    And here's a musical version:

How did this have no upvotes? I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time.

Likely more interesting characters. Playfield survived the close quarters. Took the bus with the local bums to the downtown, & one guy looked liked he had a bag of rags. Lady bus driver was glad it was the last stop. Got a quick 1 stop to the Irish bar, & the lone lady was on something. No correct change, she got off the bus on her own after coming up short, & I said no the bus driver will give you a ride on the bus (any excuse is usually acceptable). Then she would not sit down until I said the driver is waiting, & then she went on some type of tirade about Vagina something. Glad to leave her on the bus with the driver. Mild night here with light rain. Had 3 irish beers, talked with the musician, & listened to some good music. Bar was quiet & closed at 11 pm.
I will finish what I can to Motordome Thursday, & hopefully get back to the whitewood. A little hard on Avi, Bally Midway garbage pins get me down.

You should have offered the customer the opportunity to put Motordome out of its misery and burn it for firewood. Not all pins deserve to survive. Motordome doesn’t.

Also do you at least get the privilege of discount beer or an open bar tab given your frequency of visits ? They should at a minimum let you hang your own personal beer stein on the wall for use when you come in.

Deep down there is a tiny ember of Christmas Cheer still burning (and it made a cold heart like me smile too ).

Am I the only one having a tough time understanding this post? Usually I can decipher what John says but this one I get totally lost.

Got the vintage porn on again?

    rd

    #9607 1 year ago

Not playing my porn when Avi is there. I am sure the younger generation has better access to modern stuff, with less work involved. No access to burn stuff anymore like having a backyard fire pit, & sending stuff into a good fire. Homelessness, & mental illness seems to be more wide spread in the public view. Just like tents & people pan handling throughout the city. The female bartender knows my name, & no discount there or special treatment.

    Stream of consciousness writing.

James Joyce, William Faulkner, Marcel Proust. - GWJ is pioneering the bar stool version.

Agreed. This pin isn't worth the time and effort. Why not give it to Mr. BMW as a trade for his in pieces IJ?

You got to have a little faith. Just like kids waiting for xmas. Had the mac & cheese at the bus stop. Food for the day plus my kale salad remains. Avi had a couple of cinnamon donuts along with myself yesterday. Another mild & wet day. Shop seems to be better with Mr BMW playfield gone, still the monster Drag Race still here, & he did not bust a move on my beer or to bring some. Plan on doing more wiring later today. Motordome goes Friday. Easy as ____ _______ ________ (breadcrumb).

Before you get too far down the wiring rabbit hole, shouldn't you cut the main playfield sides off to a standard dimension? Just seems like it'd be easier to do it now than later.

No works good on the saw horses. Manufactures & owners like their rotiseries. I prefer over sized plywood on plastic sawhorses for testing.

Faulkner with the brevity of Hemingway? No thrills, factual story telling in a stream of conscious writing style where past, present, and future tense are intermingled.

    Quoted from blueberryjohnson:

Faulkner was the one that came to mind for me as well. I just figured there are probably others that bigger book knowers would suggest (and maybe there are).

I've never read any Proust. Maybe I'll try this winter. James Joyce is a good example though

Seems like that big leather chair takes up more space than anything. Maybe a couple shop stools would be better that that big chair taking up all that space. But you may need it to nap in and for porn watching!

One of the pieces of furniture I bought after my mom died from multiple cancers. Gets good use, every other stool or chair has seen a better life. Here before it goes in the dumpster out back. Motordome is flashing away to get us in the xmas mood.
Made a run to the beer store to load up for Thursday night social at the workshop. Pop machine only cost a local $250 US, been used here & at the old shop until he builds a garage down the road. Avi is doing the final vacuum on Motordome. Stuff for the owner in a bag.

The ultra wide body whitewood serves to accommodate discounted food products. Also John’s confidence in this supported oversize playfield methodology leads me to believe this may be a path travelled before. Or not…

Avi is being moved into team build member. He will try his luck with the SAVED target bank switches. Motordome was tested by Avi & ready to leave Friday. Had half my yams, & going for some kale salad.

Is the mac and cheese cold?

    Quoted from Roostking:

Is the mac and cheese cold?

Yes the mac & cheese is cold. Just like everything else. They serve hot food to go at most large grocery stores in Canada. Motordome is now leaving this afternoon. Avi is hard at it & wearing safety glasses during the soldering. A slow learning curve towards safety.

Damn dude, why choose such a hard life? Microwaves are cheap, you could make some killer cold busting chicken soup or chili(both of which you mentioned you liked the other day) in a crock pot. I know its not part of the plan, but you can be good to and for yourself if you just do little things for you, like heating up cold mac and cheese. That is no way to live bud and you dont have too.

Is Avi getting paid by the Operator?

Nope. Operator doesn't like it when i touch or do anything for him. So i don't get paid for anything. which is fine. I'm there if he wants the help.

    Quoted from PantherCityPins:

Watch Avi have this thing flipping in two days…

I'm going to sound incredibly egotistical/cocky but the playfield doesn't look like THAT much works. If all it is. is soldering the wires to bleh blah and blah bleh. Assuming everything was there and working.. It probably would only take a few days. But the programming side of it i don't know shit about. John would realistically be walking me through all the stuff anyways.

    #9639 1 year ago

Had to celebrate the Motordome leaving. Avi finished the target bank switch wiring. I do compensate him for learning & working at the shop. Went to the bar, played some pool, & Avi usually lets me win with my poor eyesight. Waited around the 2 bar areas until his dad picked him up from the bar. Had 5 beers & the social starts soon. Got my supper coking & relaxing to some classic VHS porn, even has the crap lines going on from worn out tape.

John has been using an AI website to write his posts for 10 years. He's so far ahead of the curve he lapped himself. Or more recently fapped himself. When he said he had a head cold he meant he left his fly open.
    etc, etc, etc

Avi, thanks for clarifying this. Glad to hear you are getting some compensation from GWJ but friendly advice is to always know your worth. Make sure you are getting paid fairly.

It looks like my read on the situation from the other day was pretty correct. In that case, I think GWJ should be making sure he gets fair compensation from the Operator.

Eh. I don't mind it. I don't really even enjoy taking any money from GWJ or the operator anyways. GWJ doesn't get paid by the operator because GWJ doesn't pay for the rent. It's only the Operator. At one point the operator did ask if i wanted to pay for a spot in there but the realistic of it is. It's cramped as fuck as is and it makes little to no sense for me to continuously pay for a space that i don't make a income from. I say it every year but after the winter if i have some money. I'd like to redo the garage beside my house a little. it'd be a wicked space to have for storage / workshop. Especially because we aren't using it for nothing as is.
