creature from the black lagoon, etc) you can find a lot of goodies...including these key fob/chains:

Done with Ebay, made the mistake of signing up for Paypal who then froze my CC.
They now want another card so I guess they can void that one also.
I closed my Ebay account and blocked all emails from them.
Now I cannot buy from any seller that uses PayEnemy.
I guess Ebay is controlled by PayEnemy and can do nothing to fix the problem.

Tons of stuff also on Etsy. In fact, it's easier to find certain items on there vs. Ebay

Installed shaker from Cointaker today and added a CFTBL slingshot plastic to the apron.

I got these mini Funko Pop figures off eBay. It wouldn’t take much to turn them into keychains. (I know, the Mole Man isn’t in the game, but the invisible Man is, you just can’t see him)

I made a search for "Creature hole" in this topic without results, so I guess I am allowed to ask the question here, hopefully the matter is not already discussed to death - is there a Creature hole protector available and if so, please give advice where to get it. Atleast cliffy doesn't seem to have one.

Thanks!

#7209 3 years ago

Never needed one. Never had wear on previous owned MB's . No wear at all on my LE. If worried, 3m mylar would protect the hole.

Believe it or not, it's not really needed. That hole just doesn't get much traffic. I have a playfield from an original Williams MB, in which the scoop hole was just TRASHED - it looks like a huge oval instead of the roughly square shape. Drac trac is slightly damaged; area around the pops slightly worn. The creature hole is perfect.

whats the latest code rev? I think I'm at 1.06b

Check the first screen in the CGC menu. I don't think 1.06b exists.

That is the Williams code.

Don't go by it. It never changes. Go into the CGC menu. Page 1-10 in your manual. When you are in there the first screen shows what you are on.

1.0.3 is the latest. There were some nice updates in the latest code.

You can find the instructions for installing it here...

Lane guide LEDs were way too hard on the eyes so I added white condoms.
Much better.

I’m having an issue with the ball frequently getting stuck behind the scoop for the creature of the black lagoon. If I move the guide rail on the right or the bracket holding the sign above, it will release the ball with ease. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

It looks like you just need to tweak one side of the guide a bit to stop the ball from wedging in there.

I have not done anything like that before. How would I go about making that adjustment? Thanks for your reply.

Underneath the playfield locate the nuts that hold the guides, loosen them and move the guide over and tighten the nuts while holding the guide over.
Don't over tighten! Just snug is fine.

I recently picked up a MBr LE. Having a blast with it, but have a few kinks to work out. My son and I have noticed that the sinkhole ejects the ball straight down the drain about 30-40% of the time, a real bummer. Is this by intention? I would rather have 100% of the balls come out somewhere playable. Can anyone suggest a fix? I am wondering if I did not get the legs of the table even when I assembled it, so it may be draining to the right of how it was programmed.

Thanks to all of you who have written great posts on MB.

Just add a spring washer to the coil to tighten it up. It worked for me 100% of the time.

Here are 3 things you could try for the scoop SDTM issues:

1) increase the R Popper strength.

2) https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/monster-bash-remake-mbr-owners-club/page/86#post-4879879

3) https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/monster-bash-remake-mbr-owners-club/page/99#post-4916947

#3 is your best option IMO

I had the same issue and increasing the popper strength took care of it. It is an easy solution and definitely one to try first.

do your side rails have counter sunk screws along them? Is this a new thing for CGC? A lot of older photos of the games show smooth rails (no screws).

#7227 3 years ago

Thanks a lot. I decided to go with option #2, just putting a little built-up tape on the right underside of the scoop. Easy-peasy if it works.

#7228 3 years ago

Gameplay question from a MB newbie: Diabolical Directions include:
Monster Items: Shoot Mosh Pit to collect them. USE MONSTER ITEMS BY HITTING LAUNCH BUTTON DURING FEATURES FOR EASIER SCORING.
Does this mean you are supposed to pump the launch button while ball is in play? For example, during "It's Alive" multiball or Drac Attack?

I was going to try and type you some instructions, but it would take me all night!

Download the rules from here...

Read about the Monster Bombs, Scoop shots and how each monster mode works. It is easy to understand once you figure it out. It all revolves around collecting the bombs and using them during a monster mode by hitting the launch button if it is flashing during an active monster mode.

Yes, mine do. But I'm not sure if this is new for CGC. I would have guessed no since the remakes have stayed pretty close to the original in many ways and I would have assumed that applied to the cabinet hardware.

Looking at photos of earlier models they clearly didn't have the screws. I wonder why they added this.

MBrLE #134, thanks to Sara at PPS. Only a few of these left! Can’t believe it took this long to sell out, one of the most beautiful games ever made!

I would love to have all 3. MB is my favorite theme but I love playing AFM for some reason. All three games are fantastic though. I really want Elvira 3 but I'm afraid of getting a shitty playfield so I may pass and get a MB or a AFM.

That’s pretty cool! I might buy one of those if I knew where. I like the bat.

#7239 3 years ago
Quoted from Budman:

I think I would rather have a MMR, AFMR, or a MBR over CC so that wont bother me any.

#7240 3 years ago

I used to think the same until I watched a couple of gameplay vids and a review by SDTM.
There seems to be “ more to do” on CC than the others. It’s a very close call for me.
I used to own AFMLE so that makes the decision a touch easier.

#7241 3 years ago
Quoted from LukyDuck:

The bat is apparently an earring, easy to add. Lights in the eyes would look better to flash when Drac is hit, will see if there is a safe way to do this.

I just want thank this thread for making it easy to install the knocker in my mbr. The game is pre drilled for the kit and it took seconds to assemble. For those of you that are considering adding the knocker, I would suggest the spooky knocker kit, but it MUST BE MODIFIED.

When I installed it, I didn't realize the diode must be cut or removed or it will blow the f4 fuse. Fortunately, the goody bag had a few extra fuses and it was an easy fix, but I sure was surprised when the game died. I reread the knocker section of this thread a few times before I found the part about removing the diode so I am mentioning it again with some photos.

Thanks again pinside.

That's great, but if you could point to a source for the kit you used, that would be helpful.

Also, did you have to rig a new connector of any kind? And did you need to change the settings to enable it?

It comes with everything you need, including connectors and screws. The backbox is already drilled for it. Just plug it in, cut the diode and turn off the knocker sound in the adjustments.

Sounds like a bull whip.

What happens with the Audible Knocker? Is it turned off in setting? When in the game does the knocker activate?

Is anyone aware whether, or how easily a CGC MB playfield will work in an OG MB?

#7249 3 years ago
Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:

Is anyone aware whether, or how easily a CGC MB playfield will work in an OG MB?

For starters, CGC used LEDs but that’s not the first hurdle. The wiring is based on a different board set entirely so it most definitely would not be ‘plug-n-play.’

#7250 3 years ago
Quoted from Lounge:

The CGC has the huge LED PCB on the underside, so I expect it wouldn’t share all mounting/screw in points.

Probably more clarification needed... I have a new CGC MB playfield which I’ll possibly just use as wall art, but if it was to be used, could it be be put in an OG? I’m assuming yes, with some modification.
