Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

By far the easiest way that I've found to move a pin upstairs with the least effort and in a safe manner (while leaving the backbox attached, but folded down) is to use a moving blanked or something similar. I've done this up curved stairs and stairs with a 90 and 180 degree landing half way up. You can do it with as few as 2 people (3 is better). Lay the blanket on the base of the stairs with extra at the top you can grab. Lean the pin (in or out of the box) onto the blanket (I do it where the long side is on the blanket - same orientation as when the pin is setup). Then have one or two people pull the blanket up the stairs when another stays on the down side to push and make sure the pin doesn't slide off. The idea is to slide the blanket up the stairs with the pin on it. I've only done this on carpeted stairs, but it is surprising easy compared to trying to do it with a dolly.

I've used the same technique going down carpeted stairs.

Quoted from BlazerB:

When I get mine I was going to do the blanket method. How do you tell which side to tilt when it is still in the box. This will be my 1st pin.

Box should be labeled. Couldn’t hurt to open up the top and just check them reseal it.

I've only done it with pins outside the box. If not marked, I would suggest carefully cutting some small holes until you can determine orientation unless someone who's purchased this pin NIB can give you some insight.

One side of the box has a huge label that says "Truck This Side Only". That is the bottom of the machine. And the side you lay it down on.

I'm excited to see video of this being played! I wonder if it is as well done as MB's lighting effects.

Cointaker says they have the "special edition"... is this the version they have or something else?

The royals have a topper and custom powder coat on armor, coin door, legs and speaker panel.

Thanks for the blanket on the stairs truck side down idea/info. It’ll be a tight fit on the width, but I think it’ll work. I may still have to wait till tomorrow AM for help guiding it up, but meanwhile here’s a pic of the topper.

So jealous. Hoping my distributor gets theirs in soon so I can get mine. Would be really nice for dealing with the isolation.

#5460 4 years ago
Quoted from Bdeuell:

Just received delivery on my MMRRE!! Now I just have to figure out how to get it up the curved stairs.
Does anyone have experience on how easy it is taking the backbox and/or playfield off this game to lighten the load? I've tinkered on a machine but never tried that before. I have a dolly that would work with two or three strong people, but don't want to ask neighbors/friends to help in these times and I'm not sure the wife wants to risk dropping my new toy. Maybe I'll just set it up downstairs for a few weeks... more opportunity to play that way anyway.[quoted image]

I took the backbox off my AFMRLE to get it up/down 3 flights of stairs and through a narrow doorway in my last house.

Not very hard. Take pictures of everything in the back box.

You will need an Alan Wrench to remove the side brackets that hold the back box.

Stuff the wires in the cab. Put the screws and bolts in the coin box.

Backbox itself weights 60-ish pounds. Legs another 10-15.

It all adds up.

Time to remove the backbox from the cab. About 30-45 minutes. Then the same to reassemble. And I was an absolute noob.

Congrats by the way! Can’t wait for mine to ship!

Nice topper but we need MORE PICS - Please, pretty Please - the rest of us have to live vicariously thru you now

#5462 4 years ago

Wasn’t the topper designed by back alley? We saw the prototype at expo last year. Brilliant.

#5463 4 years ago

Seems like the King needs a sword in that hand, mod idea?

#5464 4 years ago

Well my game is apparently sitting on a train that has been delayed. So hopefully tomorrow I get it. If not it will hopefully be next week.

sweeeeet get that baby open with lots of pics

#5467 4 years ago

Great to see they are going out.

CGC is an hour away from my house. Since, I've got nothing going on, I don't suppose they would mind if I just stopped by and picked up my order...

#5468 4 years ago

Finally set it up. Slid it up the stairs on a blanket, with two people on bottom and one up top. Added a shoulder strap dollys to get some of the weight off the floor. Not easy but probably the only way other than disassembly. Thanks again for the help for ideas!

How do you know what number you got? Is it those last three digits on the box, or printed on a sticker inside somewhere...?

#5470 4 years ago

great, awsome. Is the Software Version still V3.0 beta?

#5471 4 years ago

I'm super jealous of you two guys.
Mine was picked up on Monday and it sat in a fedex warehouse in Illinois for over a day due to "emergency delay". Now it's stuck somewhere in Nebraska due to "weather delay". Damnit!

#5472 4 years ago

Hey guys. Curious. Is there any visible notation anywhere on the machine that states "Royal"?
Also, will one of you post close up pictures of the metal flake in the armor, and of the side mirrors with the black smoke color?
Thanks

#5473 4 years ago

Starting the unboxing, the metal flake paint looks better in person than in the pics...

