Quoted from Rarehero:The original's moat could kick the ball STDM almost every time.
This is a 5 minute fix for anyone with the most basic skills.
Quoted from Ed209:I'm on board for investing in new platforms and pushing this hobby forward. Eventually older parts will be harder to find and we'll need more than just elbow grease to keep these games alive.
As long as the new platform doesn't go the way of vacation america.
Quoted from PPS:Does everyone do the same logic when they buy a TV, Microwave, DVD player, Washer, Dryer, Car, etc - all with SMD components - that it's more reliable to buy a 15 year old version of these? hmm. The SMD boards are easy to fix, the SMD boards have current components, and the SMD boards are easily replaceable as we will have available as spare parts.

Don't even get me started on the reliability of modern "hi tech" appliances & electronics. My HE washing machine failed about 2 months after the warranty expired. The new board to fix it was available but was well over $300 and that was if I tore the thing apart and installed it myself. Long story short my new HE "high tech" washer lasted just over 3 years and is now at the dump, my 20 year old washer and dryer set that I sold to a friend are still running strong.
IMHO new electronics TV's, washers etc are throw away after a few years they are not built to last, they are made to fail so you will have to go buy a new one every 3 to 5 years.
Sorry for the appliancegument
Quoted from happilymarried05:Fuss fuss fuss. Why is that all anyone ever does on pinside. It's like people sit around and just wait for a reason to bitch about something.
Quoted from Honch:I don't think anybody is up in arms. I love the irony of you bitching about people bitching.
Honch has a point Happy05.. Just sayin
Quoted from PPS:Game #2 is up and running and will be announced at TPF ...
Can you shoot me PM on what the next PPS title is please
Quoted from NathanP:I love my MMR. It is flawless, plays flawless, faster than the original
Actually my MM plays faster than your MMr... Sounds silly doesn't it
Quoted from NathanP:it plays exactly like an original with all the same parts.
But I thought you said it played faster?
Quoted from NathanP:Lastly I have the phone number of the guy who remade them should I have a question and he responds! My game also has a warranty with an existing company.
What if he changes his number, stops taking your calls or gets abducted by aliens?
Quoted from RTS:No, both properly signed, but with higher quality ink that is capable of lasting longer on the later version.
FFS this is getting ridiculous!
Quoted from Astropin:Has nothing to do with being "shopped correctly". 20+ year old electronics can simply die.....at any moment. Certainly some older games are way more "brittle" than others depending on how they were used/stored. But even an HUO 90's pin can start having random issues with the boards at this point. My Getaway was perfect the whole time I had it.....not one problem.....I was SUPER lucky. STTNG and IJ I've had to work on numerous times to keep them running......that's probably more the norm for pins this old.
If you want older games you better know how to work on them or have the money to have someone else do it.......even if it's 100% when you bought it the odds are it won't stay that way for very long.
A brand new game can also "simply die at any moment" shit happens its pinball lots of mechanical and electrical stuff going on, I have had issues with 1 day old NIB games. If you want to own a pinball machine (new or old) you better learn how to work on them!
Quoted from Slate:You must be a original biased MM owner.
As you appear to be a "biased" MMR owner
kind of a silly argument as you just accused Metallik of doing the same thing you are doing (having a biased opinion)
