I've started making side decals for my pinball machines and some of you might have seen my TSPP decals. I've been restoring a monster bash over some months and at the same time designing decals for when it is complete. The design took many hours with a lot of detail implemented and even longer to colour match with the existing plastics. Artwork was produced from scratch at 300dpi and printed out and fully laminated for scratch resistance just like the TSPP decals. Many thanks for all who helped with this.

I still haven't restored the cabinet yet (it is due to go to a professional restorer in the next few weeks for new decals etc so you'll have to excuse the rough side rails) but I couldn't resist trying out a test print of the new decals with my custom painted figures. I've just got a couple of tweaks to make to colours and a little more detail to add to the right side but I think these show a good idea of what they will look like when everything is finished.

I've put some easter eggs in the artwork for a bit of fun (just like the Translite, you've found those already right?)
See if you can spot them all.

If you are interested please pm with your email and location and I'll see if there is enough to warrant a run.

Let's boogie!

Great job. I like the fact that the art is rendered in the same style as the rest of the game. Ties it all in nicely.

#4 5 years ago

once again you outdid yourself. These are fantastic!

#5 5 years ago

Those look amazing! Adds a great new depth to the game.

#6 5 years ago

looks nice. do you have price in mind?

#7 5 years ago

Excellent work!! Just another reason to buy a MB.

#8 5 years ago

Looks great sillyolfelf. I am very pleased with the TSPP decals and wish I had a MB to buy these as well.

#9 5 years ago

Outstanding. I'll take a set even though I don't own a MB (yet).

Now hurry up and do family Guy

If there is enough interest I can do a run. Anybody who is interested is welcome to PM me with their email and I'll get an email list together to see if there is enough demand to warrant it.

#11 5 years ago

Wow, those look great! I might order a set just in case I ever take the side mirrors off my MB. PM sent.

#12 5 years ago

Wow! They look terrific. PM sent.

#13 5 years ago

Brilliant! Almost makes me want to take down the black mirror blades.

Could you please consider doing drive-in themed side art for CFTBL?

#14 5 years ago

Agree. Those look fantastic. Best side board decals I've seen and surely nicer than mirror blades which I never saw the point of but to each their own.

#15 5 years ago

These are brilliant. Second time you've nailed it. Composition and color and concept are all dead on, but the way you're aping the style makes it practically factory.

#16 5 years ago

Wow, that looks awesome! I'd be down for a set. PM sent.

#17 5 years ago

Nice work, looking forward to perhaps future designs for other machines.

I was thinking of getting the ones for BSD from overseas, but man are they expensive...so I'm not.

Very nice!

#27 5 years ago

nicely done...did you make decals for any other machines?

#28 5 years ago

The side decals look great. I would buy a set for Monster Bash

#29 5 years ago

I would love,a set but I've got mirror blades on mine already

#30 5 years ago

I would prefer these over mirror blades... PM sent

#31 5 years ago

I'm interested for a set, PM me if you do a run please.

looks fantastic. Someone needs to figure out how to print stuff like this on clear plastic and have it reverse printed so people don't scratch them up from lifting the playfield. If I wanted a MB, I would want to install these.

#33 5 years ago

Very cool. Colors are great and blends well. I like. Pm send.

#34 5 years ago

Really well done, SOE. Really. The artwork is blended so well from character background to character background, it takes a minute or so to find where the breaks actually begin! Kudos, sir.

You could always mylar over them using the black sheets cut to fit.

Great idea.

I don't think the mylar will save it. Because the playfield catches the edge sometimes and rips it down. Least with plastic, it couldn't peel it down.

what about transparent aluminum?

He did TSPP as well - these are just as fantastic. Better than mirror blades I think in these "cartoon - based" machines.

Star Trek reference?

Lose the mirror blades, these are wayyyyy better. Use the mirror blades on something else maybe.
