Quoted from Nepi23:

I unboxed my MBR LE today and I was surprised to notice that the build quality seems to be on another level in comparison to my MMR Standard or even JJP POTC - it was that good! Really impressed!

- Welcome to the club! I picked up a used SE a few months back and am tremendously impressed with the CGC quality...and the game is an all time classic.

Helsinki, huh?! What a fantastic city! My employer HQ is in downtown...maybe next time I travel there for work (assuming it will eventually happen again), I may have to try and invite myself to check out your excellent collection

Yes, feel free to send me a PM, when you are in town next time! Your collection is awesome!

Had to go to Fontucky to get the game and a pallet of peanut butter fell over in the trailer so we waited the 2 hours for them to clean the mess to get to the game.
Damn game sat down there since the 24th and the only way to get it was to drive down there an hour each way.
For the price you would think it would come with a keytag. :/
Anywho it is here and looks and plays great!

New to the club as of this week. Kids played for 2 hours straight yesterday.

A few questions for you guys (Either couldn’t find or missed these in the manual)

1) the lcd has this simulated led/dot thing happening. Is there a way to make it so it behaves like and lcd, and not like an lcd simulating an led / dmd?

2) I can’t get the volume to go below 8 and it’s still pretty loud. Is that normal? Why won’t it go below 8?

3) what do you guys recommend in terms of cliffys and shooter lane protection? This thing is huo but I’d like to keep it as mint as possible. It looks like there is some Cliffy-like thing around the scoop from the factory.

Sorry if these qs have been asked in this thread before or answered in the manual, but I couldn’t find them with whatever search terms I chose.

Thanks!

1) don’t think so, it’s not the same as ColoDMD

2) in the adjustments menu there is a minimum volume override you will need to set in order to allow it to go quieter

3) mezelmods sells a plastic shooter lane protector, I just installed it yesterday. Seems to work great for original or CGC MB

On the scoop - if it’s got a Cliffy on it already, you should consider the Mantis protector. It goes inside the scoop and gives you a hard metal lip which protects the wood. Lined up correctly, you don’t need the top-of-playfield Cliffy (although it doesn’t hurt to have both)

Can someone please point me in the right direction of where to buy replacement flipper rubbers?

Or

Titan Silicon rubber rings. The perfect play ones on pinballlife are my favorite

I'm a big fan of their green plastic protectors, they look great when lit up.

Ok, here’s another one

When I dead flip, the flipper kind of bounces or reacts, almost like it does a small, weak flip when the ball kits it. The physics are weird and unlike any other pin I’ve owned.

Anyone else experience that?

Deleted post. Was thing of a different pin.

#7163 3 years ago

Noticed something weird...once in a while my MBr will not play the "knocker" sound when a free game is earned (either from points, or from a match).

For example, when it goes through the match sequence, if I happen to "match", you will hear Drac say "You're cool...like me.", and usually it will play the "replay knocker sound". But once in a while (maybe 1 out of a dozen matches or so), you will get the same audio clip, but no knocker sound.

Since this is all just software (there is no actual knocker), one would think it would play that sound every time it matches.

Obviously, it is not a big deal, I'm just curious if others have noticed the same thing.

Shooter lane glare is obnoxious so my daughter cut some bats out of electrical tape.
They work great!

Anyone install a shooter lane protector on their machine? Which is the best one and are there instructions?

My MBr SE came with both a Cliffy type and a Kerry (Mantis) type installed.
Not going to pay 50 bucks on Fleebay for a MB keytag, got a pair Creech and Universal Monsters for 17 bucks.
Game plays sweet, had to adjust Drac's coffin other than that no problems so far.
I might get AFMr SE next unless I can find a SSTIF in So Cal.

#7168 3 years ago

Ok, finally had my first major problem, but I fear it is a trough opto... I am getting double balls fed to shooter lane when a game starts... I havent checked the switch matrix yet, but I have a feeling on what I will find. Does the MBrLE trough use opto's? I figure they probably do since the original one did, I believe.

#7169 3 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

Does the MBrLE trough use opto's?

