Damn, that looks real!

Quoted from Pdxmonkey:The chrome looks much nicer.
Stainless it what I had ordered on mine. Too much can go wrong with faux gold.
Quoted from Rarehero:So is it a powdercoated gold (like Metalica LE's platinum color) or a "brass" gold like most gold games have?
i was thinking of ordering........ ......... a pizza!
Quoted from lapean111:I am hoping for white bats from the factory, last thing I want to do is tear into a brand new game to replace the bats.
Don't worry. They promised this machine would look and play just like the original, less the Williams logo.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:Didn't rick say the ramp entrances were updates to prevent STDM balls?
I didn't know that was a problem with the original ramps. Weren't the originals designed to prevent this?
If not then why make the game easier?
Quoted from shimoda:Why does a rerelease have to be called a refake when it has new electronics?
Electronics doesn't bother me as much as redesigning the ramps to make the game easier. If in fact that was the reason for doing it. It may seem minor, but to competitors it may not be.
Quoted from vid1900:You can switch the ramp flaps back to the old style any time you want for $5.
It is not the flaps vid, It looks like the cut-out on the ramp itself has been changed.
Quoted from vid1900:I'm not seeing it (not on my phone at least).
I don't know. Maybe it is an optical delusion.
Quoted from John_I:Nothing is "easier" from what I see. I remember years ago someone having problems making repro ramps because that feature was patented.
I was just going by the poster that said Rick had stated that these were redesigned to prevent SDTM drains and the article in pinball news that also says they are different. At first I thought I could see it, but maybe vid is right, it is just the flap.
Quoted from Manic:Do the pics show the narrow triangles down by the ramp entrance? In a pic the area past the metal flap on the ramp will look like there is a "split" in the ramp but that is just the long edge of the plastic triangular part.
They look pretty close to what I had on mine, but they weren't original either. Although something always seemed a little different than what I had remembered when the machine was new. But it played great. It was a beautiful machine with a great theme and great artwork. They have done a wonderful job reproducing this classic, and anyone that gets one is getting a piece of pinball history.
Quoted from viper001:Guys, I've been an early critic on this project but there is nothing wrong with the ramps on Rick's games. My MM still has the original ramps on both sides and they came from the factory with those splits and plastic diverter triangles. In fact at the time it was considered an innovation which is why it was patented to begin with. For the folks that haven't been around long or have maybe only seen aftermarket ramps give it a rest, MMr plastic ramps are spot on perfect.
Thanks for helping clear that up. If enough people tell you something is different, you might tend to believe them.
Quoted from bigdaddy07:I've never played an MM with a shaker and am curious as to how well it integrates into this game since it was not originally coded for it.
Mine had a shaker and was integrated very well using flashers as a signal. I'm sure the shaker in MMr will be a must have item.
