Just added 2 spotlights (black type) to the slings on my MMRLE. Love the extra light. Used a set of the comet purple "4x4" SMD trower (6.3 volts). One pic is with gameroom lights off, another with them on. Tapped into the GI using quick taps (see pics for where).

I used 1.25" standoffs and had to tap the lower end to 8/32 (my standoffs were 6/32 on both ends). Easy to tap and afterwards, they screwed tightly down to the exposed threads on the top bolt of the slings - no need to remove or change anything on the slings ...
