Quoted from pintechev:

The RTC only keeps an increasing monatomic clock for the date and time backed by a battery. Other settings are stored in RAM/NAND.
Change the battery

Huh? So with out a battery the game settings including hi-scores would be saved? The battery is only for a clock that I don't really need?

Midnight madness. And it keeps time for the beaglebone that you do need. There may be other things, but the scores did not reset when I changed my battery.

Real time clock sure does eat up a lot of battery life if it's dying after two months.

Ok, so you're saying that if we still get the 'time and date' error after the software upgrade we should replace the battery? There's a midnight madness mode in MMr like Dirty Harry? Thanks for your help!

Yes, you should try the simple thing first: change the battery and report back!

The error never bothered me before - doesn't really affect anything. I never display time and date in attract mode anyways. For me playing pinball is like vegas - I don't need to see the time. If it starts popping up a lot I'll change it out and let you know..

There is no midnight madness in Medieval Madness.
