Quoted from lapean111:

I am willing to bet this issue has been addressed, and the production machines won't exhibit the same issues.

I am willing to bet Chicago Gaming won't be wanting to send out replacement playfields under warrantee to those that are not happy.

#130 9 years ago

Some are positive that it doesn't look right.

#141 9 years ago
Quoted from jalpert:

if it's good enough for HEP it's good enough for MMr.

HEP will use whatever playfield you provide. This is an IPB repro playfield with corrections made to the shooter lane by HEP. I think I read somewhere that MMr is using Mirco's artwork.

Quoted from jwilson:

it's possible for variations in positions to creep in during the process.

If that was the case, wouldn't it move the entire screen to the left or the right? On this MMr it looks as if the artwork is too far left on the left side and too far right on the right side. That or the holes are wrong.
I have looked at an original, and the lower holes are not centered, but it is a proportional offset on both sides, The uppers are centered and nowhere does the hole cut to the edge

#155 9 years ago

Here is an original MM playfield. I borrowed this from a friend. Note the slight offset on the lower holes, and the centered upper hole.

noone mentioned how missaligned the actual switch is in the slot. My ocd would kick in and have to fix that..

Well...as Clint would say..."A man has to know his limitations."

He also says "I know a great place to get some hotdogs".

One of my favorites

Quoted from dkazz1:

This thread is positively better with Clint Eastwood involved in it

Agreed!

Quoted from Snowhyt:

If you think present values on newer games will hold talk to the woodrail guys.

Not sure what that really means when some woodrails are now 20-30 times the value of their original cost without the chances of any remakes in site. Worst case is the woodrail is still of equal value to it's original cost so long as it's not worn out.

#318 9 years ago
Quoted from Snowhyt:

The point I was trying to make was woodrails were really hot and a lot higher priced 10 years ago

Glad I waited then. As the next one incoming will probably be a woody. And a very nice one indeed.

Quoted from Rarehero:

I think shipment in February seems like an actual reality at this point.

It looks like Stern has higher quality control standards than those that are bringing them parts. Good to have a true veteran outfit assembling these things.

#365 9 years ago
Quoted from CAPnT_PPS:

Last week, during Stern’s inbound inspection process, finishing issues were identified with four MMR components.

Quoted from Tkaye:

Interesting....now the masses are pleased Stern is involved? Their quality control always in question but now it's "Thank God CGC isn't doing assembly"?

Well somebody has to make sure all these reproduction parts coming from different vendors all fit together and work. Have you ever tried to hammer a square peg into a round hole?

#368 9 years ago

Stern is probably happy that they can assemble these and won't have to deal with any warrantee problems or any other issues that arise.

#374 9 years ago
Quoted from anubis2night:

Applauding them for checking product before installing is like me applauding my mechanic when he shows me a dirty oil filter. That's sort of his job.

Bad comparison. If you bring a mechanic your own parts to install, he will tell you he is not responsible if they fail later on. Applaud that!

#378 9 years ago
Quoted from anubis2night:

You always check parts before starting up a project.

I always did. And the only time I ever called a customer that brought me his own parts is if they didn't fit.
Nobody applauded me for that.

#380 9 years ago
Quoted from anubis2night:

Thank god this isn't something being directly influenced by production or manufacturing in China.

Yeah, hate to think those parts that were sent back came from there.

#388 9 years ago

My guess is that Stern took the parts that were given and found that they could not assemble it. I don't think they would have been very concerned if the parts had all fit together. After all they are only being paid to assemble these machines.

#392 9 years ago
Quoted from PPS:

noone wants inventory sitting ...

#394 9 years ago

Another possibility is that the playfields were drilled wrong. I have watched a video where Chris Hutchins had to modify a replacement MM playfield to make it work in an existing game.
So instead of replacing all the playfields maybe they decided to modify the parts that wouldn't fit.

#399 9 years ago
Quoted from Skins:

That was an ipb playfield, not Mirco's.

So this will be a Mirco, not an IPB, CGC, PPS, or Williams. Thanks for clearing that up. Didn't Mirco use two different shades of purple?

#401 9 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

CGC is using Mirco's art work.
LTG : )™

A "joint " effort then. Mirco:CGC.pngMirco:CGC.png

#439 9 years ago

The only reason I didn't thumb him up was the part about the pre-order model.

It looks like the tearing issue, the colorizing of the display issue, the fliptronics issue, the transformer issue, the coin mech issue, the bad alignment of art issue, the getting refunds issue, the lack of communication issue, the defective parts issue, the not in production yet issue, and the people that are still wondering about the quality of this product issue have now all been addressed.

#476 9 years ago

Did I miss one pezpunk?

#478 9 years ago

Those were positive revelations.

#482 9 years ago
Quoted from Nilroc:

I have to disagree with you on the lack of communication issue.
Your not even in on MMR and you seem to have all the information on MMR.
Looks to me like great communication!
