Joined the Club yesterday! Excited!
KJS - seems we're sharing two machines now Glad to see you here

For my information, has anyone made a pinsound re-orchestration yet, using the hi-definition sounds and music, which can be extracted from the game code for MB Remake?
I extracted the sounds, just to have them when I need them, but I'm sure someone else has already thought of it, or maybe even done it

#624 4 years ago
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

What makes you think the remake somehow has higher fidelity audio than the original?

In a 1998 machine the sounds are stored in a small size rom with high compression, low sampling rates etc, etc. In the new machines storage space and sound processing capabilities are multifold of back in 1998 and everything would have been remastered to higher quality for that reason. One way or another, the sound assetts and music I extracted from the CGC code are crystal clear and NO comparison to the original sounds as it is heard on my original MB. That is also in line with my experience playing both machines one direct after the other, the Remake being first. The remake LOOKS and SOUNDS much better, but the original PLAYS better to my personal perception.

So an original equipped with PinSound (I have it on my Getaway) and CGC assetts, as well as decent LED enhancement seems like the obvious solution for me.

What makes you think the CGC Remake wouldn't have higher qulity audio assetts?

Can someone please tell me how many type #44/47 and how many type #555 LEDs are part of the playfield G.I. on this machine?

Cointaker offers a set (https://cointaker.com/products/monster-bash-premium-led-kit), but I'm in Germany and need to buy the bulbs elsewhere and individually, as nobody offers a set fot the G.I.

If anyone has a parts list for the playfield G.I. only (not controlled inserts or backbox) I would highly appreciate some help here

#638 4 years ago

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for my auto Eddy boards? One of mine seems to be broken...

Pinbits and the usual suspects are out of stock.

#640 4 years ago
Quoted from Manny65:

Tangles has them in stock - I have them in my MB and works a treat

Thanks - I just ordered three of them

What are the commonly used options to protect the Drac Lane from damage due to the ball rolling over it?
Is there something like the cliffys for this?

#650 4 years ago

I've seen people do this. Are there pre-cut pieces for the drac lane available somewhere or are people cutting their own?

Mine is unreachable right now, but I can also reccommend taking a look into the manual of the remake from CGC - much similarities and partially more detailed descriptions.

#681 3 years ago
Quoted from KJS:

So it looks like they are not all even?

This is what it looks like on mine.

I'll install that and see how she holds up with my intermittent rebooting.

That is more likely a stability issue on the 5V.

Does anyone know where I can get my Figures airbrushed / painted?

I am in Europe, but still contacted modfahther. The one guy in Europe I know, Juve, is a bit too expensive for me, so I'm looking for an alternative.

Quoted from allsportdvd:

I’ve removed all monsters from my machine to be painted except the bride. How does it come apart? The manual doesn’t seem to help

Pull it off with the same love you would use on your wife's... :b
After that it is easy.

Hi, can shaker be added to 1998 Williams MB? thanks

pinsound.org have a shaker kit, but it requires pinsound card and the DMD lux card. I'm doing a no compromise high ed restoration and ordered the full set yesterday.

Quoted from GroggyFrogFace:

what a cleaning job that must have required!

The machine was dirty and the playfield (wood) messed up, but otherwise in very good overall condition. I'm really high ending this one atm. Got a repro playfield from miserable and disgusting mirco playfields, and a new repro cabinet, decals, painted figures and lots of chrome and powder. LEDOCD, pinsound incl shaker and a speaker panel from the remake with an enlarged pin2dmd. The backbox has a backglass (not translite) from a designer in poland and overall its really extreme and uncompromising. I'll showcase it once it'S done - a few weeks to go. Many cudos to fellow pinsiders who supported creation of specialities.

Anyway - if you need more photos, theres nothing I didn'T shoot

Quoted from Mikespinball:

Looks amazing! Who's doing the art work?

Thank you! The art was a done by a 15-year-old competitor in the Warhammer community. Its an incredible job on all figures. The rest of the machine is equally uncompromising, I cant wait to put in the playfield, install all the pinsound stuff and LED OCD and then showcase it.

It's more or less a tad better than the Getaway I did some time ago, as my very first project...

Backbox with pinsound. Shaker still going in later today... I didn't like the suggestion by PinSound how to mount, so I used a powder coated metal plate, which I had received as a sample for the powder coat on legs and siderails. This is MUCH better than using sticky legs to mount the boards...
The PDB is from pinled.de, in case anyone is wondering about that.

