Recently purchased and moved Monopoly. It played at the seller’s home. Played one game after the move, no problem. Second game, the display was garbled. Turned the machine off and then back on, display was dark.

I have reseated the ribbon cable from display board. Tested the fuse (it is has continuity). No change. Red LED on display board stay lit.

What should I be trying next?

One other note, this is my first Stern so not sure what this sound means....When I turn on the machine, I get a tone that sounds like a tug boats horn. To sure if I got that previous to the display going out or not.

Sounds like 5volts might be low. Reseat the big square power connector, which may have about 9 wires, at the top middle connector of the power driver board. If that does not work, then post a picture of the boards with the wiring connected with power on.

Reseated the plug. No luck. Checked the 5v fuse as well (F23) and the fuse is good.

He is a picture of the power board with game powered up. Game does play, just no display.

One other note, game makes a loud “toot”noise out of the speakers when powered on. I am new to the game so not sure if that is normal power up tone or if it is meant to alert me to an issue.

Would lik to the see the top MPU board as well with power on. Since the game is playing, can you test the voltages at the DMD power connector?

Yes the toot is a normal power on sound. Can you play the game?

Quoted from Jenniebear:

Can you play the game?

Yes, the game plays, call outs, ramps, pop bumpers. Everything else appears to be operational.

Won't help your display, but is that Capacitor at C25 leaking? Also, the F21 fuse looks like it's just about to burn out.

Reseated everything, cleaned pins, etc.

I finally got it lit, although appears a little less vibrant than it should be.

The new problem is that the animation freezes mid game. The game play, call outs work but the DMD, although lit, is frozen. Below are two pics from two different games. The freeze happened in the middle of ball two and remained frozen on these screens until I powered off and started over.

When I turn the game off then on, the DMD resets and starts a game unfrozen.

Where do I start?
