Quoted from DK:

What??? I’ve never seen that…

Quoted from Bam_Man:

Yes it is. It's a secret skill shot, AfM does it as well. Gate should open on some Wolfman shots if I'm remembering correctly.

Say what in the who now? Owned for years. Did not know this. What is the objective of the skill shot after it goes through the gates???

Quoted from Bam_Man:

That's right - the Gate opens when you start Wolfman mode so you can do the full loop. It closes when you hit the final loop shot, as soon as the ball rolls over the switch

Nah just tried this on my machine and on the zen version as well. Holding the left flipper and launching ball does not open the gate for a secret skill shot

#854 2 years ago
Quoted from GroggyFrogFace:

what a cleaning job that must have required!

The machine was dirty and the playfield (wood) messed up, but otherwise in very good overall condition. I'm really high ending this one atm. Got a repro playfield from miserable and disgusting mirco playfields, and a new repro cabinet, decals, painted figures and lots of chrome and powder. LEDOCD, pinsound incl shaker and a speaker panel from the remake with an enlarged pin2dmd. The backbox has a backglass (not translite) from a designer in poland and overall its really extreme and uncompromising. I'll showcase it once it'S done - a few weeks to go. Many cudos to fellow pinsiders who supported creation of specialities.

Anyway - if you need more photos, theres nothing I didn'T shoot

Yeah mine is not doing it either, but I'm wondering if something is broken because it does do it on my AFM. And I'm getting a closed stuck gate error on my MB.

I look forward to seeing it when you're finished. I'd like to do a new playfield, but yeah, just a bit hesitant on that. Mine is in pretty good shape, less some damage around the scoop and Drac. Someone, too, seemed to go a bit overboad with the mylar. I guess I shouldn't complain since it's clean and not a disaster!

I'm looking to join the club. Serious buyer for a very nice MB. PM me if you're considering selling.

There also is special Lyman Sheets, call outs. But I think it is only for ball one. Says different phrases.

He also taunts you when you get passed a certain high score. I think billion, but don't remember. Did this one time, he gives you like "That was a good shot" "Oooo don't drain" and other sayings.

Think MB would really benefit in having a skill shot though - they did it for AFM and MM … and maybe some others as well

Thanks Lloyd! I ran that test and a couple switches weren't registering, yet they registered in switch test mode. I replaced the switches, got rid of the spade connectors and soldered the wires directly to the switches, ran the test and they were all registering now. I went through the wolfman mode, as Bam_Man stated, and all the errors went away.

Well today I did a overdue project on my MB that I have had for many years and just didn't do it due to height restrictions in my game room. Just recently moved into a new home and my game room has a very high ceiling. Bought this Monster Jackpots sign and installed it today. Turned out amazing!

Very nice, but personally, I would hang that on the wall. It's way too big as a topper.

I agree, but why not is what I thought. So I added it. It would not be too hard to remove it if I wanted to. It has its own power source, so no stress on boards. Don't think its not that bigger then others I have seen. I think its cool, so maybe some day I will remove it and put it on the wall next to it. I appreciate the suggestion.

That is incredibly awesome - is it from a slot machine? Where did you find it?

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Yes, its from a slot machine. Found it off Ebay a number of years ago.
I have "slot topper" as one of my informed Ebay email requests thats sent to me daily. You never know what pops up that would look cool as a pinball topper.
Have the one for the TZ too. Didn't get that one off Ebay, but from a Pinsider here. Was looking for this one for years. Really like the animations that this one does.
Recently did pickup Monopoly topper(s) I think 4 of them for a great deal even though I don't own that title. There brand new in boxes. Will make stands for them (keep 1) and sell the other 3.

Thank you! The art was a done by a 15-year-old competitor in the Warhammer community. Its an incredible job on all figures. The rest of the machine is equally uncompromising, I cant wait to put in the playfield, install all the pinsound stuff and LED OCD and then showcase it.

It's more or less a tad better than the Getaway I did some time ago, as my very first project...

Backbox with pinsound. Shaker still going in later today... I didn't like the suggestion by PinSound how to mount, so I used a powder coated metal plate, which I had received as a sample for the powder coat on legs and siderails. This is MUCH better than using sticky legs to mount the boards...
The PDB is from pinled.de, in case anyone is wondering about that.

Tests - Coils - Stop on knocker - hit start button - then the "+" or "-" this steps you through coil, drive transistor, fuse, wire colors, connector number and info for which pin the wires go to.

Mine had a 2-pin molex connector just hanging at the top of the backbox that I was able to connect it to. Then in the menu there's an "unused" coil which you set to On.

So here are some more impressions from my freshly powered up Monster BAsh (original, not remake)!

It lives in a new WPC case made by AVO-pinball, has a Mirco Playfield (screw you mirco, you suck, but even your miserable performance and attitude cannot diminish the overall result) with a playfield protector from playfield-protectors.com, shooter laner protector from pinball-universe.de, painted figures done by a 10th-grader who does painting competitions, licensed repro plastics from somewhere, plastics protectors from pinbits, art blades from the @sillyoldelf, bronze flipper bearings made by adpin.de, chrome flipper buttons from adpin.de, a real backglass (pending and not on photos from an anonymous wizard), power and clear coated metal parts, invisiglass from a hungarian wizard, LEDOCD, GIOCD, pinsound board with flpper fidelity speakers, pinsound shaker, solidstate repro-PDB from pinled.de, CPU board from pinled.de and the masterpiece a MBR speakerpanel with an extra large pin2dmd
Every single part was newly zink-, chrome- or powder coated.

