Quoted from CUJO:

Any ideas what tweak is needed?

See if the auto launch is hitting the ball square ? ( loosen bracket and turn ) Play with power settings in the CGC menu, stronger or weaker ?

Quoted from CUJO:

In fact, it even went thru a ball search just as the ball made it up there once. Happens about 1 out of 3 times.
Any ideas what tweak is needed?

Check the coil. It sounds like something has come loose and is out of alignment.

Thanks will inspect it tonight. When I looked down into the up trough it looked like another ball was moving into place before the first ball made it up.

Does anyone have a shooter lane protector they'd like to sell for monster bash? Ive tried to get one from Cliffy but haven't been able to get a hold of him. Are there any other protectors available for this game?

Does anyone know of a TV mod that does the slideshow or shows the old Universal films?

Quoted from Spanky7:

I’m working on one right now, although not to sell or anything. The trouble I’m having is I feel like the movies should be on a theater screen, not a tv. There’s lots of mods out there that do this - you could easily replace the videos on the TZ one, for example

Newbie question here. How do you install the tilt bob in this game? The rod is not threaded like a jersey jack game and I do not see any part in my coin box that would keep the tilt bob from sliding down the rod.

In the bag with the tilt bob should have been a scissors clip that you squeeze and slide onto the end of the rod and up or down as needed to set where the tilt bob rests.

Is there a way to make the display hi res instead if dots? Like you can do on a colordmd?

Thanks

#5814 4 years ago

My NIB MBR LE arrived today (sorry guys, I only had to wait 3 days), but the plasma disc never lights up, not even during Frank multiball. Does it only come on under certain circumstances or do I have a defective plasma disc? I checked the connections to the disc and they look
fine.

LOL soon, very soon.
I had to run home from the office to meet the delivery guy.
Took the photo after I hauled it in the house and went to back to work.

Funny, the delivery guy was kind of pissy.
I was going to offer him $100 tip to help me get it from the driveway, up 5 steps and though the front door.
He just wanted to bounce, so I didn't even bring it up and handed him a $20 said thanks and he took off.
My wife helped me get it up the stairs, so I handed her the remaining $80.

Are there any other lights in the GI out or just the disc? I had thought the disc wont light if the interlock switch isn't fully depressed. If you open the coin door and manually depress the switch in does it work?

As far as I can tell, the disc is the only lighted thing not working. I have not tried manually depressing the interlock switch, but the disc never lights up during gameplay, even in Frank multiball.

If you access the CGC LE features Menu, you can manually turn on each feature light of the LE/SE games as well as adjust individual coil strengths and other game play settings.

I opened a ticket for that tiny little bob-holder with Chicago Gaming. it seems a little silly to open a ticket for such a cheap part, but I couldn't find anything else to use.

I used a spare rubber ring for a post, seems to be holding for now. Just slid it up the post below the tilt bob.

Same here. I used a little electrical tape below it to help hold it in place

I found that menu but none of the items in that menu will respond. I’m assuming that when you select an item the corresponding item will light up. But nothing happens while I’m in that menu - nothing lights up.

#5829 4 years ago

I replaced the factory balls on my new LE with chrome ninjas. Yes, they are a tad shinier but don’t make a lick of difference in play. Perhaps they will simply last longer.

Did you ? Scroll up or down with the + or - buttons, then the one you stop on hit the Enter button ? That should allow you to change stuff.

Well, I was going to wait until after I got back from CAX to unbox it, but when I got home from work the kids bombarded me and asked if we could open her up.
I waited till after dinner and they had their pajamas on etc. because I knew that ass soon as we were done it was time for them to go to bed.

Started with the topper.
My 8 year old son really wanted to open it open so I gave him a screwdriver and let him go to town.

#5832 4 years ago

Once he got all the screws out and the lid was off I took over.
More so just incase he slipped with the screwdriver and nailed the topper.
The kids were pretty impressed with it once it was out of the box.

#5833 4 years ago

Now that the toppers out it's time to open up the machine itself and see what we got.
I know some people are big on saving boxes, I'm bigger on recycling them and could care less about saving them.
For me it serves as a nice piece of cardboard to set the machine up so I don't mess up the floor.
We opened this up in the front foyer just to set it up because of space.
When I get back from CAX I'll put it on the pinball trolley and wheel it into the other room with all its friends.

Mine didn't come with a tilt bob or clip to secure it. Spoke to CGC and one is on the way... (apparently).

The kids are doing all the work removing the leg bolts so we can put the legs on her.
Today they learned to just use the ratchet to loosen the bolt and after that the bolt should come out smoothly by hand.
While putting the legs on they learned this in reverse.
They also learned that if the leg bolts are not going in smoothly to back them out and try again so they didn't cross thread the bolt.
My daughter who is 10 got in on the action at this point.

