All I can find is this one:

    Any others being made?

    Rottendog MPU-327

SYS 7 is qutie servicable and kind of rare. If you choose to replace your original MPU for whatever reason, i will buy it to rebuild as long as it is not wasted by a poor previous repair or major battery damage.

I pay $20 each for MPUs and driver boards.

Too many problems with the rottendog 327 better to go with the pinballpcb boards little more but better

What problems with the Rottendog MPU327???? I've literally installed dozens and dozens of them and always without issue. It's a great board and a great option.

There are glitches in the software it appears the combo-rom has software issues on BK you will lose parts of speech bell sometimes stops working etc.

Altek also has glitches on xenon, fathom- experiences green multiplier target glitch, on medusa- the top targets only cycle once then stop resetting until ball is lost unlike original software etc

Guess I should mention it's for a Hyperball so the Rottendog option is out.

Wish there was an all-in-one MPU/driver for Hyperball.

Have someone rebuild your MPU unless it is missing or very damaged. I would offer, but i am taking a few months off to do a bunch of home improvement projects. Once a sys 7 mpu has a safe battery option, new IC sockets, new header pins it is as rock solid as any replacement MPU is. Anyone that tells you otherwise is full of it.

    Very true.
Just recently replaced all the Scanbe sockets and pins on our Williams System 3 Hot Tip.
It has been running like a top ever since.

I have installed a bunch of them w/o problems.

I'm in PM's with the OP. Sounds more like he has a driver board spec sol div circuit issue blowing 7408's and have given him some tips.. (not the transistor type )

The rottendog issues that I see for this generation are more with the power supply HV section than the combo CPU/Driver board. More often than not the CPU boards get a bad reputation because people install them expecting every problem to go away, but no board on earth can solve bad coils, switches and wiring.

The Kohout / PinballPCB board is much closer to the original design, and really the only option for Hyperball.

I still need the driver board but the MPU appears to be okay.

For more happy fun time, see my new thread, featuring stray 50VAC.

Ressurecting an old thread. Ks arcade says that system 7 has been removed as compatible with the 327. What are present day options. Have a Pharaoh missing the board altogether.

You might call rottendog and make sure. I think only some of the system 7 games won't work.

OR pinball pcb boards have restarted production on the driver/mpu. Says August/December

I know their sound/speech boards are the best.

Their replacement mpu/driverboards are the best, too. Glad to see they're back in production.
