absolutely since the topics discussed will eventually impact you. I absolutely love my MMR but the one thing that bugs me is the scoop for Merlin's castle. I get it in maybe once every 5 shots. Maybe there is a way to adjust it.
MMR/LE repair kit i've been keeping updated with all known issues with the new pin.
hope it helps someone

Great job on the repair end of things, I will be looking forward to the mods that will be eventually coming our for MMR and hope that people can post them here so we can be all aware of them. I saw someone create a Williams logo to be placed on the speaker panel to look like the original, it was sweet.

I looked up some old MM threads about this - Merlin bounce-outs are a pain in the butthole on the original, too...seems like there are a few workarounds. Here's what I did. I put two washers between the scoop assembly and the playfield and screwed it back in - this lowers the assembly so the ball hits more of the curved part and is aimed downward more effectively. I have MUCH better success now, far less bounceouts. To compensate for the ball being lower, I kicked up the popper power in the CGC menu. Every so often it still takes a few pops to kick it out - but I prefer that to the bounce-outs for sure.

can you post a pic of what you did? I figured it was the same problem on the originals too.
People have used ball dead drop foam.

Hey guys, just did a quick 'n dirty iPhone video of my MMr if anyone's curious how it looks/sounds/plays
I (skeptically) played it at PAGG and it was love at first sight.
Looking at my other pins to see what I might sell to get one of these bad boys.

Anyone know when the assembly line is starting again? I saw a video of sterns new factory and it looks to be in full swing (minus MMr). What gives? No updates on the PPS forum in a month either.

I asked my distributor this questions on Tuesday and he said this week. Ironically the PPS forum now has more negativity towards MMr than pinside and fewer updates if that is possible.

it's started & the next 50 pins are going to Australia.
Not trolling here but genuinely interested.
Any MMR owners actually regret getting one now that it's in the house?
I'm down for a black one and to be honest I'm bored of waiting and not impressed in the slightest about the communication. None of the UK buyers still have dates for delivery, so doubt it will be before Autumn.
The last couple of times I've played MM I've felt it's good but not the be all and end all of pinball. If I'm being truthful to myself I know I rate both AFM and AC/DC as better games for me. (although I have always loved the ball going through the wall)
I originally decided to get one partly because my kids enjoy it but I'm now really undecided between staying in or pulling out and using the cash to buy a couple of more modern machines (or maybe an original MM and another cheap game. I've passed on 2 since the announcement of the remake as I wanted a new one but I think that's my heart ruling my head)
Part of me wants to stay in as the machine will be all new and shiny but it's a lot of cash to keep tied up. If I go through with the purchase I know it'll need to be a keeper unless I want to take a huge loss on it
Any thoughts from owners? Do any of you have any regrets at all? Anyone in the camp of "it's OK but I'm bored with it after a month"?
Any feedback appreciated. I've been going back and forth on this one for the last couple of months and really can't make my mind up.
Cheers
John

it's a tough situation.
if Stern announced a new pin idea at the idea phase & they were going to use a completely new technology solution for it... it would be a long wait for folks and they'd get bored too. Instead, Stern waits to announce a pin until it's just about to roll on/off the line. So the announcement date, order date & deliver dates are much more condensed & satisfying. PPS has learned this lesson from this first pin and now are withholding their 2nd pin announcement until it is close to production to better align with Stern's marketing/sales timing model.
I'm in the same boat with you on MMRLE Black, so it's going to be a long wait. But, I've just tried to focus on other interesting things, so when it shows up, it's exciting. Also, I've found ignoring trolls & negative nellies helps keep the positive excitement higher and minimizes frustration
Bought it got it and play it and will stay with it. No regrets and I never played it before purchasing it but knew it was going be a keeper and worth the wait. Now waiting for the color upgrade and waiting again for that but should be worth it. Everything else I have is all color except TZ and waiting for that.
Stay in the game and you will be happy Johngravenews.

Bear in mind I am directly involved with PPS/CGC.
I have one at my business for tech support. Along with an original MM.
PPS/CGC/Stern knocked it out of the park, bases loaded. From a commercial stand point, the cash box, it's put a serious dent in the original MM here.

