Hey guys- pinball lover since the 70's, started collecting earlier this year. Picked up a Night Rider and someone hacked the connector on the transformer. They soldered one wire to the pin on the transformer. My question is, how do I know what size this connector is? I see a few choices and want to order the correct one. Also- does anyone send these pre wired-or will I need to transfer good pins and re-pin hacked wire into new connector (I work for Ford and we sell pre-wired connectors with butt connectors-so just wondering). TIA

https://www.greatplainselectronics.com/ Ed has what you need. Pins for board and connector and pins for the female part. And tools.

You'll need to make up the connector, no pre wired.

And you need to replace both. The burn will happen again if you don't.

Youtube has lots of videos to help you. Pins for the connector - buy lots of extras and practice. Easy to learn and do.

    Size in above post.

Plan to rewire a bunch of connections. Once you start you'll want to fix everything!

Thanks for the info guys! Hate to be a PITA, but which pins do I order? Part Number 45570-3050?

Im assuming the 8 slot molex I need is 45570-3050.

Surprisingly this is the only roached connector......lol

Email Ed at great plains electronics and ask him

    I use these.

The pins are different for 22-26 gauge wire (08-50-0185) and 18-20 gauge (08-52-0113). I assume that is a power connector so probably need the 18-20 gauge pins.

You need Keying plugs also like 15-04-0219 if you go with the 8 place housing CS156-08-LR. But ask him as I don't remember if the value line is what you want.

If you don't replace the male pins, you will have the same problem again so fix it once.

I buy these and cut to length 26-48-1245

I would be surprised if it is. Maybe the only OBVIOUS bad connector....
Being it is a Bally, I would buy & install all new fuse holders while you are at it.

For that connector and the wire sizes - use plug CS156-xx-LR, contacts 08-52-0113, plus one key 15-04-0219.
Replace the "xx" with number of pins such as 08 for 8 pin plug.
But when one connector goes bad on that board, odds are all three have been pulled and reinserted the same number of times -- replace them all.

Alternatively you can use plug 08-50-8xx1, 08-52-0113 contacts and key 15-04-0297.
Or plug 08-50-8xx1, 45570-3050 contacts and key 15-04-0297. The 45570-3050 contacts can withstand much higher current load but can be a real bugger to work with. I'd just go to 08-52-0113.

Also, the 45570-3050 contacts will NOT fit within CS156-xx-LR style plugs.

Headers -- 26-48-1241... but somebody bought all that I had.