I know people have different ways they like to set up their pins.
If the pin is standing upright we always put on the front legs first.
After that slowly tilt her forward and rest the machine on its front legs.
Then lift up the back and with slide the pinball trolly underneath the cab or in this case I used a stool to support the back.

Before we laid the game forward my son wanted to unwrap the head box and cut the support strap on it so he could see the play field.
This was actually a good moment because I got to explain to him that if we did that we might damage the head box and we didn't want to do that until we had all four legs on it and it was set up.

He also helped put the back legs on.
Our mantra at that moment was "tight is good, but too tight is broken".
I explained to him that the bolts should go in nice and easy and if they don't, lets back them out and start over so we don't strip them.
He did a pretty good job, but I had to tighten them a little bit at the end for him.

IMG_3455 (resized).jpgIMG_3455 (resized).jpgIMG_3453 (resized).jpgIMG_3453 (resized).jpgIMG_3452 (resized).jpgIMG_3452 (resized).jpgIMG_3451 (resized).jpgIMG_3451 (resized).jpg
#5837 4 years ago

After the back legs were on we lifted her up and slid the stool out.
Now it's time to put the head box up.

Opened up the head box and put the bolts in.
My son asked why I was doing that and I said " because when the monsters start a rockin we don't wan the head box to come a knockin".

After the bolts were in we put the topper on and hooked it up.

#5838 4 years ago

After that, put a light coat of wax on the play field, put the balls in it and hooked up the power cord and turned her on.
We let the kids play the first games.

Pretty simple set up, even with the kids doing most of the work I think it took around 45 minutes.

Beautiful machine and we are really happy with it.
So far the kids friggin love it.
They think its like Hotel Transylvania as a pinball machine. LOL

When I get back from CAX Monster Bash will be going in the main pin room in the house in-between Dr. Who and Creature where Judge Dredd is.
JD will going in the arcade/pin room and taking the spot where an arcade game now sits.
Need to still figure out which arcade game has been demoted to the garage.

That is so freakin awesome seeing your little man help you unbox your MB. My young boy has played my MBRLE a few times but he's yet to fully appreciate all the goodness. Enjoy mate, that's super awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super envious of your setup, looks f'n amazing!!!

LTG : )

LTG - thank you so much for the replies. Yep, when I stop at one of the items and hit enter, the "off" indicator to the right of that item lights up. If I keep hitting the enter button it simply alternates between the off message and nothing. This happens to each item in the LE menu (and the topper menu). I figured that the first press of the enter button would tell that particular item to turn on, at least briefly, but nothing happens when I do this - it simply gives me the option of turning that item off completely. It's certainly possible that I'm missing something super obvious, but methinks there might be a software bug or something. However, the game plays perfectly, with the exception of the disk never lighting up. Submitted a ticket to CGC last night.

Still having trouble with the ball making it up into the shooter lane. Not all the time but when it can't, it'll fire it 7-8 times before it gets it up there, hitting the top of the up trough then dropping back down.

I checked the trough and the solenoid. It's all square/tight down at the contact point. I felt inside the opening where the ball comes out to the shooter lane and there is some sort of rubber stuck on at the top exit, maybe to absorb the shock of the ball on it's exit to the shooter lane.
Maybe it's not in the right place or the up kicker is too strong?

It's not like it happens all the time but when it does, it's unforgiving. Usually happens 1 or 2 times during a two player 3 ball game with no real pattern of when it's gonna happen.

Have you played with the strength in the CGC menu ? Page 1-10 in your manual or -

If that doesn't help, then this - http://www.pinplay.com/5/adjusting_the_ball_trough_on_woz.html for a WOZ, same principle.

So good to be in the club too with a #848 LE. This game is a solid remake and luckily I’ve had no missing parts or play field problems.

In the last three days of owning the game I’ve:
1) adjusted the levels (via PinGuy app on iPhone) to 7.2 degrees.
2) turned down the flipper power to -6.
3) cranked the R popper to max.
4) Stuck a Frank table mod on.
all thanks to this thread!

Initially I was getting a few clips from Drac’s feet and a few sdtm from the scoop but after the adjustments above this game is 100% faultless and the scores are starting to climb.

My first NIB game and now the bug has definitely bitten me! Even my father, who had a stroke last year, thinks it’s great - and we all think it’s good for the reflexes so winning there too. Kids are off their devices more often too - winning. Even better I’m the GC which means I’m winning !!

Now to get MoR....!

I went into the CGC menu and turned down the trough popper strength to MIN from DEFAULT. I'll see what happens from here and report.

Also curious if other MB owners have that piece of rubber on the top side exit of the up trough to deaden the ball exit...
Thanks LLoyd
