Wow, I played this game for the first time last Saturday and had to get one, Thanks to TonyCip i got mine today. Already ordered the mirror blades the Mr. Monopoly Hallmark ornament and inquired about that bad ass topper. I love this game. Grew up playing Monopoly as a kid and love the theme. Very underrated game with awesome shots!!! Glad I am in the club!!

What is the best pitch to play at. Manual has it at like 5.5 and the previous owner had front end lowered and pitch at near 7. What is your guys pitch?

check your coil on the upper flipper. There is 2 wires, one that goes to each coil lug. could be that you have a bad solder connection or that the small wire going to the one lug broke. The coil actually has 2 coils within it the full power (which is working b/c its flipping) and the hold (which isnt working) so when its changing from full power to hold its dying. So it could be a broken wire on the coil leading to the lug, a bad diode on the board or a bad TIP on the board. I would bet its on your coil. If you could take and post photos of that upper flipper coil from underneath the playfield so we can visually inspect the coil

That would be the best thing to do. You can try to touch it up then mylar it but unless your skilled in the arts you may do more harm than good. Just slap some mylar on and you'll be good to go.

Its on the left side here is the wear on my machine as an example

is it dented in a bit like mine? There is 2 ways to go about this here 1) sand, putty (fixing dent), repaint and mylar (I would call that the full restore) or 2) Clean it up best as possible using said methods like Novus ect slap mylar over to prevent further damage and call it a day. Your going to battle with the law of diminishing returns here. To you it may be a big deal to other its just a nick and part of the game. I would vote for option 2 its Monopoly not Monster Bash.

I don't think so. Seems like they had some more idea's but didn't follow through. Would be cool to re-write rules and use the Monopoly and LCD board better.

SO all the wires to the speakers are good and it was working one second and stopped working the next? I would try reseating everything first. My approach to everything is the ASAP method. Always Start At Power. Here is a link to info on the board http://www.pinballsupernova.com/images/Sega_Stern%20White%20Star%20Repair%20-%20PinWiki.pdf

Also check all your fuses and look for anything obvious like a blown Cap

Do you still have the batteries on the board? Can you see any acid damage below them? I have had games that I have picked up with minor acid damage that has caused sound issues in the past. I am not as familiar with Whitestar and the placement of the parts as I am with System 11 and WPC or Data East/Sega games. Seems very odd.

I had same problem it was coil stop as well. I would replace the upper flippers coil stop

For $1.60 or what ever that are you should have orders them regardless when you ordered the coils stops. Hell I always buy 10 thing more than I need to save on shipping. Let us know

Quoted from PhillyArcade:

Thanks wiggy! Worked out well for the price card!! Monopoly is complete!
I also picked up the pinblades from pingraffix at the Allentown show today. Really nice quality art work they sell! They even showed me the best ways to install them!

Looks like the measurements I sent him for the back blades were right on the money!! Jose was supposed to send me a tester....but I am glad to see they fit and look great

Quoted from 20eyes:

Anyone else ever have problems with the rotating flipper spinning too fast? Its fine for about 30 seconds into the first ball then starts spinning way too fast for the rest of the game.
I replaced the relay under the playfield and started checking connections. Not sure where to look. Maybe a flaky component on the driver board?

What is your ROM version. Newer roms fixed that. Sounds like you have an early Rom?

Quoted from 20eyes:

Software version 3.03

Yup that is the newest version. I know mine sometimes goes faster but its not detrimental to the game play. Not sure what the cause would be as it is timed by the programming, other than re-burn your ROM?