Yes.

A few things to check. Is the shooter lane switch stuck down or binding in the slot in the playfield, and launch plunger isn't hitting the switch ? Only four balls in the game ?

Then turn the game off. Reseat the connectors to the ball trough boards and be sure they are pushed on tight.

LTG : )

#7170 3 years ago

Thanks Loyd... it healed itself... so Im thinking loose connector was the likely culprit.
I pushed them on good for good measure.

Yep! Cliffy is your man. Passionforpinball.com and I am fairly sure there are instructions on his website. If you choose these make sure you get the right ones.

900 games, still looks like new.

I've been trying for years, but have never been able to get it. And I HAVE gotten the 666 award in a regular game, but Lyman's Lament? forget it!

It seems like getting the 666 would be harder, as you have to get the timing just right (and not accidentally start a monster too soon). All you need for Lament is a really long/good game.

I haven't gotten either yet. Best I have done is 5 of the 6 (and that was really just luck), and 30 venues. But I've only owned my machine for about 6 months.

I'll get there someday.

Let’s see... you have to get Drac, Bride, Creature, Mummy and Wolf Man modes started, and get Frank to start while they are all still running. It’s just a quick surprise award, but the DMD gets this “666!” Animation on it

#7178 3 years ago

Has anyone hooked up a subwoofer to their machine? I used pinnovator on my LE but there is barely any bass coming out from the sub. No problems with my other machines.

Aaah, I see - I’ve been close then. I’ve had 5 monsters going but not all.

Thanks for the education.

Yes, I use the pinnovators mixer and pinsub on my game, sounds awesome. Definitely makes a noticeable difference. Maybe you dont have it connected properly?

#7181 3 years ago

So picked up a NIB LE from coin taker. First time I picked one up at their facility. A really great place they have and worth a visit. a lot of vision for their business.

So first thing, the game had dust all over it when I opened. Number 98 with a build date of August 2019. This bad boy haas been sitting somewhere for a year. Not at Cointaker as they just got it in. Will be interesting to see how a year of cure time on the play field will impact dimpling.

A really nice package. The Topper is outstanding and a big addition to the overall game presentation. I can not get over the wooden box it came in, definitely old school there!

I cranked up the back legs, left the game on no ball save and will leave the out lanes wide open. So far the game is a lot harder this way, hopefully with more staying power in the collection. Will play the game differently this time to attempt tp stack all six modes.

The new light show is an improvement as is the DMD/animations over a Stock original.

My first Remake. But I could see buying a CC or BBB, especially if they ad features.

Wouldn't it be great, IF CG hired one of the new young pinball guns to refresh the code? Imagine what that could look like with this package! They could sell it as a mod, I would be all over it.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue. I have messaged you and we will get this solved. As Lermods said, you should notice a difference for sure!

Is CGC making games at the moment? I noticed that AFM remakes are hard to find right now. Maybe Covid has the factory shut down? Seems to be plenty of MB left still.

MMrREs are getting out there so they must be making games. I think MM is better than MB. Just my opinion.

I would love to have all 3. MB is my favorite theme but I love playing AFM for some reason. All three games are fantastic though. I really want Elvira 3 but I'm afraid of getting a shitty playfield so I may pass and get a MB or a AFM.

The cgc remakes are insanely good. I highly recommend them.

If it's in-between MB and AFM, I would suggest MB.

Hey guys, is there a way to play 2-player on Monster Bash? If so how do you do it?

#7197 3 years ago
Quoted from BallPin:

Hey guys, is there a way to play 2-player on Monster Bash? If so how do you do it?

One to 4 players.

Have enough credits on the game or have it set on free play.

Push the start button once for each player you want going. Once, twice, thrice, fource.

I've played them both and both are amazing but I think I may give the edge to AFM which makes it tough on me because I love the MB theme and it has mad toys. Will play them both again to decide. Both games are just gorgeous though.

Yup, major difference! Looking for an MMr to buy but I will get a AFMr if I can't find one.
Stupid money asked for a MB keytag on Ebay, bought this pair for 17 bucks.
