I picked up a Striker Xtreme in good condition with little wear, but the Mylar is getting awful. It's pitted, has dirt in some swirls, and is peeling back in some areas causing even more dirt buildup.

Do modern Sterns do okay with freeze spray and Goo Gone/alcohol and flour for Mylar and glue removal?

I had good success with a Firepower but wanted some more opinions. Stern games of this era all have some sort of clear already, right?

Well after freezing it off and pulling up the insert art on one of the lock targets, I figured what the hell, let's try brake fluid to get the glue off.

Holy.

Cow.

Miracle worker, brake fluid is.

Goo Gone did nothing, alcohol did nothing, flour did nothing with both Alcohol and Goo Gone. I got brake fluid, held my breath and sprayed a little bit and got a plastic scraper. The glue just sloughs off. It comes off in SHEETS. Brake cleaner is marvelous. I got the entire Mylar glue off a Striker Xtreme in two hours.

It isn't good for precision work since a cloth just tends to push the glue around, but it puts it to a point where Goo Gone can get to work.
