My plan is to get an 13000-LE...what are others thinking?
13000-CE ("Monster Bash")
13000-LE ("Monster Bash")
13000-SE ("Monster Bash")

Tech support. Calls usually pick up with a new release. Always some first time NIB owners and they'll have some questions. Nothing major. Usually where is the back box key or where's the CGC menu.
I'll be ready.

The game has already solidified itself as a top notch game. With added code it could only be better.

I’m curious what people want out of “added code”. Monster Bash’s code/rules are a perfect example of rules, lights, sound choreography & design perfectly matching. Some may say “too easy”, but that’s by design & it’s still incredibly fun. What would new code/rules on MB entail? Just a few tweaks, or an entire rewrite like BOP 2.0 with a whole new gameplay concept, animation, music & voices?

In your pocket.

Disclaimer : Yes, I've gotten calls like that too.

Maybe an extra mode or so and some different lighting... Dont know.
But I think if they go that route the should have a disable in the menu for the folks that want to keep the original ruleset.

Agreed! Easier games means you can set them up even steeper, harder, and more brutal and not be in for a marathon game and still have fun trying to complete it. I dare anyone to try and get to RTU on my AFMr, or get the billion point hurry up, or even destroy more than a few saucers

Yes for me (who is just an average player) increasing the opening on the outlanes and changing the game rules to extra hard usually adds enough challenge for me.

These 2 posts were made nearly 2 weeks ago and there was no reveal at California Extreme 2018, I'm hoping we don't have to wait until the show in Dixon in October!

You won't.

I’ve indicted to the distributor I bought AFMR LE from that I’d like a MBR LE. I haven’t ordered because nobody has (yet).
Quoted from westofrome:According to a certain podcaster it's coming today.
You mean yesterday?

I hope you meant "indicated" since "indicted" means to charge with a serious crime.
Or does your distributor overcharge so much that it seems like it must be a crime?

No he means indicted! LOL

Quoted from andrewket:So where is the reveal / details? This is insane.
All of the trucks are at JJP, Stern, and Spooky at the moment. Lol
There's always a waiting list to get on the pass the time...

Quoted from indypinhead:How are people getting on the LE list when the machines aren't officially for sale yet?
My GUESS is that they are getting the request into their preferred distributor and getting on a 'list'. Based on their number in line, and how many LE's each distributor is allocated (or order) they HOPE to get an LE?
Quoted from Goronic:My GUESS is that they are getting the request into their preferred distributor and getting on a 'list'. Based on their number in line at how much each distributor is allocated (or ordered) they HOPE to get an LE?
Correct. My distributor can’t take deposits yet but I am told “I am on the list”...

What he said
I don’t remember where I heard / read the rumor, but supposedly owners of MMRLE and AFMRLE are going to get first dibs on MBRLE.

Will be same as last time I think which is great I’m in for matching number LE!
Quoted from Only_Pinball:Or BOTH. This is way past crazy.
This is worse than watching the paint dry on my TNA?

Without going to the effort of an opinion poll, I was wondering if anyone on this thread had thoughts or comments on the following;
It goes without saying that MB is a really desirable title and there are far fewer floating about than say CFTB.
Living down under you'd maybe see one or two become available in a calendar year and still at a high end prices of AU$13,500 + (close to US$10K)
All of a sudden out of the woodwork there's been a few more surfacing, very nicely tricked of course with colour DMD and few more monsters stuck to the deck. All in good taste and keeping with the theme of course.
Now with the remake approaching I've noticed there's a few more original MBs coming out of the woodworks and my guess is these guys are looking to do swappsies "out with the old and in with the new" without much of a $ difference. Or going for a fast cash grab for those not in the know and realise they can buy a BNIB standard remake for much less than what these guys are asking right now.
With all the hype floating around this title, will the value drop from the originals making them more affordable for someone just wanting a good ol' bash?
Is there any merit in vintage, or does it just boil down to more maintenance and servicing to keep that old monster running?
If you had a choice between and original for the sake of having an original which cost a bit less or spending the amount same coin or a bit more for an NIB standard, what would you go for?
Quoted from Pinball_Syd:If you had a choice between and original for the sake of having an original which cost a bit less or spending the amount same coin or a bit more for an NIB standard, what would you go for?
Hard to say without seeing MBr. But for me, based on 'r' track history (and the fact the seem thrilled to show us what they have done as soon as they can), I will buy MBr over the original.
Truth is, I decided I would get one pinball machine for home. My list (in order was). #1 MB, #2 TRON LE, #3 The Hobbit. I guess those are odd choices, but hey they are my favs. The issue? My budget was 10K and two of those (in excellent condition) were more than 10K. Heck three years ago TRON LE was around 11 to 13K and MB was pretty close to that. So I got the one that was in my budget. A 'cheap' NIB hobbit for 8K LOL
Quoted from Pinball_Syd:If you had a choice between and original for the sake of having an original which cost a bit less or spending the amount same coin or a bit more for an NIB standard, what would you go for?
There is a lot less risk when you purchase an MBr instead of an MB, simply due to it being new vs. what someone's description of their "almost new" game is.
If someone has a restored MB, it must have had some play on it, or they wouldn't have restored it or had it restored, so it would play like new. So there is that issue of differed maintenance...maintenance that will need to be done (eventually).
With a used machine (unless you know the machine or can go thoroughly inspect it) you really don't have much of an idea of how much "differed time" there has been.
Also, even if the machine looks great, what was the condition before it was rebuilt or restored and to what level was the restoration.
For me, I have no desire to have an original, just because it's original. I would rather have a game that is in great shape and will be for the foreseeable future.
