Quoted from Westsiderkg:

Check this out fellows….a custom made, LIT, missing center lane piece. After about 2 hours of dremeling and modifying the framework, including modding the lighting, wala….pretty cool, huh???
Pretty cool how someone else is attempting to recreate these covers too.
I still have a handful left....when theyre gone theyre gone...don't think I will be doing these again, simply not enough time these days. Tks.
[quoted image]

That looks great LIT! Now I will have to lite mine as well! Like I do not have enough to do.

Can you send a pic of how you fit a light in there?

Quoted from smallstocks:

Twice I have triggered Damsel Madness by shooting the ball up the right ramp and twice the ball has become lost. Both times the ball could not be found despite many attempts by the machine. Now it won't even let me restart the game. There is also a check switch 58 warning. What to do?

Curious on what the correct “behavior” should be after the ball is ejected from the merlin saucer.

On my game: the ball gets directed by the small one way gate to the right side SS ball guide (im sure doing what was intended) then comes off the guide and brushes the top / inside edge of the right sling where it deflects to the left flipper. Also seen it go SDTM if im not quick enough.

So i think i need to bring the end of the ball guide out from the rubber post a hair so the ball falls cleanly past the sling to the right flipper.

Also, on a launch where you send the ball around the left orbit - should the ball come down to the left flipper at rest (to deadflip to right flipper to gain control or go SDTM if you don’t intervene to get the tip of the flipper on it. Not sure if pf pitch plays a role here. Before you ask - yes my game is level

Loving the game, but its been many years since i played one and can’t recall these nuances. I recently dialed in my Alice Cooper and man its like playing a different game. I no longer suck (as bad) at it lol. It was only after i played a different game that i realized i needed to make some minor tweaks.

#6804 3 years ago

the ball should hit the flipper from either orbit, never drain or make it so difficult to control. I would say some "dialing-in" would be in order.

#6805 3 years ago
Quoted from seah2os:

Has anyone had issues with a ball going through Merlin's Magic, and not dropping into the saucer hole, it just keeps popping out the exit. My easy shots go in the hole, but a strong shot pops out the back. Frustrating, especially when it's lit for Extra Ball.

Search "merlin foam" here on pinside, this is a known quirk. I've left mine stock for now, but yeah, it's frustrating when you nail that shot, REALLY need it, and it rockets to the right instead of landing in the scoop. But I'm in the 'that's the way it was designed' camp. Best strategy is try to hit it slightly left or right of true.

I will get my 3 Upgrades /Topper/RGBkit/XL display

end of the week

so excited.

already got the manuals from the factory, looks like a lot of work to upgrade the GI

#6807 3 years ago

If anybody is lurking looking for a MMr. I have a home use one we are contemplating trading or selling. It is a standard with color hd chip, shaker, topper (not royal). It also has pinstadium lights, but I can remove those easy enough.

Quoted from Anubis330:

I just got my missing plastic piece from Westsiderkg and it looks fantastic !!! Way to go Westsiderkg!!!

Thanks!!! Enjoy my friend.

I sent my castle off to modfather about 1.5 weeks ago for painting. Really miss playing, kids and myself are going through withdrawal!!! Hope he gets it back to me soon, or I may need meds, lol.

Anyone else use Chuck for custom castle painting??? Would love to see pics!

Looks nice....does it come just like the photos?

Quoted from PtownPin:

Yes....

By the way, here's another cool medieval themed mod project...bought this off a nice fellow in Canada on ebay. Its a 3d print (rope is real), but I had to recreate a better mounting system however since the 3d bracket was flimsy, kids busted it in under a day. So I modified a pingulp metal mounting bracket. Solid as a rock now.

Don't know how much longer that ebay guys selling them, seemed not too interested in making them much longer, just wanted to let others know before he hangs it up since I think its a neat mod for MM.

Is there an adjustment to make the castle door stay closed (90 degree fully upright) ?

Mine is sagging a bit.

Could someone please check where the RGB cable from the speaker panel should be connected
the new board is already connected to the RGB-GI cables and to the topper and only 1 connector is free
but it is smaller then the plug

Bent98 has a good idea to add 1 more RGB led light (like the factory part pictured) under the darkened out catapult playfield plastic.

Anyone else attempt this???

Would be curious where to get a harness and how to tap into the wiring. Tks!

Check your ticket. You need to move the wires to the new connector ? The movie looks like should be move the wires to the old connector.

According to numerous threads on this or posts I should say this is normal operation I think it’s that way by design.

I have a question regarding the custom logo. I read the MBR manual and some posts here.
How to install back to the orig. CGC logo? Is there after uploading a delete function available? Or only factory reset?

edit: GOT IT. its in the selection menu while setting up the new logo (switch to orig)
thx

Howdy all

I went to put my mantis protector on my MMr. And it does not fit. I know a couple of people have done this already so looking to see if it is me, the game or the Mantis protector that needs to be “adjusted”

The area circled seems to be too long

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Curious if anyone has this issue and if so a solution for it, about 10% of the time when kicking out of the moat the ball ends up going straight down the middle. Any fixes? It might not be 10% of the time but it just pisses you off when it happens

I could not get the Mantis protector fit either, so I am using just the cliffy.

Edit: never mind, I was thinking about the Merlin hole Mantis

Use one of those scotch silicone bumpers, strategically placed. Is that cheating? No judgment on that from me...

#6830 3 years ago

BTW, here's my homebrew drink caddie with the pinskin cover on my MMR. There's no interference from the bracket or cup holder. Fits a side-by-side, head-to-head pin lineup:

I had this issue as well. Very easy fix. Look at the right ball guide. There is a post in between. Just put a small piece of transparent plastic foil in the gap so that the ball is moved just a tiny bit to the left. The foil needs to stand over just 2 mm. If needed I can make a photo.

Try reducing the popper strength on the MMr system menu.

If you are looking for plastic protector, I can really recommend Convolux from my MMR RE dealer.
I choose the yellow ones. Looks pretty nice. Its a kind of neon acryl.

Here some pictures, see the black post and the small plastic between black post and metal guide. That is enough to push the ball a bit to the left and avoids drains through the middle. The ball is sent smoothly to the right flipper. Costs nothing and is hardly visible.

Quoted from OverPar:

Try reducing the popper strength on the MMr system menu.

The popper strength is not relevant. The problem is that the ball follows the metal guide and falls on the edge of slingshot triangle and thus is directed straight through the middle.

Quoted from Zora:

I have messed with the popper strength as well. Tried all settings and I was able to reduce, but not eliminate the problem. Alternate solutions (like yours) will be next step.

That or a well timed nudge.

I had to take an angle grinder to mine to trim a little. Imagine you can also use a dremmel tool to trim a tad off. Every machine is a little different.

What is the entry "Through Pop Strengths" for.
I have not found anything in the print and online manual.

The intensity of the color changes depending on the RGB; with red it is almost invisible, with white or blue it shines very well bright (the yellow ones which I have)
