Fair enough but ignoring his requests for help for weeks on end the inexcusable. CGC is not handling this particular issue well at all.

Quoted from teekee:There were a few guys that I know of that actually received fully populated drop in playfields...
No direct experience but I recall reading that Stern was quite resistant to sending out new playfields in that case, so only the most persistent customers got that resolution. That said, I doubt Stern just ignored requests for help (unless and until the customer posted to complain on Pinside).
Quoted from vid1900:Try cutting up a plastic milk jug and see if it defuses the light enough to make a difference.
Try stacking 2 slices also.
Another approach would be putting a bit of cotton torn off of a cotton ball up under the insert to diffuse the LED light (I've done this successfully on the flasher domes on my Shadow since LED flashers are a bit bright). Of course if the LEDs are putting out a lot of heat that might be a long-term concerns for the cotton balls, but if you're just using it for a couple of minutes to see if diffusing the light helps with the problem, might be worth a shot.
Quoted from jackofdiamonds:Its a shitshow.Original MM prices are creeping back up as a result.
Thinking of selling yours?
Not sure the context but here's a (second hand) report that someone got CGC to send them a new playfield:
