Quoted from jrcmlc:Is there a no bs comparison opinion available between the remake and OG? I thought I had a really nice OG bought, but that went to crap, so exploring all options.
Yep. Both are great. If you really wanna get a feel for it, SS Billiards has them both and Pinball Mayhem (you tube) did a road trip a few years back to do just that. The honest answer is yes there is a little and I mean LITTLE difference in the feel. CGC remakes are a bit more susceptible to power then the originals. The whole flipper issue has not been a thing for YEARS and anyone that says otherwise either has not played the current run or didn't update their game.
The originals are exactly what you expect for Bally/Williams. they are fun and play great. That, of coarse, is entirely subject to maintenance. The CGC feel almost exactly the same but tend to have more fade over time then the BW. By this I mean over the coarse of an evening (league or tournament), the flippers might take off say 10% tops in heavy use. That is the only real complaint I have had and most of the time you won't even get that. The plus side is the great work on the new dots, the brand new game, better lighting, and availability.
Given the choice I went with the remake and was not disappointed. Unfortunately, I did have to make some collection adjustments and am currently waiting on a new run to try and get the game back
