OMFG the game is floaty because it has no playfield pitch.

#102 9 years ago
Quoted from perryd:

Was at TPS this past year as we well and The MMr was perfect, played fine all around!

Id guarantee these were the tpf games. posts were too dirty to have been new build.

Quoted from DCfoodfreak:

So funny to read a bunch of crap posted by folks that are not here. It's literally fukn hilarious. I bought one and the games I played here at expo were equal and better than the last several mm s I have played.
That's not key board bull from 1800 miles away. It's fact.

Then please lower the front legs & tell us all how it plays.

#104 9 years ago

I got more vid today I'll try to post later. The black one does have the to lanes wired backward.the base skill shot is only attained by hitting the unlit lane. The black one also has the speakers wired out of phase, the stainless one is correct. The vid I have were taken when the vendor hall was closed so the sound should be much clearer.

#105 9 years ago

They adjusted the levelers after I played. Guy said he needed to because of a bunch of complaining. I set high score #2 on the middle gold one. Thoughts: plays normally save for it floating because of pitch. Gold isn't bad, black is not as shiny as what pinball refinery puts out. Pops seemed sluggish, not snappy. Noticeable video tearing frequently. Other than that, looks like an mm.

#106 9 years ago

Thanks Calivin12.
Looking forward to your vids.

That's cool, I'll give the steep one a shot.

Got 40M on the black one; plays nice, was just missing lots of shots due to the different pitch. My own MM is about 7-7.5 deg, these feel like they're around 5.5-6 degrees. They fixed the inlanes, it was actually the lights that were backwards.

#108 9 years ago

Wow that gold is really sumfin! When questions were raised almost a year ago didn't Rick say they would change it? I hope he's not locking people in with that one

And you would be wrong ... All 3 games built last 10 days ... different rev of everything from tpf.

Go Rick.

And I can't wait to get my game. Amazing how many haters there are due to jealousy and probably a few MM owners that are worried about collector value being potentially impacted. I'm not worried an ounce and I know this is going to be a quality product.

#112 9 years ago

Somebody please set the leg leveler properly. Of course the game does not feel right!

Rick, can you confirm that someone has adjusted the leg levelers so the people at expo can get a realistic feel for the game?

They have been put back to nearly fully extended on the front for whatever reason.

Has to be deliberate. Especially if all 3 are the same.

I know some players like extended front legs to allow more tilt action, but at Expo? I don't think they're trying to encourage nudging.

But seems strange if they thought they could try and "trick" thousands of pinheads for whatever reason.

Just got home from expo and put at least five games on the black and a couple more on the gold. I thought they were awesome. Flippers were strong, ball was flying around. Sound was spot on. Really did not notice the tearing people are talking about with the dmd.
Could possibly be I was busy looking at the PF while playing. Would like to be more detailed, but very tired and need to go to bed. Probably going to buy one now after playing though. Cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this table.

Glad to have someone review the game with positive feedback that doesn't have one on order,... Any more videos, specifically of the black trim one since that's what I have on order

Ok that's good to know, I was basing it strictly on how beat up the posts in front of the ramps were. Didn't expect them to look that dirty on a fresh game. I've got a fantastic original at home, these don't play to much different, but at least the black one needs the speakers fixed, one is wired out of phase. The stainless is correct, didn't have a chance to try the gold one.

But you guaranteed it.....

#123 9 years ago

Games are properly leveled now. There was a line so I didn't get to play it. Hopefully I can get a game in later with it leveled correctly.

#124 9 years ago

vids are uploading to you tube. there is a shorter game on the stainless and a longer game on the black. link should be live shortly. ill add the second link when it finishes.

2nd video is big looks like at least an hour on the wifi here to upload. This was the black trim game, it will eventually be here:

#125 9 years ago

oh not a gameplay issue but an oddity, a start button reset while a ball is on the PF resets the game and immediately starts scoring the ball in the PF as ball one.

on any ball other than 1, that happens with every game. WHat, exactly happened?

first thing that struck me was the excellent sound quality. very clear, and healthy bass. noticeable improvement from the original. otherwise it looks like it plays like a MM to me.

#128 9 years ago

a reset is normal when you hold the start butting after ball one, a reset does not normally score the ball in play. I shifted the camera so I wanted to reset the game, I launched ball 2 so that I could do the reset and while the ball was on the PF it started scoring that ball as ball one of the new game. Normally a game will not score it since it will, at the restart with a ball in the PF, have a ball missing condition. since the trough and shooter lane do not contain enough balls. Like I said its not a gameplay issue at all. Just mentioned since it exists and if you were to be playing a game and reset best to do it while everything is in the trough.

We know some vendors so I was able to get in the vendor hall before it was open yesterday so it made the audio much easier to record. thats the silver one with the correctly wired speakers. I don't know if the new vid will let the mis-wired speakers be heard or not.

Thanks to all who have assessed this pin and provided videos. I ordered one and have never seen or played one in my life! These reports make me think I've done the right thing.

if you press start during ball 2 or later on any of my games, they start scoring the ball in play as ball 1 of a new game.

On the 2 spotlights that shine on the castle ... can those light bulbs be changed out to a different color, or are they permanent like the playfield lights?

Cool thanks... I'd love to see more close up videos of various shots of the playfield while being played... Didn't see the larger file yet.. Still says "video unavailable"

I believe they are standard 555 sockets. At least it appears to be.

Just got done playing the black MMr after they made it steeper, and am happy to report it plays just like an original MM now. No issues with shots making the ramps, and gameplay behaved exactly as expected. I think folks will be happy with these machines. Thanks go to CGC for listening to feedback and adjusting the game setup for us picky bastards

And yes, the castle bulbs are 555 and can be changed.

#137 9 years ago

they might not be 555, I was talking to the guy in charge (Doug Duba) and he mentioned a different bulb and that they were having issues with them falling out which is why they are not in 2 of the machines. they will likely use hot glue to hold them in fully. also the legs levellers were changed but it was still not a "typical" setup pretty low front, midlevel backs
<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc209/calvin12d/Mobile%20Uploads/20141018_112015.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20141018_112015.jpg"/>

#138 9 years ago

Oh he also opened up the machine. they just did make them according to Doug they finished the black one pretty much as the truck arrived to pick up the games to get them here, these are full production part machines not any proto/sample parts in these machines. I have vid of the interior I'll load later, need to go play some more.

Still looks like a really flat angle.

Regardless, in the first video you posted the flippers look plenty strong.

#140 9 years ago

I'm surprised anybody would think that it would play any differently than the originals.

Great thread. Thanks.

We organize local pin tourneys every month. We would be crucified by the players if we set up games with a wrong slope. Really. People would complain about how unprofessional we are. Guess how much we are paid for this job? $8k?

zero.

Want to advertise your product at one of the largest pin-events in the world? Make it perfect, no less!

Good to see they adjusted that eventually.

Personally I hate games that are set up really flat. I don't think it does the game any justice - the ball becomes bouncy and hard to control - it loses the intensity.

underside of playfield. will be live as soon as the upload finishes.

#145 9 years ago

Oh on QC, nothing to do with gameplay, the clear plastic over the dragon was on backwards, but that is just a matter of telling the people on the line which way to install it.

Wow. I really love the simplified/modernized design. Definitely an upgrade over the original.

#147 9 years ago

Nice under the playfield video.

Did anyone notice that the left troll pop-up assembly is missing a mounting screw?

You can see it really well at about the 15 second mark on the video.

I hope Rick isn't trying to SCREW us!

oh... so now you expect your coin operated game to come with the correct number of screws...

I am going to guess next you wil expect it to xome with coin mechs also. What is next?
