I heard someone was looking for Whales over the weekend.
Any truth to this rumor?

I don’t have the monies to figure that one out
Well it seems like I was shut down. There is the person who figured out likely what I am up to minutes ago. This thread seems to have turned into a sequel to the Deeproot thread, except it's been mashed up with a Trailer Park Boys level of intelligence and business acumen. John, you should call your new pinball venture Sunnyvale Pinball.
For those that do not know the actors control the Trailer Park Boys license.

David Fix from American Pinball can confirm this, & the other person who might want to remain silent. See you guys later while I work on my plans this summer in Nova Scotia.
I just thought of a great idea for a TV show
Reverse Shark Tank
The investors have to come up with the money first then the people with the idea for the product reveal.
That or they have to guess what the product is.
ABC, CBS, NBC please PM me
You are asking for American money to make a Trailer Park Boys pin? Show is kind of funny but not that big here in the States.

Confirm or deny: Trailer Park Boys is the license you seek?
I’m pretty sure the trailer park boys have their own weed company. Could we work in a dispenser that kicks out a joint for high scores?
Quoted from Beechwood:Confirm or deny: Trailer Park Boys is the license you seek?
Yes. Thought that is what I said above, & David Fix was told at Pintastic Show. I prefer the shows over the movies, which is what I am looking for. Lots of treasure to be mined in the series.
Festival of the Whales. Every February in Dana Point.
Watch the Grey Whales migrate in Dec. Jan. and Feb.
March, April and May we see the Grey Whales and the 2nd largest mammal the Fin Whale. Humpback Whales and Minke Whales are spotted periodically.
June, July, and August we are able to see the Blue Whale. The world's largest mammal. The tongue of a Blue Whale can weigh more than an elephant. This must be why John is searching for his Whale in July. Fins, Humpback, and Minke's can be seen now as well.
Sept, Oct. and Nov have Humpbacks and Grey Whales in the area. Every now and then an Orca will show up.
Not sure that John is in the right spot to find Whales.

Lots of real whales around Nova Scotia. We have a huge coast around the province with whale watching tours at different locations.

Why wasn’t this mentioned in the first post in the other thread? Why leave people to guess?

Trolling

To be fair, many of your posts are difficult to decipher on occasion.
Quoted from greatwichjohn:Trailer Park Boys.
I just spent a minute watching one of their bits.
I want that minute back.
Really.
Quoted from Mrsiyufy:We need a poll:
It goes into production
Plan B (mini whales)
It dies
Poll is up, slightly altered for entertainment value.
These "Ok I'll start a new thread after the old one is shut down" threads never last too long.
There's a reason Whale 1 was harpooned.
Save the whales?
Quoted from Beechwood:Poll is up, slightly altered for entertainment value.
There's no 'it dies' or 'John gets banned from Pinside' option.

We would have never known what title was to be released in March of 2023 though.

It’s like feeding time at the zoo for people wanting their IBTL

If they ban GWJ from pinside, I will go on a hunger strike.

It's the way of the road...
I am sure I am in the minority but this for me is a sure buy. I fell onto the trailer park boys years ago when I put on there first movie having no idea why they were or anything about them. Been a huge fan from that day on, would be a great pin for guys like me, for 95% of others, not so much.
Quoted from greatwichjohn:John, you should call your new pinball venture Sunnyvale Pinball.
Sunnyvale , Australian style .
Quoted from poppapin:I'd rather have a "My Name Is Earl" pin. That was set in a trailer park.
Now that would be cool , modes - crossing things off Earl's list .
Not to mention , Catalina and Joy
On a positive note, there are quite a few cameos to rope people into the license-
Snoop Dogg
Tom Arnold
Sebastian Bach
Phil Collins (not the one your are thinking!)
Jimmy Kimmel
TPB Could be a good license, but its a bit of a niche audience. Tons and tons of "Ricky-isms" are available for callouts. They are really stupid at face value, but then you realize they are pretty brilliant when you think about what someone had to be smoking to come up with them.
If you have never seen the show, watch the first season and at least get into the second season. The pilot season is filmed differently than the following season, but the background info is important. I think it peaked around season 8 when they had Snoop Dogg and Tom Arnold cameo in a few episodes, and Bubbles Shed 'N Breakfast huts were turned into whorehouses.

Can you imagine how many modes there could be? Definitely more than there are episodes considering he had a long list.

Shhh! Don't say anything. It's probably giving John ideas. Haha
So was the Whale harpooned or not? It sounded as if John had at least met with one recently (as posted on the other thread before it was locked)... what was the outcome of that?
I was off pinside all weekend while I enjoyed the holiday's here in the US. My guess was trailer park boys since like page 2. Honestly I do think thats a good idea for a theme but thats about where all the good ideas ended. David Fix being mentioned is comical to me as well. We all know he's the king of good ideas and great themes in pinball. I don't picture him being Greatwich 2.0 at some point in the future, no no...certainly not.
The person wants to remain silent who I talked to last night. I did not start a new thread after mine was shutdown. Maybe I am not allowed to search out a Big Whale investor here? I wanted to remain silent on the license because someone might still grab it with the boys. Time will tell this summer when things are sorted through. Like I have said there are many people in my area interested in getting into building pinball machines. Same as in the USA, who have gone into Stealth Mode. All I can say is David Fix, & I talked about it at the Pintastic Show Sunday before he left. I talked with Jack, Steve, & John over the weekend, other industry people but I did not mention it. Contrary to what people know, David Fix, & I go back many years ago.
I don't know why thread one was borked. I wish it had not been. I am glad this one has risen up to keep the dream alive.
Suggestion to OP Beechwood to hopefully avoid a similar fate here: Update thread title to something like Trailer Park Boys Pinball and relocate it to the homebrew (or boutique) forum. It will be a community service to stay abreast of developments regarding this pre-production machine.
Big whales have little whales that thrive on generosity
and little whales have lesser still, on to mediocrity.
I worked once with a guy who looked like Bubbles from tpb. Of course everyone called him Bubbles. Ironically his name was John
