Quoted from gunstarhero:Having had both (own an LE w/upgrades now and had an original on long time loan) there are plusses and minuses both ways... the remakes have some nice enhancements available if you can find them or they do an edition with the XL display and color changing GI standard. The originals are easier to service and do carry some cachet with certain people. Stock for stock tho I would go for the one you can get the better deal on myself, that's what I did.
Thanks for your help. I pulled the trigger on an original. It's in great shape. I am going through the machine and replacing all the rubbers, cleaning, etc. And noticed that it is missing this metal piece directly under the draw bridge. I tried looking on Marco but can't find a replacement. Anyone have any ideas? It looks like it is also missing a piece that goes under the left castle door?

oh wow thanks! So it means I need to screw into the playfield? Or should I just get the one without the screw hole...

Thanks. Yea, I ordered that one. One more question... the kickoff from the 'moat' results in the ball going SDTM (fast!) roughly 1 out of every 6 times. I looked through the menu and theres no way to adjust the power. (I am used to the newer sterns) - Any idea how to fix that? Thanks
Quoted from Damonator:Pinwize.com has the Merlin and double headed dragon (although I think the red dragon may be no longer available?)
Thank you! One more question... Which is the easiest way to light up the Merlin hole? Thanks
Quoted from Pinkitten:I used the Comet Pinball matrix system to connect LEDs by alligator clips and placed them under Merlin, under the apron and added two lamps above each slingshot.
Thanks, do you remember which type of light you used? A strip? A single light?
Quoted from Pinkitten:I like to use a short strip for the trough, and single lamps above the playfield. Under the playfield, under scoops or certain mechs, I like to use the star post LED clusters, because they usually have 4 or so LEDs. They are also flat, and fairly easy to affix to the underside of the playfield. I usually use painters tape to hold the light under the scoop. Usually stays in place for years. There are so many options for adding lighting to your pins, you can get creative and try different things.
Thanks for your help!
Quoted from LTG:Flat head machine screw. 8/32nds by an inch and a half.
LTG : )
Thanks. Hmmm I tried that and it doesn’t go all the way down. It stops about 3/4 of an inch
Quoted from Pinkitten:I used a very short little flat head there, and it worked great. It doesn’t take much to hold that mod in place.
Yea that’s the issue I’m having now. I think I have an adequate stew in there. In won’t go down any further and is right on the metal. But the left and right side of the metal mod move when I touch it and on the left side in the swinging door is slightly raised off the wood which changes the gameplay just enough to be noticeable
