Credible report in the other thread that PPS has begun telling its customers their games are ready to ship. So these should start showing up on door-steps relatively soon.

Quoted from Ryu21:

I'm interested in an LE. Is there any left to order?

Seems relatively likely. Here's a list of the resellers from PPS' website:
http://www.planetarypinball.com/category/mmr-resell/

Might be worth calling around to see if you can catch a break on shipping, etc.

You could also post a WTB add and see if there's anyone that wants to get out before the games start to ship. You'd have to talk to Rick at PPS about how warranty support would be handled but I think a few pre-orders have changed hands already.

Quoted from Whysnow:

What was your original agreement? Glad you are getting your game back, but I would not be happy with them bastardizing an original game with so many remake parts, assuming your original was in good condition to begin with.
Also seems odd after all that effort to reassemble with remake parts that they would not have given you back your original AND a remake for loaning out your game for so long???

Why would you assume that what pin-pimp described (new playfield, new hardware and new cabinet installed) isn't the deal he agreed to with PPS when he loaned the game in the first place? If PPS did something different (worse) than agreed, I don't imagine pin-pimp would be posting happily about the result ...

Having said that, it's surprising that PPS/CGC wouldn't just have bought their own copy of the game to work off of. Using a loaner just seems like a hassle for relatively small savings in the context of an $8 million project.

Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

I would love a MM like that. It's got history and it's one of a kind.

Quoted from pin-pimp:

Well then there is the whole story of how I got the pin itself. I found it in a strip club in Alaska about 5 years ago. Tried forever to track down the owner and the trail went hot and cold so many times. I always had a bunch of cash on standby in case my deal could go down. Then finaly made a deal and got it 3 years ago. I remember the feeling I had as I drove to go pick it up, was like Christmas morning for a 10 year old boy. Paid $6000 for it, back then that was a fair price for a MM that needed shopped and smelled like hookers smoke and shame.

Speaking of history and one of a kind!

Quoted from teekee:

Did anyone send in their money for remake number 2?

Whatever happened to "SEND MONEY NOW", teekee? Did it go the way of ?

It's like we don't even know you anymore!

Quoted from Ryu21:

Anyone want to take a guess at what the next delay issue will be? The weather? Shipping company logistics?

Did you end up trying to order an MMR LE? If so who did you order it through?

[EDIT: just read on the PPS forum that PPS is still selling MMR LE directly if you're seriously interested -- though I'd still consider calling around to see if you can get a better deal on shipping or price from another distributor]

Quoted from Steve_in_Escalon:

Looks like CG should have used Stern for both assembly and packaging.

At this point who knows, but it would make sense that Stern would be packaging these games as well (for truck transport to CGC, from whence they'll be sent on to the distributors). It's a little hard to imagine that a) Stern would allow CGC to set up a packaging operation in the middle of Stern's factory or b) that they'd ship the games unpackaged to CGC and only box them there. But like I said, who knows!

Quoted from Razorbak86:

Are they still posting regular updates on the PPS website?

The last official update was 2/25, saying the first games would likely ship 2/27 or 3/2. Sounds like that didn't happen, and Rick hasn't posted further updates on shipping dates.

Quoted from Doostur:

Shame all this drama revolving this pin has taken so much excitement way from me eventually getting it....

I hear what you're saying. But if the game is as good as we all hope it will be, I imagine that will all go by the wayside pretty quickly and you'll just be enjoying your new MMr for years to come.

Quoted from stangbat:

Jack didn't pay CG, WE paid CG! Jack merely collected the money, he's a distributor.

Well JJP can't have paid the entire $8k MSRP to CGC. At most JJP would have transferred the dealer's wholesale price per game.

Quoted from pezpunk:

- cabinet is painted black inside.
- playfield has double clear coat.

Quoted from jfh:

I believe these two are on the LE only (and the backbox is more finished).

Although the double clear coat was initially advertised as LE only, PPS quickly responded to fan uproar and agreed to include it on the Standard as well.

Quoted from teekee:

Yes, had to use a stick cuz they wouldn't let me in with daddy's shotgun...

At what age did you graduate from shooting bears in a cage to fish in a barrel?
