MMr draws less current than does MM because it has a switching power supply rather than a giant transformer (and it's associated losses), so standby on a MMr is probably 130w (there is a thread were somebody measured it when it first came out, 130w seems to stick in my brain).
Don't have them turn on and off every time someone walks by. Thermal cycling is worse than just leaving the game on.
What you can do it use a $10 WiFi plug and simply program a power-on schedule from your phone.
You can, of course, change this schedule for seasonal hours from anywhere in the world.
Because the plugs read the current draw, you can actually read when someone is playing the game, or if someone has turned the game completely off.
