My monkey is normally up and goes up and down pretty fast. No, I am not making a sexual reference. It stays in the farthest upper left position and only moves down and to the right when it picks up the ball or upon powering up. When the game is powered off you should be able to spin the screw in either direction freely to slowly move the monkey up or down. To remove the upper left playfield I had to manually spin the screw to move the monkey down so the mech cleared.

Looking at your original French, I realize I misinterpreted the English translation which was less clear. The monkey should move fast up and down during gameplay. With the game turned off, spin the screw manually with your fingers left or right. It should move smoothly but slowly. Many turns of the screw by your fingers will move the monkey slowly. If the monkey is moving very slowly when the game is powered on but the screw turns smoothly by hand when not powered on I would go into test mode and test the motor and see if the problem is with the motor itself.

From top to bottom, it is fast.
But the bottom up, it is very slow

I am having trouble with this pinside site. Will try to answer one last time.
In test mode with no pinball magnetically attached, the monkey mechanism should move smoothly close to the same speed top to bottom or bottom to top. With game power turned off and you spinning screw with your fingers either clockwise or counterclockwise monkey mechanism should move free and smoothly up or down at same speed. My guess is there is problem with the motor if the mechanism is smooth without power turning the screw by hand.

Sorry, I had trouble making myself understood and understand.
I'm from France and I do not speak English.
Playing the monkey normally goes down.
But it goes up very slowly.

Désolé, j'ai dû mal à me faire comprendre et à comprendre.

Have you contacted Jersey Jack about this issue? I've heard great things about the tech support and am sure they can answer your question pretty quickly.

#9 10 years ago

Before contacting support, I would like to know if the other woz the monkey up and down in the same way

#10 10 years ago

Mon singe ne bouge pas comme ça. Je pense que votre singe est cassé.

#11 10 years ago

Whoa! Easy for YOU to say!

#12 10 years ago

My monkey does not move.
I'm talking about when it captures dorothée.
After catching the ball, monkey goes very slowly.

#13 10 years ago

My monkey moves evenly. It doesn't pick up the ball every time but it moves at the same speed.

#14 10 years ago

#15 10 years ago

merci pour les réponses
thank you

#16 10 years ago

For the monkey is getting worse.
Now he can no longer climb up.
I opened a ticket, but not answer.

#17 10 years ago

Does it move the same speed up and down in test?

#18 10 years ago

Hello alex,
in test, I have the same problem.
The monkey goes down well but very very slowly (and sometimes it is completely down)

Bonjour alex,

Ohhhh, I get it!

The problem was Sebastian's monkey mech was bogging down and starting to bind. Lubricating the mechanism fixed it right up. It was a problem with some early versions of the mech, but haven't seen it much since. Sebastian has one of the earliest games off the line.

Well, I think I speak for all pinheads when I say that we've all had to lubricate our monkey at some point in our lives.

With the money it costs to be a WoZ Beta-Tester, Jack should lubricate the monkey for you personally!

couldn't resist

Good to see someone around here still has a sense of humor!

I purposely avoided writing " He had to lube his monkey" for a reason. Seems impossible to get around the snickering when it comes to having to grease your monkey's rod. At least we're all on the same page here.

Sounds like a personal problem.
