    Quoted from BMore-Pinball:

While we are being blunt, his lifestyle is not condusive to a good work ethic. He spent more time on planning his next drink than the project at hand. He has a great heart and possibly some unrevealed skills, but difficult to utilize them to their fullest with his life choices that he seems proud of. I have never know someone to talk about their obsessive drinking like a badge of honor as does GWJ.

Agree. The drinking has blunted all his skills at this point - as most of us here who have a history with partaking too much at times in our lives can attest to.

That's attempted fraud and it needs to end on Pinside.

That’s statement hit the nail on the head.

    Quoted from AviRoo:

but i am doing it to spite ice, and i'm going to have a good time doing it.

    Quoted from AviRoo:

John is my best buddy, i care about him.

Avi, why are doing this in "Spite of Ice" when he was the only guy funding your "Best Buddies" build for him?

    #10604 1 year ago
    Quoted from mbwalker:

I feel like my favorite TV series just got cancelled mid-season.

    Quoted from Coindork:

I think it’s more of a season finale.

I don't think so. There is no reason for it to end. He still has the shop, the parts, and possibly some of the money (I hope). The desire, on the other hand.....? It remains to be seen.

A lot of the support has shifted towards AVI, however.

Because ice was hitting the wobbly pops and felt the need to go into my DM's. If he's going to tell me to go fuck myself last night and then pretend it didn't happen today. it's like okay buddy.

    Quoted from iceman44:

At the end of the day it’s just pinball. Not like this was the “build of the century”.
Some people here need to step off the high horse and quit taking themselves or this thing so seriously.
It’s Christmas! Have a great day and enjoy the birth of Christ with family and friends.
    Onward and upward we go

$6000 worth of not seriously? Because if you tell all of us you are OK with it. Then I am sure we can all be too.

    #10607 1 year ago

Wait… does this mean the party bus is NOT picking us all up for the driveway unveiling at TPF in March?

Fair enough, thanks for explaining it.

    Quoted from vdojaq:

Some of those were who got burned by his previous adventure. Turns out they were not wrong.

No one got burned by my very slow 8 year playfield journey. Should of learned to jack up the prices from the start & only sell what I had. So for all those years of selling $500 US playfields shipped to the USA, along with a shitload of discounted playfields. I made sure that even when I had to close up shop, & go through real financial pain that people still owed a Seawitch playfield got a improved version! Lots of Star Gazer & Seawitch pinball machines got improved from my efforts mostly by myself & the contractors I used. Not another Jpop in the wings or other company looking to screw people over. But you guys continue on with the crusade. The coach is the only person that I have to answer to, & all his stuff is his property in the shop.

Welcome to the club. You aren't officially a true pinsider until you get a "fuck you" drunken dm from ice.

I printed mine out and it hangs on the mantle above the fireplace.

I'll hang mine on the mantle of my fireplace so i can look at in my robe while sipping wine.

That’s an honest reply right there. Worthy of an upvote.

    #10615 1 year ago

I can’t see this changing much in John’s life. I mean he did work on the playfield what … maybe 30 min - 1 hour a day ? He’ll fill the open time without too much trouble. Of that I’m sure.

Is everyone else feeling the love on here today? Warms my heart!

    #10625 1 year ago

I told Avi things will get worse later today when most people are tired of the family & the drinking picks up. Merry Xmas!

    #10626 1 year ago

I'm sorry folks. that display was totallly childish and unprofessional on my part and i'm really sorry for the way that i portrayed myself there. I hope you guys forgive me and we can move past it.

    #10628 1 year ago

To be fair, coach hasn't posted after hitting the goofy juice in quite a while. A nice change of pace.

    Christmas update:

GWJ encouraged Avi to build the original Norris design. He also offered to share some parts. Coach was not pleased. Funding has been pulled by coach and Pandora's box has been opened to the surprise of no one.

Oh, and GWJ pissed on a grave.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

    Quoted from AviRoo:

Let's get a few things straight. If i talk shit about john it's done in a joking manner. He knows that. I know that. I'm sure everyone else understands that. the only person who seems not to is you. I'm SOOO terribly sorry you're offended on John's behalf but i literally talk to the dude everyday. I drill it into him that if there is anything that bothers him to tell me.
John didn't ask you to go into my DM's and act like a prickhead, You took that upon yourself, if it wasn't for the fact that it'd be against the rules i'd post a picture of our DM's. i wouldn't even think about it, I'm an open book.
I never asked to share parts that you purchased for me. I never asked to take any of your parts or for you to fund me. I never asked anyone on this forum to fund me. I may of fell flat on a few jokes here and there but i'm not out 6k and acting like a prick on a pinball forum to justify the money wasted and spent.
With that said i'm ignoring you again. I thought you were capable of reasonable discussion but I guess Rich American pricks aren't.

For all of the thread's consumption content, Avi has soberly identified the mean spirited drunk who has never been able to handle his booze.

Since this journey is coming to a close, I will share the message I sent to iceman back in September that GWJ took to mean he was "blacklisted."

I have seen too many failed pinball endeavors over the years and this project had all the markings. Those projects that have succeeded, even as homebrews, have shown more hardwork and effort than talk.

What I couldn't "help" with here was that the person leading the charge was convinced they knew it all. Anyone offering to help or give advice was frustrated to see it ignored.

I hope everyone finds stimulating pinball projects to participate in for 2023!

    Merry Christmas!

In all fairness it does sound a bit like John was “blacklisted”.

Now that said do you have any idea what kind of dumbass you have to be to have to be for the owner of a company to say “Please don’t use me”?

I know at least one person who doesn’t.

    #10634 1 year ago

Well guys, we had a good run.

I'll leave you with this thought:

"Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."

For context, at the time, we were out of stock on boards and he was trying to get his project finished by TPF. Knowing that TPF was barely 6 months away, I knew he better get started asap.

It was the best of pinside, it was the worst of pinside, it was the age of expired meats, it was the age of double digit beer counts, it was the epoch of worn out vhs porn, it was the epoch of scattered breadcrumbs, it was the season of full coke machines, it was the season of bus rides and lost nickel bets, it was the spring of hope for a flipping white wood, it was the winter of GWJ.

    Or not..
