Monster Bash LE - IAAPA SHOW

Chicago Gaming was at IAAPA with a couple Monster Bash LE's which both got sold. In fact every game they had was sold. The new Monster Bash is a complete GRAND SLAM! Everything about the game is better than the original... the only things you can pick on are why don't they add decals to the targets, or side blade art, or etc, etc.

From speaking with Doug its about the license.. but those are all things you can add down the road from mod suppliers...the other bone was wished the topper moved but oh well. The game is just a total home run. There are little things that yeah would make the game a bit cooler but man this game is awesome.

Chicago Gaming did tell me they plan on making games faster now... they have worked out all the bugs in production and the next games won't be hung up with licensing issues. I'd expect to see another new game from them in 6 months maybe. These guys are cooking now.

Great job Chicago Gaming.

How did CGC come to be, is it a spin off of Stern or is this a completely independent company that started from scratch? It feels like the responses to customer requests, updates and quality just seem off the chart compared to what I have seen in general from other companies for the short time I have been in this hobby. I am real excited for this game and as a customer in general I think other manufactures and distributors could learn some lessons from this company. So far CGC has got 5 stars from me on Communication, Quality and Service. I've played the game and love it, just wasn't comfortable paying the kind of money the original was pulling in the market. Now to have an opportunity to enjoy this game in my home will be great..

#505 5 years ago

Yes that would have been cool if the topper moved. The only Monster that they would have needed to have move is Frankenstein, moving his arms up and down would have been great. The other 2 could have stayed the same - not moving.

CGC is a division of Churchill Cabinet Company. Been around a long time making cabs and playfields

I spoke with Sara at Planetary Pinball. There is some hope that non-matching numbers will ship prior to Christmas. I thought I would pass it along. Obviously, there are no guarantees.

#511 5 years ago

Does anyone know the overall height of MBrLE with the topper ? Thanks

#512 5 years ago

I'm excited and can wait.

Quoted from Pizza-Bob:

Posted in a different thread. 83 to 84 inches.

They always say that I'd be shocked if I got my matching game by January....

Great looking and playing machine. Added some lighting and side blades. Thanks CGC! Can’t wait for the LE.

that large display looks so good in this game. Seems less pixelated than AFM?

Not sure about that, but it looks damn good. Such a cool format for a display.

I agree. I wish more manufacturers went this format over the standard LCD screens.

It looks like CGC shipped it on a nice pallet.

#524 5 years ago

Looks like LE's are selling at a ratio of almost 4 to 1 over the CE & SE combined.

Still waiting to hear about LE #34.

I believe it is an LCD emulating a DMD. The whole idea is to look old-school pixelated I would think. It does look good. Great job CGC!

Setup and playing perfect with no big surprises. Few random thoughts...

Trim has screws now to make it easy to swap out.

No keyfob in goody bag but they did include an extra set of flipper rubbers and lots of fuses.

Foam on underside made it a bit of a wobbly mess if you take it off the pallet before putting the legs on.

Dots are amazing.

Nice to see a factory installed protector on the center drain.

Mechs!

Sounds fine but I’m not super blown away by it. TNA and BoP 2.0 are more impressive.

Thank you! That's pretty awesome (and great pics!). I was debating getting a full playfield protector since the drac trac can be difficult to protect, but maybe I won't....

Ok I do have one small problem. Frank flashers arn’t working. I’ll have to try and figure it out later tonight. Guessing something may have just shaken loose during transport.

MMR did.

#543 5 years ago

Got my SE today. Comes with a Spiral bound manual.

#544 5 years ago

Setup my SE today and everything plays great. Only one problem and had this with my AFMr too. My Backbox speakers are really scratchy (almost like a blown cone but not). Any ideas on how to fix this?

#545 5 years ago

I would like to add that I as well talked with Sara yesterday and had my check cashed today. They told me I would be first out of the non matching group of LE's which would be first or 2 week of December so it could be possible before Christmas! I'm stoked this game looks amazing and what an exciting time.

#546 5 years ago

Nice, very nice indeed. I dare say CGC has their shit together, if I hadn’t sold one years ago I’d be getting one in a heartbeat

#547 5 years ago

Nice to see all the photos.
Really excited for this one.
We have a matching LE coming but my distributor is off on a cruise right now so not expecting a payment request at the moment. lol.

#548 5 years ago

I've sent in full payment to PP for my non matching LE. Sara told me I may get in on the 1st shipment of non matching units maybe just before X-mas. Crossing fingers. My deal is I only have room for 1 pin in my house. I recently sold my WOZ (which was a blast), but when the pin I've always wanted was rumored to be in the works at CGC more than 2 years ago I've been following and hoping. And when it was made official, I made up my mind. My family basically likes to bash the ball around and they like a cool theme so I think this will be a great fit. Yeah, I know there aren't wizard modes and "deep" rules but for our purposes, this should be an absolute blast. And then when we are done, I will sell it and get another pin for the 1 spot I have.

In the meantime - I have an interesting situation. I have exactly 83" of clearance. If it turns out to be 84" I'm going to have to have a new custom set of legs made. As it is when I had the WOZ in that spot I had to use special custom short legs on the rear set as the alcove I have for pins has a 4" or so rise for where the back half of the pin goes. The font legs go on the regular floor. So we shall see how it goes!

In terms of the topper - I'm betting it's only a matter of time before someone mod's that batboy to move. That frank arm could move, and frank and drac could rotate slightly while bride bobs forward and backward. Just a thought.

#549 5 years ago

I wonder how many of the LE's are a matching number. 150? 250?
If they can actually produce 60-70 games a week, all the LE's should be done pretty quickly.

#550 5 years ago

Nice attention to detail on this game. They even included a factory installed scoop protector. Very nice. Good luck with your game! It looks great.
