So the kids have been bugging to go back to Manhattan so I told them a trip to Modern was in store. What a great place. Great lineup of games. A nice mix of classic B/W's and most of the newer Sterns. I really liked MET, ST not so much. Not sure updated game code could even save that game for me. Also love the BSD magnet dragging the ball across the playfield. Way cool. First time playing this title too. Very clean establishment and games are very well maintained for the amount of plays they get. Kudos guys! Great place. If you are in NYC, you owe it to yourself to go.

The kids begged to stay in Times Square. Our room view from the Grand Marquis right before the downpour.

That's one of my favorite places - glad you enjoyed the visit! Have a safe and happy remainder of your trip to our fair city, and enjoy the fireworks tomorrow night...they'll knock your socks off!

Great hotel view! I live in Jersey, see the city all the time, and I'm still jealous!

Great hotel to stay at. Love those elevators and the fitness center there.

I'm glad your kids loved Modern and their NYC experience. I'm sure these memories will last forever in their minds. I grew up in NYC and remember a trip my family took to Philadelphia one year. Great memories!

Star Trek is an awesome game. Do you hate flow and 60 color changing LED's?

...says Captain_Kirk. Do you think your love for Star Trek may be keeping you from being unbiased? Let the guy have his opinion (that was only one small part of his post) without snarky retorts. Ridiculous.

Nobody asked you, liver lip. My avatar has little to do with my love of that game. I've had many over the years. It's good because it's good.

Skins, if you're around all weekend come up 35 miles north of the city and play yourself some pinball at the family arcade.

No ST to muck through. Only GREAT games like Avengers, IM, JM and ACDC!

The same could be said about your lazy attempt at being snarky. Words to live by if you ask me.

Thanks for the invite. I hate driving and don't plan on doing so until we drive home. Have a great fourth and thanks again.

Where in New City are you?

You have a retail outlet or is this your personal collection?

Also OP don't forget to go see Peter at the Sunshine Landromat!
He has quite the impressive collection including a stunning Bing Bang Bar I was lucky enough to play the other night,

I hate modern games with bare-bones playfields, practically no interactive toys (just 1 drop/magnet/kicker), 6 tedious/repetitive modes that somehow become "18," crude cartoony DMD graphics, and a serious lack of distinct shots to do anything with. Just because you asked.

As for Modern Pinball, yup, the place rocks and MET is indeed the far superior game.

My wife and I just visited MP on Tuesday, had a good time and a nice talk With Steve K. We luckily got to our venue last night right before the downpour.

I asked you a legitimate question. Seems you're incapable of a direct answer either.

You lost all credibility with your "toys" comment.

Really? The, "what me?" Shtick? Nice try bub.

For future reference, if you want to illicit genuine responses, be genuine in your queries. Something along the lines of, "You didn't like ST? What was it you didn't care for?" See how that line of dialog lends itself to open discourse. Your question was intellectually bankrupt from jump. I hope that clears things up. Now go pester someone else with your baited questions.

How was your experience with the pay by the hour in modern pinball?

Do you have to pay something just to come in the door?

    #20 9 years ago

It's 10 an hour or 20 for the all day pass. Whenever I stop by I always get the all day pass cause I can never stop at an hour!

    #21 9 years ago

    Not those prices anymore.

12 for an hour. 19 for up to 3 hours. 29 for all day, plus tax on all those.

Personal collection. In between exit 10 and 11 on the Palisades Parkway. I see you're in Pearl River.

    Yup just down the road,
Actually live a few streets away from Rob
