If my mmr has been on for a while and I shut it down and try to turn it on 30 seconds later, I get the error message pictured here. When I disconnect the molex pictured here (with the black and yellow wires. It comes from the 12v power box to power the pcb.) and reseat it, the error message clears and the game boots up and plays. If I shut it down when its warm and wait 5 minutes, it turns back on normally without having to reseat anything. Could something be heating up to cause this?
I have been communicating with Chicago gaming and they have been accommodating and helpful. But I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone has an opininion on it. Thanks

Getting the protectors in slowly but surely. Not entirely happy with the Merlin hole protector. I have the Merlin protector on its way fro Pinbits. I have the lighted troll eye led kit coming too. That should be cool

Would some one mind shooting a picture under the playfield for me. I need to see the wiring on molex connectors 25, 22, 24, and 37. I accidentally pulled out a wire on one of them while installing the Merlin hole protector. They're located to the left of the Merlin hole solenoid. Thanks!

Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Any Ideas? (Cliffy Moat Jump Protector install...)

I just put mine in today. take the two nuts off of the plastic. you should be able to squeeze a nut driver or socket with an extension bar in to loosen the screws.

#1142 7 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

2 nuts meaning nut near a red cone light behind and above the moat jump and the second one is the catapault ball guide nut on the side? Sorry looked at this for awhile yesterday and did not see how to get the plastic loose.

Catapult side nut and then the two nuts on the plastic. You should also compress a few of those off white connectors to loosen up the tower plastics that has the red flasher in it. That way you can move the plastics around to acess that particular nut much easier.

Would you mind snapping a picture for me regarding this?

I'm much happier with the Merlin hole protector now. I shimmed it and think its a bit broken in now.

Quoted from bkaelin:

By the way, I tried switching out the CAT 5 cable, hoping that would get the game going. Nope. Not the cable.

When I would reseat this power connector to the pcb my game would clear the hardware error and work fine. The error continued to happen sporadically so cgc sent me a new pcb and the game works fine now.

Getting there...

Quoted from chrisnack:

Be careful with how bright they are. I have the pinwize ones... i had to put in 100k resisters to get them at a brightness level i was ok with and didn't blind you. I wanted the eyes lit, but i still wanted to be able to see the trolls.
Easy enough to add resisters to dim them down.

Thanks. They look a bit brighter in the pic. Hopefully they wont be too bright on the game

Speaker lights turned out nice!

Nice. Is it color changing or just one specific color?

Quoted from chrisnack:

Did you wire them to flash or anything? Or just on when the trolls pop up?
Mine just come up with the trolls, been debating about rewiring to flash when hit.

Just when they pop up. I bought the Pinbits kit. Time consuming, for me anyway, but I like the way they look.

#1345 7 years ago
Quoted from chrisnack:

How much was the pinbits kit? I assume you had to install then?
I have the pinwize kit, it was a touch over $120 i think, but all i had to do was swap the trolls. The wiring, LED's etc are all top notch. Even have epoxy over the LED's so they aren't directly exposed to ball contact. My only complaint was that they were STUPID bright, but that was remedied VERY easily with some resisters.

14 bucks for the pinbits kit. It took me a few hours to do it. i actually screwed up 4 of the 6 lights that came with the kit. They gave 2 extras just in case. Guess they didn't anticipate someone like me working on it! I found those leds in my picture in my toolbox. They worked out perfect.
I did have to solder everything but everything was included. Diodes, wire, leds, etc

Is anybody making a Williams decal for that blank space on the speaker panel?

#1518 7 years ago
Quoted from NonStopSwagger:

They are out there, I bought one from a guy whos friend runs a print shop. But its against pinside TOS to list them, as its copyright infringement. Instead you are encouraged to buy a complete panel from PPS, and go through the pain of stripping your old panel (and its a royal pain).

Thanks. I found something

#1519 7 years ago
Quoted from DocRotCod:

Sorry, I mean the 'Williams' logo that is in the middle of the panel and below the DMD.

Sorry, I practically duplicated your post

My mmr seems to tilt easier than any other machine I've played. I have the tilt bob adjusted as low as it can go but it still tilts with the slightest movement.
