Aloha all,

I've been fixing up my MSF pin and have now turned my attention to a minor (?) issue with the backglass. It appears that there's moisture between the artwork and the glass (see pictures). Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? I thought about trying to use heat to evaporate it (I assume it's moisture), but I don't want to damage the art.

What do you think?

Thanks,

z

Might be shiny translite and static holding it to the glass.

Take the translite off. Dry it. Clean the glass. Then sprinkle some talcum power or baby powder on the glass and blow it all off. Don't wipe it. Reassemble. Fixed.

Thanks for posting this, I have a similar issue on a Diner translite. I have not tried fixing from fear of damaging it.

LTG is there a trick to removing the translite or is it as easy as removing the plastic channels and carefully peeling it off?

Take the channel off and slowly lift a corner of the translite. Unless something else is in there ( glue, cigarette smoke, etc ) it should some off easy with no damage.

zhu808 - I apologize for hijacking the thread, but I think we both have a similar issue.

I followed LTG's advice, took off the channels and the translite came off pretty easily. Somebody had used double-sided sticky tape to hold the translite down where the plastic lift channel is missing but that was about it.

The moisture in mine was just filth. This game was in a smoky bar and every part of it has been covered in nicotine.

My next question is, what can I use to clean the graphics side of the translite? Will Krud Kutter or Simple Green be too tough? Maybe some Dawn?

Thanks in advance,

Alberto

No worries. I'm glad he was able to help you too. What's the sense of having a global forum if you can't jump on a thread and get advice from someone who knows?
