*Dumb question alert*

Have not been following MMR too closely over the years and my Google-Fu is weak, but how many production runs of MMR have there been? If I recall correctly, the first was done with Stern's help. Was that the only one so far or has CGC built some on their own since then?

#3882 5 years ago

Good to know.

My concern was that if CGC had only previously used Stern to assemble MMR, It might be longer than anticipated for the next run as they worked out the kinks. I am also not keen on trying to grab the first thing off any assembly line.

Thinking about joining the club, possibly with the alleged summer batch.

Any tips or recommendations about grabbing one of these new?

Quoted from TaylorVA:

How tall is the topper?

I need to know this too. Not much sense buying a topper that't too tall for my ceiling.

Quoted from PtownPin:

...You get the powder coating, topper, and the shaker for the additional $1K (SE to Royal) ... looks like their charging $250 for the powder coat

Also the mirror blades and double warranty... so not quite $250 powder coat.

As I feared, I'm probably going to have to pop up a ceiling tile with my space being just over 83" tall.

I'm sure there is nothing going on right now in China to exacerbate those delays too.

Too bad the RE was so incredible or I could have just ordered the SE. Waiting is hard.

Waiting is easy. Paying is hard.

First nib, I’m even stupidly exited to get to the paying part.

Quoted from CLEllison:

From PPB email received 3/7
"games are not going to start shipping probably until April"

That is unfortunate, but not unexpected. The way things are going with the markets, I'm hoping I still have any money by the time they ship the thing.

#5266 4 years ago

At this point, I would be more than willing take the game and then drive the hour down when the topper is done and pick it up.

#5286 4 years ago

The inevitable self isolation sure would have been more fun with a RE already in my collection...

#5290 4 years ago

I'm still in. Just waiting for the word.

Great to see they are going out.

CGC is an hour away from my house. Since, I've got nothing going on, I don't suppose they would mind if I just stopped by and picked up my order...

#5500 4 years ago

I've got my order in with Kingpin and he's been quick to respond even when I send him all the stupid questions that I've bugged him with for the past year that I've been on this train.

Yesterday he responded to my email in 8 minutes and was just as quick with the follow ups. Despite the fact that I don't have a game yet, I've been extremely pleased.

I think the bigger issue seems to be CGC's lack of transparency and communication. I've seen posts from many vendors and buyers on here mentioning that they are in the dark about the game's status. They make a great game, I just wish they were more open and forthright like Spooky.

Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

Nice. Still have no clue if mine has shipped. Cointaker keeps saying it is but no indication.

Yeah, I'm still waiting on the good word from my vendor. Pleased to see all the exciting unboxings, but have to admit a tinge of jealously is setting in the longer the wait goes on.

Leg protectors are a controversial topic. A quick search will tell you what I mean with lots of pics of damage.

Here is are a couple examples:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/leg-protectors/page/2
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/a-divided-opinion-leg-protectors-or-not#post-5599238

The big plastic, pinguard, pincab ones are good at covering up existing damage, but they will rub and wrinkle the decals on your cabinet in time and cause wear. I would strongly advise not putting them on a new game.

The smaller metal ones that fit behind the legs work well for new and I think someone mentioned they are possibly included on MMR?

Otherwise the felt ones work too.

MM-4243 arrived today. First nib and an amazing game.

I've got some cliffy's and titan rings to install, but mostly just enjoying it so far.

The most unexpected thing is how long it takes to boot. First time I turned it on, I thought it was dead.
