Got a totally unexpected email yesterday that my game had shipped. I figured I'd be in the next batch after the move and it wouldn't be until May/June before I saw my game.
While I was setting up the game, the kids entertained themselves. I actually think they cared more about playing with the dolly than playing a new pinball machine.
The added benefits of a new pin:
DSC_1855 (Custom).JPGQuoted from Crash:Interestingly enough there is a 14 pin header in the upper right corner of the CPU board labeled "DMD."
Good question. Where did you get that pic? It must be a protype (revision 0.1) and is different than what is in my game (Rev 1). However, the DMD pins are still on the Rev 1 board but in a different spot.
Also, the amp is different on the board you have shown. It is now an SMT part.
Quoted from Crash:I was thinking maybe PPS had originally planned on using a standard DMD before they decided to use an LCD panel, but the fact that it's still there is promising.
Unfortunately I don't have an LED DMD handy to use for testing. And I don't feel like hooking up a HV PS to try and run a plasma DMD. I'll have to leave this one up to someone else, hopefully someone will check it out.
Quoted from IndianaPwns:Any corners cut (cheap wood, flimsy plastics)?
Nope. It is extremely well done.
Quoted from Gritty:Anyone swap out gold for black or stainless yet?
Yes, swapped gold for stainless. Not because I had a problem with the gold, but because my game was going on location. I saw no reason for gold trim on a location game that kids grub up with sticky/greasy pizza hands every day. This way I'll have the gold in new condition and can reinstall it if I want to keep the game in my basement or sell it.
Quoted from calico1997:As a side comment, while in the lobby of CGC I saw another Williams game disassembled. It had green aliens on the cabinet artwork.
Party Zone!