Not at all. It's not the be-all-end-all of games (for me, anyway)...but it's so cool having a NIB Williams (sorta) game....brand new, perfect glassy clearcoat, bright and clean without having to fix up a beater. I'm definitely enjoying it a lot. I never had one or played it enough to be jaded by it - so I'm enjoying the challenge of trying to get to the wizard mode (which I haven't been able to do yet).
Quoted from Drew13:Does a instruction card and price card come with MMr?
Has a good looking Royal Rules card on the left side, and Medieval Madness and design credits on the right side.

I can honestly say that this is an amazing pin and well worth the price and wait. I love this pin so much that I will be getting all of Chicago gaming/PPS games in the future. When guests come who are non pinheads ,so no bias based on ratings, they naturally gravitate to the MMR. I played an old MM a couple of months ago and almost cancelled my order. I'm so glad I didn't. Its my favorite pin and have absolutely no regrets at all with it.

Thank you. What price did you set yours at Lloyd?
Quoted from johngravenews:Any MMR owners actually regret getting one now that it's in the house?
After paying in full July 2014, the delays, and finally receiving it in April, I'd be lying if I said the excitement hadn't died. By the time I was notified the game shipped, I was kind of ambivalent. A lot had changed in the pinball world since I ordered it in October of 2013. That being said, the game is really well done. I agree with Lloyd's assessment above. Some of the excitement may have gone, but I think you'll be impressed by the game.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the rumors that production had restarted this week wasn't true. According to the most recent update on the PPS forum it will be another 2-3 weeks before any more games are made.

Where did you get yours from. Isn't there a way to just get the logo only? I mean I would buy a logo for $50 instead of 99 euros plus shipping for an entire speaker panel.

Someone here on pinside made just the logo for their MMr....it's posted somewhere.
I bought my speaker panel from pinball life.
Wondering....
Has anyone installed new/better speakers in their MMr?
I've always been fond of the FF speakers.
I think the sound from the stock speakers are quite good, I may install an external sub if anything.
Quoted from ShaunoftheDead:How many MMR's have been made to date?
Maybe 100.
I've accounted for a little over 70 so far.
IMHO MMr is a must have game. For me, my gold one is a keeper until death, or even after divorce. Remake is better than the original, by a small margin mostly due to - all new!!. My only regret is I did not have the money for a second one in black...
Quoted from BenetBoy78:My only regret is I did not have the money for a second one in black...
You know I never thought of that before. Why didn't I buy two of them. Oh well my MMr is a keeper as well and I will most likely be buried in it when I hit my 90's.
I'm posting in this thread cause I have a deposit on a gold and I want to be able to more easily keep track of this thread.
I haven't been in the holding pattern for quite as long as some others but I'm no less excited. It will get here when it gets here. It sounds like they are addressing the issues that have been reported, and if they aren't paying lip service and down playing it, it doesn't sound like it is as prolific as the forums would make it out to be.
Anyway, for those who have theirs already, have fun storming the castle!
Most of the issues are common NIB stuff. The vast majority can be solved by the owner like loose connectors etc. Mine has absolutely no problems so far, knock on wood. The latest issue trending is the slingshot chipping of the playfield which I honestly don't think is that big a deal from most of the pics I have seen. I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't pointed out to me. I just have to say that PPS/CG did an amazing job on MMR and I will definitely look forward to their other re-releases.
Has anyone who ordered theirs through Jersey Jack actually received their MMR? I did and feel like we're at the back of the wait list somehow.
I'm not sure what criteria they use to who gets pins shipped to them. I am very surprised that a large number of games made it to Canada from the first batch. I was told that the demand for MMR was overwhelming and that many of the resellers were allotted half of what they ordered and were not extended reseller discounts. In some cases they sold more MMR's than were available. In theory the easiest course of action would be to double up the numbers of the LE's and hopefully nobody would notice. Labnip is keeping a record of the numbers with owners so at least that course would be difficult for them to get away with. I think there was one doubling found, hopefully it was a typo. In the end, the longer you wait, you get a machine with many of the issues ironed out already.
