I'm late to the party here but have to move 3 pins from our current house to a rental and then to our final place. The HF 20% coupon lasts to the end of the month and this would be $240 out the door with tax.

I just want to make sure I have the right 1000lb cart above - reading this thread I see that this one doesn't require modifications to work with vast majority of pins (I'm moving Sopranos, Star Wars Stern, Deadpool). The home we are buying has a nice wet bar in the loft area but I'm not sure I want to brave the 90 degree turn to get it up the stairs - its pretty damn narrow with the railing. This thread and others has me thinking I should give it a shot perhaps with one of the hand trucks I've seen on here

    Quoted from gdonovan:

Get the 500 lb. Cart, no need for the 1000 pound unit

Are you referring to this one? Have to modify the handle correct?

Hey everyone based on the posts here and my questions I went ahead and picked up the harbor freight 1000lb lift I linked to above. I went back and forth on 1000 vs 500 and finally just went for it as I need to use it this Sunday. It is definitely heavy like others have posted but I think it will have other applications around the house besides the pins so hopefully it will see more use. A couple questions on the lift and moving the pins:

    * The directions say to bleed out the hydraulic fluid and replace it - did everyone here actually do that or just used it straight out of the box?
    * I have read different opinions on lift the pins from the front or the back. I assume I want to push the lift as far under the pin as possible then lift. Suggestions?
    * Anything else I should know about using the cart on the pins? They are currently on carpet, I will use to the lift to get to our front door then just manually lift it with a friend over the door threshhold down to the sidewalk level. I'll then use the cart again to lift and then take it to the driveway. Our side walk and drive way have small cracks between sections of concrete I will do a test and see if the wheels get caught without a pin on it.
    * Anything else I should know about moving pins - I'll remove the balls, remove toppers, but the head down with cardboard between head and glass. I was planning on stretch wrapping it to help protect it a bit in transit.

This I think is the most stressful part of our move as I don't want anything to happen to the pins moving them

    Quoted from Spiderpin:

I have the 1000 lb lift. I bleed and don't think I needed too. Wished I didn't after making a mess. I have rolled mine from house to detached garage (50 ft.) With pinball machine though grass and it did great. Just get it lined up under pin and start to lift. I like my back legs to come up last. Then when your lowering it back down the back legs land first and pin is right up against the wall moves away from wall.

Thanks calfdemon for responding to the bleed question. Spiderpin - are you placing the table under the pin from the front or the back - I believe with back legs going up last your lifting from the front side of the pin. I think I will skip the bleeding part of this

    Thanks for

    Quoted from Spiderpin:

Yes I slide in from the front. Front being the coin door and start button, that's the side the handle of cart is at. So when I load to to my truck the backbox go in first.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Wow the pics are helpful, I figured you dropped the handle down to pull it without hitting front of machine but wasn't sure. I'm as prepared as I can be for tomorrow One of the pins I am moving is Sopranos..
