I don't know the game very well, but I recalled something similar showing up on the DMD before. Quickest image I could find in a clip of part of it (perhaps it gets progressively built as it was partially being assembled in that clip I found):

Who makes that? It doesn’t appear to be lit with an LED so I am guessing for once it’s not our hall of famer litedpinballmods.

    #657 5 years ago

It looks 3d printed (which means not as robust depending on the print settings), but it's not in a likely airball zone at least. Actually mounted with existing hardware rather than zip tied. Probably specifically made for the game, quite likely a one-off mod.

Overall, one of the better mods I've seen on the thread. I'd probably still remove it from the playfield, just because it's got good odds of getting broken if the ball hits it. Maybe set it on top of the backbox or on a nearby shelf.

Or in a nearby trash can?

Where all mods should go for sure!

    #660 5 years ago

I'm sure it enhances game play some how.

That’s pretty aggressive lighting. Looks annoying to remove.

    #663 5 years ago

Simpson’s is one of those games where most owners compulsively install any mod released no matter how ugly tacky or cluttered it makes their game.

FOR SALE: DIALED IN LE (SUICIDE SQUAD EDITION)

    https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/69430

    #665 5 years ago

    Haha I remember that one.

    #666 5 years ago

So do you think the mods help or hurt the value of this game?

I’m thinking hurt. If it was me, I’d mention that all of the original parts are included so you can put it back and don’t have to give your 7 year old nitemares.

    #667 5 years ago

It halirious and sad that he called it suicide squad edition and all he did was ad some toys to it. Nothing else was changed.

cool looking toys, no value added to the machine, price drop for the missing real parts.

The toys do look cool in and of themselves. Why he put them on Dialed In is beyond me, but if you look at the rest of his gameroom there are some questionable choices on other machines as well.

Really not surprised comments are disabled on the ad.

I've only owned games made up to the early 2000s before the manufacturers switched to all LEDs. I'm pretty anti-mod with my own pins, even when I occasionally do something small under the playfield like replace #44s under really dark dim blue inserts with brighter white LEDs, it does look much better... but I still feel a little guilty about it. I did go totally crazy and swapped a color LED DMD into my Jackbot, I'm sticking with that one, I think those are *fantastic*.

Bump! Just remembering this thread today, this was a fun thread lets get it going again.

    #692 3 years ago

there is new blood in on the Alien remake who are modding the room they plan to place the machine in. they are also building a bunch of home made toppers by committee ! smh

    #693 3 years ago

These are about half the mods I took out of the GB Premium I bought. I wish I took another picture once the other half was on the table.

So, how many people look at this thread just to see if they can score some cheap mods? Ha! There are a couple pieces in that Ghostbusters pile I might be interested in.

    #695 3 years ago

What's wrong with a switch slot protector? I wouldn't take those out

    #696 3 years ago

This is awesome, had no idea this thread existed and makes me feel so much better.

Really don’t want a “shopped” job. I want it stock, original. I’d pay more for it that way!!

Never seen a market with so many “professional” shoppers expecting more than a stock unit WITHOUT a well established name.

Why don’t I just spray-paint cars and call myself Foose!?

I don’t see any place where a ball gets dropped on the slot, that’s why I asked.
