I joined the club this week with a NIB MMR! So far mostly so good but 2 days in I've run into my first problem. My tower diverter stopped opening yesterday and now is reporting stuck closed when in the Tower Test menu (T.17). I opened a ticket with CGC but figured I'd check to see if anyone else has run into this and has any ideas.

If I run the diverter test, you can hear the coil try to pull the diverter down but it doesn't go anywhere, like it's stuck. If I put the slightest bit of pressure on the top of the diverter while running the test it will retract every time. I can pull it down easily from below the playfield and nothing feels stuck...except me trying to fix it! (see what I did there?)

Excited to be in the club either way, she looks great next to my LoTR LE!

Just an update in case anyone else runs into this, there was a little bit of front/back play in the plunger above the play field and it would retract fine with any pressure pushing back, disassembled just in case and, as expected with a brand new game, the coil assembly was pristine. Turned out the screws attaching the plunger assembly to the pf must have been just the tiniest bit loose. I screwed it back in nice and tight and now there is no play front to back and it plunges every time!

Congrats! 10 months into ownership and I've been close once or twice but haven't yet placed my initials on that screen...

Color chip 100% if you don't have it already. That and a shaker are all MMR needs!

My SE came with a manual too, not just the LEs

2 years and 1 month into ownership and I finally won BFTK for the first time (2nd time making it)!! What a way to top off a weekend that included the first Bills playoff win in 25 years!

You say that...then I take apart the troll in order to adjust the switch and the switch comes apart into 5 pieces and takes 1.5 hours to get back together...even still, thanks for the advice - this did help me get mine back registering hits consistently

it *is* Brian’s work...as long as he doesn’t sell it to others, I imagine Brian wouldn’t mind...I wouldn’t do this to mine, but it does look great - nice work!

Stay near the middle and don’t forget you have a “bomb” with the launch button that you shouldn’t use until a kid is definitely past your reach - that’s my strategy anyway and i probably save them all … 60-75% (80% of statistics are made up on the spot) of the time?

Would be cool if this % was recorded in the audits (it’s not, is it?)
