Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Shipping without the topper right now is not an option for them?

Nope. Because there would be one Kannada baby that raised holy hell about getting an incomplete game or having to touch a screwdriver on a new game that ruins it for everyone.

funny part is, I just snagged one of the original run and there is so much packed in to the original game I don't understand the Royal Edition. Bringing it inline with the other 2 games oversized displays and light show is cool but not $2000 cool. It helps I'm not a big fan of the oversized display and toppers never did it for me either. Lighting, I'll have to look into that.

huh ok. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Hoping there is an example of the royal edition at MGC so I can see if I really need any of it. Is the upgrade kit only for the previous editions or are the CE able to be upgraded too?

Got a buddy looking at a MB and he was asking me about the lighting upgrade and I'm unclear on what's available and if its just for MMR

Just for MMR.
LTG : )

and why didn't I just ask LTG in the first place (facepalm)

I know these are super expensive toys and perfection is expected at this price point. In my experience, all of that anxiety created by having this perfect toy takes ALOT of the enjoyment away from having the game.

I did a crazy expensive restore on a D&D and buffed the playfield out to a mirror. I got so focused on getting it perfect that the first scratch in the clear (during assembly under a ramp you will never see) I had to walk away from it for a week. After getting it all back together, it was the nicest best playing game I ever had.

The point is until there was a scratch and I could get past the perfect, I didn’t really enjoy the game. It was just that mint in box collectible I was more worried about having then playing

Would have to go digging but pretty sure there was something said about no classics this run. I got the feeling at MGC that they were looking at cancelling the classic tier of games. I was asking if there was a classic for CCr in the works and was told no and that people were pretty much upgrading their classic with the bigger screens.

Quoted from JohnTTwo:

What or how much will the price drop for the remakes already out there? Seems I have seen a lot change hands recently.
Thoughts?

I would guess not much if any. The remakes are starting to push the 15k mark. Guessing the more people get into the hobby, the higher the prices

Quoted from paynemic:

Anyone know if a replacement screen (like from ccr) can replace the small original screen on an LE? Any chance it’s plug and play?
I might have a small one for you if I can find this out jj557!

Kind of confusing the way you worded it. If your asking if the large screen out of a CCr is a drop in replacement for the small screen (the CE version of the first 3 games) then I'm being told yes.

Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

Does anybody know if the run next year will be SE’s or CE’s?

CGC has not said. no one really know but....speculation is SE only

Quoted from jrcmlc:

Is there a no bs comparison opinion available between the remake and OG? I thought I had a really nice OG bought, but that went to crap, so exploring all options.

Yep. Both are great. If you really wanna get a feel for it, SS Billiards has them both and Pinball Mayhem (you tube) did a road trip a few years back to do just that. The honest answer is yes there is a little and I mean LITTLE difference in the feel. CGC remakes are a bit more susceptible to power then the originals. The whole flipper issue has not been a thing for YEARS and anyone that says otherwise either has not played the current run or didn't update their game.

The originals are exactly what you expect for Bally/Williams. they are fun and play great. That, of coarse, is entirely subject to maintenance. The CGC feel almost exactly the same but tend to have more fade over time then the BW. By this I mean over the coarse of an evening (league or tournament), the flippers might take off say 10% tops in heavy use. That is the only real complaint I have had and most of the time you won't even get that. The plus side is the great work on the new dots, the brand new game, better lighting, and availability.

Given the choice I went with the remake and was not disappointed. Unfortunately, I did have to make some collection adjustments and am currently waiting on a new run to try and get the game back

I usually just fish open face wrench in there and tighten them up. Have had a couple times where one came loose and the switch stopped registering.