Congrads on your game.
Can you advise on the dimensions of the topper. Specifically looking for the height as I have a low ceiling. Thks

#5475 4 years ago

Beautiful game. Maybe mine will arrive one day. Would you mind posting a few shots with the lights on too? Congratulations.

#5478 4 years ago

I only see Royal Edition on the back sticker, and the rules card says “Royal rules” but that might just be what they all say (see photos).

Code 3.0.0 beta 3

I measured the topper at just under 9” but you might need an extra half inch Or so to run the wires through.

The black trim has a lot of small flecks of white that shimmer, not as many show up in the photos. Looks great though.

The mirror glass looks pretty high quality to me but I’m not sure I know the difference between a regular mirror and black smoke mirror.

Lots of pics added to help answer questions, sorry if that’s a bit much to scroll past.

wonderful, congratulations

#5481 4 years ago
Quoted from jarozi:

Yeah, I was just using the serial number.

here is an opportunity for someone to design a small plaque with serial #'s based on what is on the serial # tag. We can all then track thru some sort of database how many actually get made. I am sure these are all going into peoples homes so should be relatively easy to do.

#5482 4 years ago

Wow, really nice

Maybe the best version of the best game of all time

#5483 4 years ago

Looks fantastic. Enjoy!
Can’t wait for our local Distributor to open the doors & receive their shipment.

#5486 4 years ago

Congrats guys. Hoping to be doing the same tomorrow. Game finally moved out of Illinois and is in PA currently.

Also that black powder coats looks awesome.

#5487 4 years ago

It is nice to see the REs getting out. I have had my SE for about 2 months now and have over 300 plays on it. After a month I replaced the rubbers with Titan clear rubbers and black posts. Seems to deaden some of the airballs. Thought I would let my daughter do a little work on the castle today. I think it helps it look more finished. Here is my lame attempt at my one of a kind topper. Seems to go with the theme of my other machines. Hope they can really get the REs moving. I know someone has had his deposit in since last June

Finished setup and playing like a champ. Tonight I'll install a few mods and we'll be off and running. Super stoked to finally have one of my all time favorite games in the house.

Did they add protectors to these new models? Or will we have to order cliffy and mantis protectors.

Any recommendations on which are the best to be ordered or what combination ? (if necessary)

They added an drain outhole protector. The rest are Cliffy compatible...so skip the Cliffy drain outhole protector and get the rest. Cliffy doesn't make a Merlin hole protector.

EDIT: The remakes don't require ramp protectors, they come with those anyways.

They have a mantis style protector in the scoop, but it doesn't protect the edges....On top of all the Cliffy protectors I would highly suggest ordering the mantis laser etched protector. Its easy to install, really helps protect that area, and it looks great.

The Cliffy/Mantis/Pinbits protectors for MMR have been discussed at great length in this thread, albeit you'd have to look back through tons of posts, but doesn't pinside have a search mechanism to find those posts directly? I think Google would find them also searching on MMR protectors or something like that. There's a wealth of information in older posts here.

#5495 4 years ago

Hey Guys,
How are the graphics with the new bigger screen? We need some game play footage

#5496 4 years ago

To you guys that already got or has shipped your MMRE
who did you buy it from?

#5497 4 years ago
Quoted from TimBoch:

I know someone has had his deposit in since last June

I put my deposit on an MMR last year in February right after my distributor sold their last one. Once the Royal Edition was announced I got my deposit to be set on one of them.

#5498 4 years ago

I ordered from PPS and my game will arrive today.

#5499 4 years ago
Quoted from wamoc:

We are officially in JJPOTC territory now.

I ordered from GAP and I can’t even get a reply as to what is going on. Has the stay @ home order prevented people from answering emails now too? This would be my fourth NIB machine I’ve purchased from GAP and I feel like I’ve been put on ignore.

Every other business in the world emails regular CVD19 updates and what they’re doing to take care of their customers in the interim...and I get them almost daily. Apparently pinball makers and distributors are exempt from the same customer service.

#5500 4 years ago

I've got my order in with Kingpin and he's been quick to respond even when I send him all the stupid questions that I've bugged him with for the past year that I've been on this train.

Yesterday he responded to my email in 8 minutes and was just as quick with the follow ups. Despite the fact that I don't have a game yet, I've been extremely pleased.

I think the bigger issue seems to be CGC's lack of transparency and communication. I've seen posts from many vendors and buyers on here mentioning that they are in the dark about the game's status. They make a great game, I just wish they were more open and forthright like Spooky.