I am still missing a black plate for around the display, and a specially cut smoke-glass currently in production as a display cover. If I'm lucky some polished rampflaps from KJS will still arrive at some point.

I consider it absolutely uncompromising and it really plays like a monster. It is combining the solid build quality and everlasting repairability of the original machine, with a few elements of modern engineering.

Hello! I bought my first EVO Pin2DMD for Williams Monster Bash but after installing it I noticed I only see 4 colours. I understand i need a .pal and .fsq files to be able to have full colorization. Can someone please help me?

seems like you should take this to a Pin2DMD thread; not the club.

You will need to go to the site (not Pinside) where Pin2DMD colorizations are done: https://vpuniverse.com/forums/

Create an account, Find the Monster Bash thread there, and PM the person who did the colorization (his name escapes me). You will need a Pin2DMD file for a physical machine. Most of the colorization files you find there are for Virtual Pinball (VP9/VPX) use, and will not work in a real machine. He will ask for a donation, so be prepared for that (it's small), and there are some simple instructions. The MB colorization is VERY well done, and these take hours and hours and HOURs of work. I tried to start one for Doctor Who, and gave up after 100 hours and only 1 or 2 moments actually colorized.

I'm looking for feedback regarding adding a pinsound board...Is it worth it? I am not very impressed with the sound from the original board, even when hooked up to a 10" sub. Thanks

#893 1 year ago
Quoted from amxfc3s:

I'm looking for feedback regarding adding a pinsound board...

I've done the complete pinsound thing in combination with flipper fidelity 8" set. Pinsound plus, pinsound DMD and pinsound shaker

The sound is definitely better and with the equalizers you can gain a lot of depth and clarity. Also pinsound allows to add the shaker.

#894 1 year ago
Quoted from amxfc3s:

Depends on your budget. The PinSound stuff gets REALLY expensive, very quickly. There's not a huge upside for this particular game in adding a Pinsound board , unless you want ALL the bells & whistles. Yes, it will allow you to (kind of) control the volume difference between the backbox and cabinet, and pump up the cabinet volume which does help quite a bit, but the audio itself will be unchanged You can get the same end result by adding a Flipper Fidelity set, or (for more $$) a PinWoofer.

That said, If you're interested in replacing some of the callouts with other stuff (clips from Frankenstein / Dracula films?), then Pinsound will help with that. If your A/V board dies, and you buy an additional run-of-the-mill DMD controller board, the Pinsound will let you ditch the A/V board. So there's definitely some benefit there.

Anyway, my point is you have a couple of options, and the PinSound board is a bit overkill if you really just want some more bass in the mix.

Question about mrs_mezelmods "Frank's Table":

I ordered this thing the other day and tried installing it in my original MB on the original unmodified table. However, it doesn't fit. There is a pivot point, when placing it on the table assembly and the images show why. The mod does not account for the lower welded part on the metal assembly and therefore will not sit flush.

The green circle shows the grove accounting for the top weld. The red circles show the missing groves for the lower weld.

PXL_20220909_172156198 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172156198 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172202714 (resized).jpgPXL_20220909_172202714 (resized).jpg

Has anyone installed this mod and encountered the same thing? Do I have a fraudulent part? OR did nobody except for me actually notice this and everyone just brute force stuck it down regardless?

This video by another owner clearly shows that his mod is sitting flush:

Also responded in the other thread you posted this in. You will need to do some minor cutting on the table; the original table is different than the remake. I seem to recall cutting some of the underside of the table mod, as you pointed out. It was not very hard using a Dremel cutting wheel on medium.

Also note the video you posted is for a remake, which this mod fits fine in. Not a lot of people have an original MB so I’m not shocked this hasn’t come up much before.

This table mod is probably the best mod out there for MB. I was always disappointed in the lack of
Mods for this game - but Mezelmods came through with this beauty.

Here they say "The production model has a slight variation in wood planks to fit in MB original."

This gave me the confidence to buy this. mrs_mezelmods has already responded to my support request, and I am sure they will find a solution and adapt their design for the future.

Hello guys,

Member of the Monster Bash owners for about six months however this is how long it took me to finally bring it home.
Major repairs and improvements took place those six months.
... and I can honestly say that is the best game I ever played. So far at least!

So, just arrived today and it's magnificent. Most probably the only unit in the country .
I have spent a lot on it trying to repair all of its issues and also trying to improve it.
Top quality Colour DMD.
Inner side decals.
New cabinet decal set of special printing to much the original.
New pop bamper covers.
New purple flippers.
New rubbers
New LEDs.
Electrostatically painted all metal parts, legs and side bars, electric blue with pearl colour.
Electrostatically painted coin door and head holders in semi gloss black colour.
Chromed leg screws.
Ghost mod added.
Bought a new working (used) drive board.
Replaced broken plastics
...and others
The only things left to do is to replace the back glass LEDs with super bright colour LEDs to give more life on it and also to place metal protectors frames on the target holes which are ordered all ready.
I am so happy
