Quoted from Mancave:

Well i'm officially out of the club, sold my machine to a happy owner last week and it's gone to a good home (his kids LOVE it!! )
Kinda sad to see it go cause i really have enjoyed playing it BUT i'm keen on another NIB so a couple of the older one's had to go.

Not sure if you meant me but i had a bunch of the two larger ramp protectors made and do still have 5 sets. These were made from the files that were online (can't recall where i found the file) I did discover that the 3rd smaller protector that goes behind the community chest sign was absolutely bloody useless for what it was supposed to do so i did create my own design. The new one works a treat and never had any balls stuck in that area since. I haven't got around to making the spare 5 smaller protectors as i just haven't had the time lately. I need to make some brackets, bend the plastic and then rivet them together. Will list them on Fleabay again once i get them sorted but you can always message me if you're interested. Attached pics show the original design for the 3rd smaller protector (Pic 1) and my design (Pic 2 & 3)[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

It was this one. There was a set of 2 that protected the car target as well. Plastic cover that goes over top of entrance to left ramp helps keep balls from flying off the ramp. Included from the factory on later-production games, but early games did not ship with this part.

Hmm ok, not seen them around for sale anywhere. The sets i have were created from a file that was available online but i can't recall the site (link is possibly back among this thread's pages somewhere) The top protector covers the entrance to the right ramp and also the entrance to the left and the other larger one covers the back part of the entrance for the shot up the left ramp from the upper right flipper. The one in my first picture was the 3rd one included in that set which is the one i redesigned (2nd and 3rd pics) cause it didn't do what it was supposed to, still allowed balls to jam in behind the community chest sign. Attached is a pic of the one's i have, the smaller one still needs to be attached to the bracket yet, discovered that i actually had shaped and pre drilled the brackets so i just need to bend them and the plastics and rivet them together to complete the smaller protector. The plastics are clear btw, just got the protective covering still on both sides.

Oh yeah looks like a modified version but that should work! Let me know what you want for a set of those.

I've posted the EPS vector files on my site for download: http://scoresaves.com/pinball/MonopolyProtectors.7z
Good for laser cutting, or just printing out as a template to trace (just make sure your software isn't scaling to fit to your paper source).

This link to my vector files for the protectors is still good. If someone wants the AutoCAD files, I can dig those up too.

I'd be in on one.
Have been the first owner, ordered from factory in 2006 and unboxed it myself. so it's odd this wasn't added, if as mentioned here they were added to later runs. I think 2006 is as late as this game could have been made if it was originally a 2001 game.

Well here is my HUO Monopoly she is finally ready to show off. Was all original untouched for the most part. Here is what I have done so far.. I just converted it from "bubs" to frosted LEDs, NVram, Lollypops, black cabinet leg protectors with new longer leg bolts, Pinball Life lighted flipper buttons, 3 SMD white strip under the apron for the ball drain, and I'm just waiting on some leds for the game board. I'm going to match the colors on the game board (kids suggestion) hopefully it won't look like clown puke but we'll see. I was going to tear it down and shop it out but over all it's really clean as it. I just gently waxed where I could reach. I need to replace the white posts rubbers. The original white ones are beat but I think that's about it for now. They are rock solid so I guess that's how I know it was never touched yet. I added some titan red rubbers on the flippers. I think I'll do the others as well. The response on those are nice. Amazing to find them like this. I'm glad it's back in my line up I've missed it!

Future mods, ColorDMD, Cabinet Side blade art with the art for the back piece on the PF, and I have a LED tube coming to replace the florescent lamp in the backbox. After that I think I covered it all. Well maybe a nice dice shooter rod if one pops up.

Just for reference, here is what Monopoly looked like before LED's with "bubs" sitting next to my HUO Soprano's that is already all blinged out...

Nice job! I've had an essentially HUO game in my lineup (was a sample game which saw almost no use at all) since 2001--it's never left. Very underrated Lawlor game.

Thanks! Yes it is an underrated Lawlor pin for sure. The flow always pulled me back for more with Monopoly

About to join this club pretty soon. I have a trade setup for my JP Stern Pro for a monopoly and some cash. Very excited for this. Something about this game in my region it's extremely rare. I haven't seen one come up in many years.

