I noticed that the 50 volt circuit fuse blew again but at a different point. It fried a couple of coils along with it, pretty much the same ones as last time, except one less I think. Didn't have the parts on hand and saw other things that concerned me, so I put an out of order sign for now.
I'm not to concerned with the two coils that burned up or the fuse, assuming it happens every once in a while. I was more concerned with some resistors I saw on the 12v power supply. I've seen this before on a few other Circuit boards, where they resistors have gotten so hot that they burn the board. Wasn't sure if it was related or not since the 50 and 12 volt are separated, or do they use the same common somewhere in the circuity? is the burning area around the resistors a tell-tale of something else?
It would be nice to know why this particular circuit keeps popping the fuse. Last time I thought it was because I had it on a timer with another game and assumed it had something to do with startup current. I took the other game off and it's been fine for a long time. I'm almost positive this happened during the startup sequence this morning, because I had to reset the game since all the lights weren't on. Starting to think there is something else going on here.
the pictures are of the 50 volt power supply, the 12/5 volt supply and the two noticeable burned coils. ( I haven't tested anything else yet.) last time the fuse blew on one of the boards under the playfield this time it blew in the 50 volt area.
I plan to replace the fuse and affected coils, but any other info. would be appreciated.
