I'm happy for all of you that this upgrade will soon be available to all who want it. Perhaps if this were a lame upgrade on a lame machine, there wouldn't be nearly this much (justified) emotion. Hopefully, time will heal some of this.

Labnip: I realize that you are just asking, but your remark seems a bit combative to me. I'm sure it is unintentional. Your question seems appropriate for a Moderator Feedback or Website thread if you are truly interested in knowing the answer.
In the meantime, it would be nice to discuss the Colorization for at least one page without getting derailed.
It seems like the Colorization is pretty much as expected, but there are a few bugs. Maybe it's time for an MMr colorization bug thread?
I took Rick up on his offer and called him. It was an easy enough conversation, although I should mention that I am a software person and he is also apparently of a software background, so this might have been an easier conversation between two people than typical.
I got a better understanding of the relationship between PPS and CGC (which Rick has summarized above as well). For myself, I'm OK with what he described and where he saw the issues, but it's obvious that everyone here has different expectations.
We all have our own preferred methods of communication. Some prefer talking over writing (perhaps this is Rick) while some are the exact opposite (I count myself as one who prefers writing). I'm glad I took the time to speak with him and recommend it to those who can make the time.
I have a tracking number for my NIB MMr and am looking forward to its delivery.
Quoted from johngravenews:Does the chip just allow access to the code?
The chip is described as a key, so changes would be in a code update that one downloads.
Quoted from netman63129:I don't know you but speaking generally, if you go through life expecting perfection, then you will be disappointed most of the time.
Someone once told me "perfection is the enemy of excellence". I've come to interpret that as "aiming for perfection is a very different thing from aiming for excellence - both do not get you to the same result".
I'm not saying the colorization is "excellent" - I think we are each capable of determining whether the colorization (or the entire machine) is "excellent" or even "good enough" to purchase. Constructive suggestions for improvements are surely appreciated and I think its great that there are people with such a sharp eye that they can spot problems where I do not.
@Labnip I am not sure how much of this can be attributed to what you consider sarcasm. Sarcasm can be trickier in written form than verbal form. That's why this guy was created:
Personally, I avoid sarcasm in forums. People who know me can attest to the fact that I am extremely sarcastic in person.
Quoted from labnip:could you share your guidelines on what is and is not acceptable for us?
Using this as an example, I really can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Maybe in a conversation it would be obvious, but I also don't know anyone who would talk like this in person, sarcasm or not.
Over and out.
