Quoted from jalpert:

Not true. That's ignoring all the people out there trying to put food on the table by routing machines.

A jeweler has to put food on the table, but that doesn't make a diamond ring any less of a luxury item. However, I think I understand the point you are getting at. I would presume that those that routing machines would be the ones that benefit from price surges though (since they have the skills needed to buy cheap and restore value). Is that not a fair statement?

I noticed on the PPS production machine that the plastic/decal is missing in front of the castle (true to the original!) does anyone make that decal/plastic or are they all homebrew mods?

That bare metal piece to the left of the drawbridge. Isn't there an aftermarket decal or plastic to cover that?

#55 5 years ago

Aftermarket maybe. But the remake is true to the original in that regard. There is no plastic or sticker there on the original.

What MMr?! I'm beginning to think there will be no pin. This is all a dream . . .

Just like duke nukem forever vaporware

Ahhhh yes there are

#58 5 years ago

I don't know where that came from, but looking at the original Williams flyer for MM that piece has no plastic or sticker on it. Maybe someone who knows more can chime in.

I don't have the lane decal, but they are nice.

They are in a set, offered by Joey, of Pinball Decals

For history, people were originally taking the right plastic and hacking it up to fit over the metal.

#60 5 years ago

I thought mantis sold them.

#61 5 years ago

Yeah that was an aftermarket decal. For that metal and below the gate.

It is September. Are MMR's on the line at Stern now?

#63 5 years ago

It was the last 2 weeks of September. However, since we haven't heard or seen anything else from the last update (the video, test games in the wild etc) I personally don't think they are going to make that deadline.

I'm still hoping and the thinking the original promise is a good one, all the games delivered by the end of the year.

Anyone hear anything about the Roger Sharpe video?

#65 5 years ago

Sorry, I just posted in the wrong thread ... We were told by Chicago Gaming the date for the video and posted it here, then it was not delivered on that date. So, we are waiting as you all are. I have seen the draft of it, so it exists and was going to have some edits to put in some additional features discussion and so we all are waiting for it.

Rick mentioned in another thread that there will be no announcement at this years Expo. He continued to say that they learned their lesson with the MMr. I think this means that they're going to use Sterns model going forward at this point.

IMHO, this is sensible approach from PPS.

I'd rather get my MMr before they announce another game.

Also with a 1 year ahead announcement like MMr PPS just got a years worth of abuse and hassle.

No, you will not. From the experience with pre-announcing mmr, we will forego that and just move ahead with the games that we are planning to move ahead with.

Yes but at the point you can, you need to let folks know to save those dollars.

So does that mean you plan to follow the Stern announce model and not announce anything until just before the game(s) are ready to go into production or something else?

You mentioned not wanting to pre-announce anything early in another thread, but I have no idea what that means.

How much am I gonna need?

#94 5 years ago

If it were me I would wait til all orders are fulfilled for mmr before I announced the new game. At least the mmrle.

You mis-read it then. BBB is what I saw.

First official confirmation that there is another game coming!

Maybe there will be a mystery ad in the Expo program like the TBL one that will offer up a clue or two.

A picture of a few martians wearing monster masks with six shooters strapped to their waists walking into a saloon ought to start Expo off with a big bang...
