Quoted from SuperPinball:

I think it's nice that we all help each other out. We also need to understand that we are not all experts but enthusiasts that really enjoy pinball. That said we approach certain problems differently depending on our experiences and backgrounds. Some ways of doing things may be better than others or better put may be better in your hands than in the hands of others. We shouldn't feel that if an alternate opinion is presented that it's a personal attack. It's just that, an alternate opinion or way of doing things. I will use my example where I posted a really easy swap of the old speakers for kickers and posted pics also. An alternate opinion was presented where chrisnack suggested that I should rewire in parallel to not drop down to 2 ohms. He is theoretically correct and I am grateful that he mentioned it. In my hands the ease of install and the 4 month track record made it a viable option for others to do. People in this forum have 2 different ways of doing it, both work. Pulling Trolls out vs in through the hole is the same situation. Both clearly work and one may be better than the other for certain people. Bottom line is that alternate opinions and viewpoints are always welcome as long as its done with helping people in mind. Now everyone grab a beer and play some MMR.

Spoken like a gentleman....more of this is needed on Pinside!

Does MMr have an 'Adult Speech Mode' and how is it accessed?

#1698 6 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

In Adjustments - Feature Adj. - A2. 22 Family Mode , default is No.
Now the F Word is still bleeped in No. Unlike the hacked ROM floating around out there, which isn't usable in MMR.
LTG : )

Thanks Lloyd!

What's involved in installing a shaker motor? Any preference on a supplier? Thanks!

Quoted from pintechev:

I hear you; I have a single jar that has all my keys in it, but a buddy of mine has changed all his locks to a single key, so, the changes of losing them all is so low

This is what I did about 20 years ago. Prior to 1996 or so I just used to pull the locks out and that solved my "lost key" problem. But any time I had parties I didn't like the fact that people could poke around in there. I bought 100 keyed-alike lock ass'y and every new game I get, pins or vids, they get the new lock, If/when they get traded, the cylinder comes out and I put the old unique-keyed ass'y back in. Works like a charm!

I too have owned a MMr & MM. My MM is long gone (sold back around 2000) but I can assure anyone-MMr is the SAME game out of the box as MM.
That said, I prefer MMr since I don't have to worry about 20 y/o mechanics & electronics failing on me.

I had something strange happen to my MMr last night...I had a few friends over and we're putting my pins through the paces and someone informed me that MMr 's flippers were retracting slowly. Sure enough I checked and they energized and launched the ball with no problem, but upon reseating, they both seemed to be in slow motion. This happened every time, not just on occasion. It was late so I just shut the pin off...next morning, everything was fine. Zero problems, no error messages (there never were any, anyway). Driving me nuts trying to figure out what happened and more importantly, how to prevent this in the future. Any ideas on this?

Quoted from Only_Pinball:

Check for broken return springs.

Checked them..not the problem. Again, the issue went away this morning..it's like it never even happened. Weird....

#3565 5 years ago

I should add that when this happened, when both flippers were energized, they both went to the rest position in the exact same symmetry.

Quoted from northvibe:

Do you have a handful of games?
Are they all on the same circuit?

I do...I believe I had 4 pins on that circuit....

Quoted from JimFNB:

If anyone still needs the diffuser kit, it's $11 with free shipping at gameroom guys. I just got one, very fast shipping. The site says there are 2 left.

What exactly does this do? Has anyone here used one and does it make a notable difference?

Quick question and apologies if it's been addressed here....I have a MMr Standard Edition (color chip added-that's all) and was wondering if the RGB kit can be installed on this and more importantly, what exactly is involved in the installation?

Quoted from Meech:

This piece came down the playfield while my son was playing and I can’t figure out where it came from. He did not have access to take the glass off. The game is still working but I don’t want to cause more damage if it is an important part. Does anyone know what this piece is and where it goes? Thank you.[quoted image][quoted image]

Is there anything not working properly or not working at all? That will help to determine it's origin....

A Dremel will clean that up in no time. From what I can see, this is a result of the blade at the end of it's serviceable life.