Can someone please post an original MB with a knocker installed? I dont know what to wire it to.

#881 1 year ago

I used the "waybackmachine" to open the website with the description from 2004. As a reference, I am posting ascreenshot here and in the "knocker on MB-thread"

So here are some more impressions from my freshly powered up Monster BAsh (original, not remake)!

It lives in a new WPC case made by AVO-pinball, has a Mirco Playfield (screw you mirco, you suck, but even your miserable performance and attitude cannot diminish the overall result) with a playfield protector from playfield-protectors.com, shooter laner protector from pinball-universe.de, painted figures done by a 10th-grader who does painting competitions, licensed repro plastics from somewhere, plastics protectors from pinbits, art blades from the @sillyoldelf, bronze flipper bearings made by adpin.de, chrome flipper buttons from adpin.de, a real backglass (pending and not on photos from an anonymous wizard), power and clear coated metal parts, invisiglass from a hungarian wizard, LEDOCD, GIOCD, pinsound board with flpper fidelity speakers, pinsound shaker, solidstate repro-PDB from pinled.de, CPU board from pinled.de and the masterpiece a MBR speakerpanel with an extra large pin2dmd
Every single part was newly zink-, chrome- or powder coated.

I am still missing a black plate for around the display, and a specially cut smoke-glass currently in production as a display cover. If I'm lucky some polished rampflaps from KJS will still arrive at some point.

I consider it absolutely uncompromising and it really plays like a monster. It is combining the solid build quality and everlasting repairability of the original machine, with a few elements of modern engineering.

Quoted from amxfc3s:

I'm looking for feedback regarding adding a pinsound board...

I've done the complete pinsound thing in combination with flipper fidelity 8" set. Pinsound plus, pinsound DMD and pinsound shaker

The sound is definitely better and with the equalizers you can gain a lot of depth and clarity. Also pinsound allows to add the shaker.

Question about mrs_mezelmods "Frank's Table":

I ordered this thing the other day and tried installing it in my original MB on the original unmodified table. However, it doesn't fit. There is a pivot point, when placing it on the table assembly and the images show why. The mod does not account for the lower welded part on the metal assembly and therefore will not sit flush.

The green circle shows the grove accounting for the top weld. The red circles show the missing groves for the lower weld.

PXL_20220909_172156198 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172156198 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172202714 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172202714 (resized).jpg

Has anyone installed this mod and encountered the same thing? Do I have a fraudulent part? OR did nobody except for me actually notice this and everyone just brute force stuck it down regardless?

This video by another owner clearly shows that his mod is sitting flush:

#897 1 year ago
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

You will need to do some minor cutting on the table; the original table is different than the remake.

https://mezelmods.com/collections/monster-bash-remake-pinball-mods/products/monster-bash-pinball-franks-table
Here they say "The production model has a slight variation in wood planks to fit in MB original."

This gave me the confidence to buy this. mrs_mezelmods has already responded to my support request, and I am sure they will find a solution and adapt their design for the future.

Loks almost exactly like mine, whe i bought it. What did you have to pay for it?

#934 1 year ago
Quoted from Axaios:

I got a fair price regarding the market here and its abandonment.

What a response...

#940 1 year ago
Quoted from Williampinball:

No one will say what they paid for it lol

And why is that? I paid 4500 EUR for mine in 2020. Invested a lot more into it after. I now have what I wanted - a now perfect over-the-top original, which will always remain repairable. Why to be secretive about it, if someone asks out of genuine curiosity. The only reasons I could see is paranoia or unwillingness to expose themselves to unqualified opinions about it, like "You are a dumbass because you paid too much". Send a PM then. Or don't. Whatever. It's not like it was more than mere curiosity about price levels for a machine condition similar to mine two years ago.
For me this seems like not having the guts to be challenged regarding your willingness to pay. So that's an unqualified opinion I have now. So, regardless, what you say, opinions will always be there. And again - who really cares?

#943 1 year ago
Quoted from Axaios:

What is more to say, why should I give a specific amount, what purpose will this serve to the community here for a pinball I found in Greece?

If its low it might encourage others to not overpay, which helps to keep price levels accelerating slower.
The opposite can also happen. Never mind tho. Welcome to the club IF you need support or photos of anything in particular, feel free to ask on PM - I have everything documented in extreme detail

The only smart thing I've read so far, given the facts. Replacing stuff randomly before knowing what is wrong, just because someone maybe had or didn't have the same or similar issue at some point maybe, is not the way to go.
