It’s official! I’M JOINING THE CLUB. Just sent PPS a check for MMr, hdcolor and shaker motor upgrade. Can’t wait!

Hahahaha, you weren’t kidding. Good to meet you today.

Hey Dan! Maybe you can recommend a speaker upgrade? I hear MMr could use it...

Picked up my new MMr at the shipper’s platform Friday morning instead of waiting until Tuesday. It’s awesome. The flippers need some adjusting but the one minor problem that stands out is the ball launch to start a game. When the game tries to load the Ball from the trough, it oftentimes settles askew of the plunger resulting in a fail launch attempt. One time, the ball fell into the cabinet, so I know something must be off. Has anybody ever experienced this? I’ll take a pic of it later if that helps. It’s as if a guide is missing or something. Other than that, it’s fantastic.

After comparing it to my other machines, it definitely appears that the ball guide is missing. I made my own which seems to be working now, but I would like to obtain the original part. Here’s some before and after pics:

Go to Chicago-Gaming.com and under Support open a ticket on the Help desk. Please include pictures of yours and of the part missing like above.
LTG : )

Will do. Thank you, Lloyd. : )

Looks like you got shorted a post!

How funny! My homemade guide looks cleaner! Haha. At least CGC will know I didn’t make this up. It’s a long weekend, so I don’t expect to hear from them until Tuesday. The game is playable so I’m not worried. I had to cut the opening up a little wider and now it works 100%. This game is so fun. Quite a bit tougher than the Pinball Arcade simulator. You can have a great game one time and then just an absolutely horrible one the next.

+2 just ordered some. Looked on eBay for a better deal, none to be had.

Quoted from pintechev:

Good job on a temporary workaround!

Thank you, sir. Just a little aluminum and a bender. I’ve made my own ball guides for my Gorgar out of aluminum, as they were shot when I purchased it. Now the ball rolls smoothly onto the flippers without bouncing. The downside is aluminum is soft, and will deform quicker than stainless, but I’ve had the machine over five years and they still look great.

The detail is incredible!

Quoted from metahugh:

I just received my MMR near the beginning of May and I'm loving the gameplay so far! Quick question: My game will tell me that I am Joust Champion but then when the game ends I am not asked to enter my initials. I see the default joust champion score is @ 5. Is this a bug related to MM in general or just MMR?

That means you have to get 6 completed joust challenges to beat the default champion. The same goes for damsel, trolls, peasants and catapult. It’s very tough.

Quoted from Goalie:

I ordered my MMR on Friday, I can't wait for it to get here! For a HUO what are the must have protectors? Merlin hole and moat?

Congratulations on the purchase! I love mine.

For HUO, you don’t really NEED protectors. The Mantis moat protector is probably the most important. It protects the hinges and the castle “wall” jump. Everything else is up to each individual’s taste. So far, the most obvious wear I’ve noticed are all the ball divots in the playfield. Pretty much to be expected.

Quoted from Damien:

Was hoping there might be a way to reapply that strip?
It looks like some sort of trim, not actual wood?

I’d be afraid of doing more damage removing the existing strip. If you have the small piece that broke off, you could try gluing it back (if you could keep it looking clean), but if not, you’re going to have to try to find a source for that strip. Maybe contact CGC?

#3525 10 months ago
Quoted from gunstarhero:

Does anyone want to share what they’ve adjusted their power levels to in the CGC menu? I am still running default for all mine, but was experimenting and wondered what other people had done.

I haven’t changed anything yet. Once in a while, I get two or three balls stuck in the catapult and eventually have to drop the glass back to get them out. Thinking of maybe increasing the PL of the catapult.

How about this?

That’s tougher than the hole in one shot on NGG!

You probably just have a broken wire in the thin, secondary winding. Find the break, unwind it so you can rethread it to the solder tab, scrape of some of the red coating so you can re-solder it to the tab. (Don’t forget to remove the broken piece) That’ll save you the cost and time of buying a new coil.

#3583 8 months ago
Quoted from Coyote:

If it's 0 ohms, it's a short, not an open connection.

In that case, Jay, I see a new flipper coil in your future. Damn electronic nomenclature!

Quoted from netman63129:

Has anyone tried installing the Williams WPC95 Speaker Panel in an MMR...does it fit?
Or has anyone found a decal that fits in the space left empty by the missing Williams logo?

I’m curious about this, too. It doesn’t necessarily need to be the Williams logo, (which can’t be sold here due to copyright violations), but maybe anything customizable. How about a “Medieval Madness” sticker with some cool graphics?

#3744 5 months ago

I found this picture on Ed Cheung’s website. I do not have to expertise to make a sticker for speaker panel speaker, but maybe some can or has done this?
If this picture was stretched to fit the blank space on the panel, it might look pretty cool.

#3746 5 months ago

Yeah, I was worried about that. I’ll keep looking.

#3747 5 months ago

I couldn’t find anything with good resolution. Maybe a pic of the side art on the machine would suffice? I’m guessing left side since the flipper button on the right interferes with the arrow. Of course, a home pic would have to be cropped etc...

#3749 5 months ago

Here’s a pic of the right side. (Easier to take w/o having to move the machine)

#3752 5 months ago
Quoted from Drewblood419:

Before my friend made the decal I have on my machine, my plan was to take a hi-res picture/scan of the bottom of the front of my MMR cab then resize the image, bring it to a local sign shop(where he had the current decal printed) and have one made up. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about

[quoted image]

Looks like it’s been done already...

Quoted from netman63129:

Looks great! How can I get one?

I was only referring to that gentleman’s post of the picture he had, and his intentions to have a professional sign guy make a sticker for him. I printed this up for s&g’s to see how it might look on the panel. As is, it needs to be stretched out about 6 inches or so to fill in the entire space. Sorry for any confusion. Still waiting for someone with the skills to come up with something...