You will love it ! I have a nice HUO example that I picked up a few months ago and I have found myself playing it over many of my newer titles. Monopoly has a great flow to it and if setup correctly plays great. Adding leds really brightens up the playfield in my opinion.

Another must.. LED tube for the backbox. Really makes the art work pop. Before and after... My Soprano's has one in it as well.

Here is an odd one! Anyone run into this before? I was playing a game, a ball was stuck. So I opened the coin door and grabbed the ball and this creepy music started playing! I tossed the ball back on the pf just to see if it would stop. This kept going literally till I started a new game as that was my ball 3. I put the glass back on and closed the door still didn't stop till I started a new game. Creepy!

#916 1 year ago

Thank you Stern for making the harness long enough to take the entire PF out and lay it in front of the game

I'm so on the fence with that one for some reason. I kinda like the look of the plain black wood there. I also think that would look really good if they continued the backglass art work down onto that piece. Make it look like one piece kinda thing. I'm waiting on the lighted speaker mod to come in. I'll have to see how it looks after I get that mounted.

So need some help. My electric company was dead then after I got everything put back together in the game I got a little action on it. Now I’m back to it being completely dead. Any ideas of what I can check or is there anyone that anyone knows of that I can send it to for repair. I can’t seem to find a replacement anywhere.

Scored a few goodies from GreedBay.. Anyone else ever add this City Lights arch to their game? I'll have to find a good spot for it. I might take my dremel and add a LED strip inside rather than the small AC powered LED's that are in there. Monopoly guy will most likely go on top of the bank. Dice for the studs on the shooter lane.

I was kinda surprised no one had one in this thread! It's like the perfect size to put on the ramp or something. I'll poke around this weekend see where it looks best. I felt bad, I got mine for $7 bucks it was new in the box. I opened it up and tossed out the box someone was keeping it in for 20 years!

I really like the look of the dice on the out lanes. I added colored plastic protectors on the slings and the out lanes. They look really good, as well as make the nuts more flush with the screws that come out the top of the out lanes.

yes! I did that with my last Monopoly added the convolux. Those long studs look like crap that's why I had to do something there. I can say this. The pics don't do the dice justice. They look even better in person with the leds bouncing off of them and from the sides.

Looking for a left ramp anyone have one available?

#936 1 year ago

dfensch beautiful game! I would suggest adding an airball protector modification above the left ramp. Eventually the ball will start launching up the ramp and go airborne. When it does this it will inevitably break the ramp where the switch mounts to it.

This ramp is getting very difficult to find. Better to protect your nice ramp now than search for one later.

I think it may have a place on the coin door, maybe around the coin eject hole? Maybe you could dremel the back of the floor so it's flush , and have a 3d lit coin door mod.
Still waiting on mine to arrive.

Shout out to ManCave! I purchased his "behind the chest" air ball protector along with the ramp protectors. Very nice work fit like a glove and now my ramps won't get destroyed or air balls stuck up there. His plexi pieces are a little different design but I like how they connect the 2 ramps together really tightens it all up. Great deal as well since our dollar is strong over there was very reasonable with shipping. If you don't have the ramp protectors on your Monopoly, I highly recommended them to not only help with air balls, but they protect the ramps. These ramps are impossible to find and most are broken at the switch. These will stop that from happening/getting worse. Thanks again! Buy with confidence from him. Here are few pics of them installed...

Are you selling sets of these protectors?

Quoted from Davefinn:

Finishing up my lastest Monopoly project, reproduced Electric Company mini DMD display board. Works great on the becnh, now test fitting the plastic and the bracket before installing it back into the game...

Any chance you would make another one? Mine hasn’t worked since I got the game.

Think i have enough to do 3 maybe 4 sets and that's it. The 2 larger plastics are pre cut and ready but i haven't made up any of the smaller protector i designed, just had too many projects to deal with lately (along with work, etc) The smaller protectors need to be bent and also the metal bracket needs bending and then both riveted together. I'll try and get the last 3-4 smaller protectors finished off soon and will then post in here. I've got a bad habit of starting too many projects and swamping myself

Very interested in the community chest. Protector, air balls are a real issue there. I have a friend, same problem. Thank you.
